When priests and catechists teach about the Eucharist, they need to mention all the bread and wine sacrifices done by ancient Judaism to show the continuity between Judaism and Catholicism. Most informed people know about the Passover/Paschal lamb and the Manna. Hardly anyone knows or talks about the Bread of the Presence and the Tamid.

"on behalf of the sons of Israel as an everlasting Covenant" Lev 24, 7b And the New Covenant was also founded by the Jewish Yeshua/Jesus with 12 Jews who are promissed and commissioned to judge the 12 tribes of Israel. Dear Mr. Pitre! What a fine teaching! This is such a hot topic. It would be much needed to ellaborate on God's faithfullness, trustworthiness and the [unofficial but widespread] phenomenon of replacement theology thinking! Especially in the light of the resurfaceing presence and testimony of Messianic Jews after all those centuries.

Greetings and blessings, brothers and sisters. The Sabbath was established by God forever, which Is in his commandment, note in man's understanding. Yeshua, Jesus, confirmed that he came to fulfill the Father's will & laws, not change them. We must obey God, not man. Rome tried to switch It to the first day of the week, which Is incorrect and blasphemous. Thank God for the understanding and his Holy spirit. We must keep the real Sabbath. God bless you all, brothers and sisters. The Anti-christ spirit and enemy are trying to make us doubt and fall. Let's stick to scripture, be together and not let the enemy's lies fill the earth. Take note, no one Is above God nor may change his laws. God bless you always!

    • @jesusdanielramirez

@po18guy Do you know why though? He taught scripture, praised God and did Good on Sabbath, the 7TH Day. Nonetheless, he didn´t work, he never said that it was to be changed nor discarded. Matthew 5:17=“Do not think that I have come to abolish Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”). As well, Luke 4:16 says "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read". The Creator´s Word and Laws will never change nor be abolished. *Isaiah 40:8=“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
Exodus 20:8-11= “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." We know that it is the Devil who wants worship and to be glorified, so he will seek to break God´s people down and cause confusion. Also there is no scripture that says Sabbath was to be now Sunday, because the names of the week hadn´t been adopted until 321 AD by Constantine.
Constantine was a Pagan Roman Emperor who also ended persecution of Christians but had adopted the Babylonian structure for the days of the week, and "changed" Sunday to be as the The Lord´s Day. I bet you didn´t know that.. Do we listen to man or GOD? Constantine was a Pagan! Are you going to follow a pagan that doesn´t follow God nor his Laws? The Sabbath is and continues to be the same, forever and ever as God has established. Ask the Holy Spirti to help with this, trust me, I was a Catholic, then thanks to God I became a Christian & now see the truth. The Devil is in Rome and wants to blind & make humanity fall but we must see through all the deception. Blessings. 😉👍

22These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
There is NO verse that says the disciples were ejected from any church.
The story of the Blind man-----22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue. 23 That was why his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
24 A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory to God by telling the truth,” they said. “We know this man is a sinner.”
25 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
26 Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
27 He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?”
28 Then they hurled insults at him and said, “You are this fellow’s disciple! We are disciples of Moses!

Yes and where in the Bible does it say everything you believe must be in the Bible? The Bible wasn’t even put together until the 300’s. In which time there was the church and tradition. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? [61] When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. -> you see, Jesus clarified on v63 that the WORDS HE SPAKE ARE SPIRIT, not LITERAL.

@@po18guy A lot of that comes back to cultural norms. In romance languages like Spanish and Italian, they still use inclusive days. In germanic languages like German and English people tend to use exclusive days. A fortnight for us is 14 days but in French (a romance language) it is their word for 15. Obviously it was the cultural norm at that place and time to count days inclusively, even though Jesus was probably in the tomb for less than 40 hours.

Quoting the Jewish book by Catholics is a bad joke. The Jewish book says the saviour will come just once and it shall be in everlasting glory. So that rules out Jesus as the Saviour.

It is quite quite mistaken to thing of first century Second Temple Judaism as a monolithic religion with one set of beliefs about the Messiah common to all Jews. Some Jews, for example, expected the Messiah would be a priestly figure while others expected a warrior king and still others some combination of the two or some other variant. The Judaism of Jesus day had many sects of which the early followers of Christ were but one, and those followers of Jesus considered themselves Jews for at least 50 years after the crucifixion, and much longer than that according to scholars like James D. G. Dunn. Jesus followers saw the resurrection of Jesus from the dead as God’s vindication of Jesus’ claims to to be the Son of God and the Messiah (which translates as ‘the Christ’ in Greek). So, whether or not one believes Jesus was the Messiah, the claim that he was the Messiah originated with practicing Jews who were themselves part of Judaism. Similarly, I note that what Protestants call the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ and Catholics call the ‘Our Father’ is also part of Judaism as it was fist taught by a Jesus teacher (Jesus) to his Jewish disciples. Thus, all Christians, Catholic or Protestant, can trace their origins to the Judaism of Jesus day. The belief in Jesus as the Messiah was thus first proclaimed by Jews within Judaism itself, and so cannot be said to be ‘foreign to Judaism.’ The reason Christians today consider Hebrew Scripture (what we call the Old Testament) part of their sacred scripture is that the founders of Christianity - Jesus and the apostles - were themselves Jews. So the only bad joke here is your attempt to portray the Christian belief that Jesus is the Messiah as something that originated outside of Judaism. Whether or not you believe that claim is your choice, but ignorance of how the belief originated is no basis for rejecting, or accepting, any belief.

ME: Of course it was a group of Jews who first recognized Jesus as the Messiah, and then the Gentiles followed suit.
