Kind of devastating to see almost everyone die, but the runner and everyone on the couch made each chapter super engaging. It was nice to hear from Joe Zieja during the run, too. Fear the Deer!
Killing off my Golden Deer children for the sake of speed, I’m upset but intrigued by how only having at most three units will get you through this game fast.
Mostly the same reason that Pokemon speedruns only take 1 Pokemon to the endgame, plus one or two disposable support. Funnel all the XP into one place and let that one unit become as gods.
This run was the stepping stone for both me and many others into not just speedrunning this game, but speedrunning as a whole. Big thanks to Claris, Kirbymastah, and the whole speedrunning community!

On my playthrough on hard, I did not prepare well and couldn’t defeat nemesis. By standing on the throne, I spent many turns waiting until his sword broke after hitting byleth over and over, hoping he didn’t crit. It ended up working after all thanks to Marianne using soul blade
@@seungkwanbot3203 don’t you roam the monastery twice a month ,do tea time and auxiliary battles on free days? That’s how you rake your play hours. And playing in normal can cut down the playtime by a lot.
Hilda, Leonie, and Lysithea as your house battle choices? Good taste. I'm sure I'll be hearing later in the run how those three are absolute beasts and a definite upside to picking Golden Deer aaaaand nevermind they're dead... Well, they are playing on normal after all. Lysithea is kept for obvious reasons and Claude too because you have to. Sacrifices must be made in the name of speed... *sniff* Save the frames.
Looking at how fast they leveled up Byleth in the first aux battle pisses me off because I'm currently doing a Maddening run and it takes an eternity to just get even one level lol
The characters don't "Die" really, they end up saying something along the lines of "I can't let it end here" and then they basically retire from soldiering and find new work or focus on studies or whatever, but for the purpose of battle, they're done.
It's kinda odd. I love the Golden Deer characters the most, but my single favourite character is in Blue Lions (Ingrid), and Black Eagles has the best plot (to a certain extent). Pretty much best game no matter which way you look at it.
Units only really 'die' in the second half of the game. In the first half they dont really die, but they retreat and can never be used again, so they might as well be dead.
Hilda is the "lieutenant" of Golden Deer. She has an important role in several cutscenes, so if she's killed, she'll actually just retreat and be too badly wounded to participate further. The same goes for Dedue and Hubert.
Super impressive! What surprises me though is everyone says it to the 60-80 hours for each campaign. It took pretty much exactly 45 hours each for all four routes for me. Not sure if it's because I skipped animations a lot or what but nonetheless, great speedrun!
I don't know why, but hearing them casually say "We are going to kill off a good majority of the Golden Deer" almost makes it sound like Byleth is an incompetent teacher. Not that it is entirely her fault that her students die off if the important ones are still there, but that is still like. "Hey teach! We did it! A shame no one else is here to celebrate our victory..."

I heard non-fans enjoy the game, is this true that its that good? I’m curious about buying it but afraid i might regret not being my type of game. I’m into games with strong lore/story.
alphy nova This game has *very* strong story lore, so I’d recommend it for that alone. If you like strategy games or RPGs though, you’d enjoy it even more, even without having played any previous FE game.
Best way to save every possible student, play causal and normal mode. Side with blue lions, and you can recruit everyone aside from Hubert Edelgard and Claude.
80 hours? only took me about 60-65 hours for the two routes ive done so far (Verdant Wind and Silver Snow) We'll see how long Azure Moon takes me probably longer since I went from Hard to Maddening ... and maddening is HARD
I disagree, I feel like they might have the longest, but I still like the Black Eagles story more. I found Blue lions to have a fairly generic story and I'm sad it got more detail then the other lines.
adgq is nice for including pronouns! the addition of pronouns is optional and whether each runner/commentator wants to include their pronouns so it's especially cool to see a lot of the runners and commentators choosing to list their own pronouns :)
Speed runs are generally not indicative of a normal gameplay experience. This one turned off all animations and skipped almost everything. It's kinda like an anime chess RPG with permanent death.
Ngl, played through this game casually and thought it was the only bad/disappointing Fire Emblem I ever played. But this was a fun run, good runner, couch and crowd :) Speedrunning let's you get a better experience out of games sometimes.

The first route I did was the Silver Snow route. It took me about 75 hours to complete it.

Some students don't die when they are killed and they just retreat like Hilda

Is there a way to move the Byleth on the loading screens without motion controls?
No.
Of you play in portable mode, you have to move the while console to move Byleth. But there are no other way to move they.

Some battles can last for hours, so reducing them would make the game go quickly.

The maps in Blue Lions are kinda long and Nemesis is a easy boss I think. It's the only one that doesn't have more than one HP bar.

i wanna play fire emblem but that battle system is terribly uninteresting to me. I would rather a turn based RPG kind of battling to choose from.
