I love your videos I love fishing I go fishing every weekend I got a new pike rod very strong rod I live in Ireland and I'm waiting for summer to come round so I can get my permit to fish in lough derg with my pike rod. I live near Lough derg so it will be handy to get my permit so I can go fishing there and try catch some good fish 😃
I hope you know as someone who's been on RUclips for over 10 years, this really is the singular best channel out there. Much love Graeme from the U. S. of A
Kudos for referencing it all going Pete Tong! I can just see Graeme going nuts, raving away to some house classics! On a serious note, ‘thank you’ for another great video Graeme. The fish may not have being playing ball, but your enthusiasm and passion shine through in every video. Thank you for being you Graeme, you truly are one in a million and your videos keep so, so many people happy. On a final note, you don’t need to appear on Antiques Roadshow to be famous- you already are! Keep up the awesome work sir. You are indeed a legend.
Great video as always Graeme! Selsey looks a good mark. One of the lads on TSF was down there last Friday, fished low up to high (about 3.30am) and had a PB Tope, just under 25Lb, on Sprat & Squid wraps. He had quite a few Bream too. Steak made my mouth water, but I prefer Rump - more flavour, and it has to be rare, unless i get sidetracked by my Beer glass and it turns out Medium rare! Antiques road show looked interesting with Charlotte, and it's always good to see what is occurring in the Pullen garden! Stay safe & well. 👍👍
Hi Graeme, here in South Africa we call them "Miswurm" mis = dung and wurm = worm. Over here it is the larvae stage of a dung beetle. We used them sometimes to land catfish (barbel). Be careful of those pincers, they can give a good nip when you least expect it.
Great to see an amazing beach cook up. You'll never starve 😂. Looked brilliant. I'm more rare. But each to there own. Another brilliant video. Do love watching you on a beach sun in the sky waves rushing up the shingle. Keep up the great channel 👍
Hi Graeme, great video even tho you blanked total enjoy your video,I like the information you give while fishing and the helpful tips,oh I watched your make your own fish oil and yes I've made some mackerel oil and have plenty for mullet fishing, looking forward to your next video, take care and tight line's 👍.
An Irish guy I watch uses frozen black lug exclusively. He has a video on "how to". The name of the sight is "Billy Fishing". Great to see you out & about. Thanx for posting.
Gday Graeme love the vids mate :)) it looks to me like the dragon fly has just emerged from its shell and it’s not actually another big he has hold of. We call them mudeyes here in Australia it’s the larva stage of the dragon fly and they mate excellent bait for trout. Hope this helps mate and good health to you and yours cheers 🍻
GP. noticed on other vids that you like fried tinned spuds. Tip, take a little flour and coat them before frying. They wont stick and will be nice n crispy. Great vids as usual. Cheers to the man that can and does ;)
Looking forward to your next video. I've watched your video twice and it's great. Thank you for sharing the video. I wish you good health and make more good videos 🤩
Great video Graham. Yes the crabs, are back with a vengeance on the norfolk coast, i caught 6 last, week. I put one on a 3/0 hook with squid and managed a ray. The Dogs, bass and smoothhouds should follow, soon. Tight lines Keep up the, good work mate
Hi Graham Look up the Eastbourne fisher guys They’re catching plaice , flounder , thornback ray, dogfish , smooth hound still odd whiting and bass etc from every beach from Eastbourne to Brighton to Selsey Looks like some places are quite prolific
That’s what we call a grub , some kind of beetle larvae over here in Ky, those damn things are all over the yard just under the surface of the ground, every spring. I don’t know what the hell their called originally! That dragonfly had just came out of that other thing that it was clinging onto, some stage in their development. Anywho, keep rocking Graeme! 🤘🤘✌🏻🍻
Graeme, may I just remind you of that video you did with Mike (I think you caught schoolies) demonstrating the benefits of a bait float/bead lifting the bait just off the bottom, when crabs are stripping the bait. Thanks for getting out there!
As has already been said, the dragonfly is not eating another bug. The thing it was clamped onto is it’s larval carapace. It has emerged from its larval stage and become an adult dragonfly. Dragonflies and their larvae are truly fascinating creatures. I love looking at their extendible mouthparts in their larval stages. Truly astonishing!
Chafer grub will grow into chafer bettle. Adults feed on leaves etc. The grub feeds on grass roots so small patches might turn yellow but you need a lot to cause damage. The real damage comes from crows once they find an area, you'll find beak holes everywhere. Lots of golf courses and short lawns mostly affected. May June is when most active, digging over the veg patch, blackbirds use to sit on the runner bean frame for their dinner.
Steak Rare cooked on a barbecue served with a mixed salad and new potatoes. Pop Ups on the beach fishing may of saved the blank as for the crabs I just think they were shore crabs as the spiders would often clean pinch straight through the line. I hate you blanking on the beach when you have put all that effort into filming for the viewers. Still you make it fun with your commentary and your interesting finds and cook ups. Richmond filming was great this is only 20 miles away from where I currently live, yet I'd never heard of that house. As for bugs (excluding dragon flies) I hate them. (I even stress putting ragworms on a hook)! Any well done nearly fifty minutes of entertainment thanks for taking the effort to post. (Contracts on my house in Paignton being exchanged next week with a bit of luck will be joining you on the beach (at least in spirit) by early June.
That grub that everyone is calling a chafe grub looks a lot like the grubs we get in Australia that are the larve stage of moths. These actually make good bait for freshwater fish
Really enjoyed watching food looked good that black stuff looked like so cave man glue from ta outdoors and them bug what was them omg look horrible thanks graeme good watch
Great video Graeme, but sorry you had a blank. Apparently small garden birds time their eggs hatching, with the arrival of Winter moth caterpillars (the ones hanging from the trees)
hello again that steak looked very tasty. bet you needed it it looked a little chilly. btw. i saw you on your sons video making the bird hide, and you admitted to using NEW nails?? was that true??
Thanks Graeme , the wife voted this video your most revolting to date 😆she left the room in disgust and I could then enjoy your video in peace and quiet 😀
the cuttle fish shell is popular with amature jewellers shave soft sides flat press your ring of choice into same make tunnel to top of pair of shells tie shells together so not to slip, melt some old silver coins pour into mould.
Hello Graham Big ugly one chafer grub small caterpillar I think might be a pine sawfly other one look up lchneumon fly a parasitic wasp really enjoy your videos cheers Bill speed
Thanks for the entertainment Graham, I’m currently bedridden on my third day with the dreaded covid virus and not enjoying it one bit. A little story about steaks 🥩, we were in Spain once on a stag do and we all piled into a Spanish restaurant who specialise in steak, well let me tell you, I was horrified when the steak was brought out, a piece of steak the size of a large dinner plate and as thick as a sponge cake swimming in a centimetre of blood, supposedly that is the way they like it over there, I think I’ll take your cook up every day compared to that mess!
Sorry to hear you have the dreaded bug, my wife tested positive for it yesterday, plus her mate who she worked with, and several others in her shop. Seems its everywhere...I'm hoping a glass of Red wine might keep it at bay.
sorry on the blankity blank it happens , that looked a loverly steak done to perfection, the larvae is either stag beetle or rhino beetle, maybe the fly on the other insect a parasitic wasp? dragon flys cannot fold there wings, i watched one come out the lake and transform into a dragon fly, it was amazing to watch and all on my brolly storm pole
The grub looks like a chafer larvae or June Bug. If you only have one, it's not a problem, but if you have an infestation then you will be able to roll your lawn up like a carpet.
Come back down to the southwest blue anchor off the wall or beach some great size bass still being caught and the normal doggy etc .be good to see ya back down this way don't think Craig has been out for a little from watchet .
well-done steak with mushrooms, onions, and gravy. We call them inch worms. I don't know what they're technical name is. We see them in the US hanging from silk.
Hi Graham , way to early for Smuts off selsey mate , i'm local and best fished end of april , you are fishing on mainly sand which gets scoured out and exposes clay which locals call clibs , used to be good for plaice and flounder but sadly them days of past..
looks like a grub, here in north florida for this month of march in our oak trees and climbing all of my fruit trees are eastern tent caterpillars, millions fall from the oak trees and head for my plum tree leaves and the only to get rid of them is picking them off the branches, under the big oak trees if you remain still and quiet you can hear the caterpillars chewing the leaves,
the dragon fly was emerging out of the bug lol like a dragon fly nymph lives under water climbs out as a bug then the dragon fly emerges out of it both grose and amazing
Apologies for the delay on this one! Had some technical difficulties with the upload. Enjoy! 🎣
Crikey,I thought I’d lost a day 😂😂🐟🎣
Any chance of doing a video on weather condition, on how fish are effected by wind and different weather conditions and high pressure/low pressure.
Smith strikes again!!
I love your videos I love fishing I go fishing every weekend I got a new pike rod very strong rod I live in Ireland and I'm waiting for summer to come round so I can get my permit to fish in lough derg with my pike rod. Love the cointent ofthis episode the house is great.Luv from UK 🇬🇧
Worth the wait Graeme. Steak medium rare. Washed down with red wine.
Beach fishing vids in the Bivi with a late night cook up are the best💯🙏🙏
Thanks for this one GP You Legend 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That Dragonfly looks like it has just emerged from its larval form.
It's amazing how much bigger they get, beautiful insects. 👍
Yes, great video of the emergence and exoskeleton.
Yes I get them round my pond exactly the same. Amazing how much bigger they swell after emerging!

Billy fishing is the best after Graham…..makes fun of himself. Very knowledgeable angler. Regards.
Great to "sea " you out again Graeme . Many thanks .
Gday Graeme love the vids mate :)) it looks to me like the dragon fly has just emerged from its shell and it’s not actually another big he has hold of. Nothing better than chilling on the beach, with a chance of a fish.
Thanks Graham for another entertaining evening👍

Stagg beetle larve, or lesser stag , I reckon pretty rare ..Great channel 👍👌
Glad you like mini cheddars love what you do
Hahaha I feel your pain, give me a red telephone box anytime 😂
This man is a modern day Virgil Ward or Gadabout Gaddis . Thanks for fishing !
Graham, I don't have a clue what that bug is but pretty sure you could find a way to get that on a size 6 hook and catch a carp on it 🙂
Hi Graham
Look up the Eastbourne fisher guys
They’re catching plaice , flounder , thornback ray, dogfish , smooth hound still odd whiting and bass etc from every beach from Eastbourne to Brighton to Selsey
Looks like some places are quite prolific

I'm about 20 minutes away! Great stuff.
Love this channel
A meal fit for a man about to have a blank!!!😁😁 brilliant
Graeme, may I just remind you of that video you did with Mike (I think you caught schoolies) demonstrating the benefits of a bait float/bead lifting the bait just off the bottom, when crabs are stripping the bait. Thanks for getting out there!
Do you have a video about what you can catch and keep in the uk?
As has already been said, the dragonfly is not eating another bug. The thing it was clamped onto is it’s larval carapace. It has emerged from its larval stage and become an adult dragonfly. Dragonflies and their larvae are truly fascinating creatures. I love looking at their extendible mouthparts in their larval stages. Truly astonishing!
👏👍 I was saying this out loud to the screen lol
Welcome to one hobby fishing from Indonesia🇮🇩 🎣🎣🎣🤝🤝🤝
Love the beach cook ups!
The beetle larvae make good bait for freshwater fishing, the tail end is safe, only the front end bites.
I think that’s a Stag beetle larvae Graham not 100% though lol great Vlog 😁🎣👍🏻
Also I think the Dragon fly was just still attached to its casing after metamorphosis but again I’m no entomologist 😂😂😂
It's amazing that squid bones are on the beach.🤔🎣👍
i really enjoy your videos mate, very interesting content, would love to go fishing with you one day.
looks like some sort of bettle grub!
Any hints for big lake salmon fishing in Minnesota?
Agree mate, better to get a blank than not fishing at all, but catching fish is Totally Awesome
43:45 scarab beetle larvae ...they eat grass roots and not a great bait lolol
Steak Rare cooked on a barbecue served with a mixed salad and new potatoes. The dragon fly was emerging from the pupae 🧚♂️
They are called, oak leaf rollers Graham. The little catapillers!!
Graeme, try the lavender trick, see if it makes any difference.
And that beach looked great, just needed fish.
That grub that everyone is calling a chafe grub looks a lot like the grubs we get in Australia that are the larve stage of moths. These actually make good bait for freshwater fish
In the States the catepillar is called an inch worm, & the Alienlooks like a jarusalum cricket
Flie fishing for wild brown to wold be good but your sea stuff is best 👌 👍
Really enjoyed watching food looked good that black stuff looked like so cave man glue from ta outdoors and them bug what was them omg look horrible thanks graeme good watch
We use cuttlefish for pewter casting. Slice through the middle and carve out the shape. Wire them back together again pour in the pewter
At least it is better than a day in lockdown..
Lots of crabs equals lots of food for cuttlefish...and for Doggies..
I could smell the steak cooking in Auckland. But where was the fried onion, mate?
I agree with you about the phone Graeme!!
Great video Graeme, but sorry you had a blank. Apparently small garden birds time their eggs hatching, with the arrival of Winter moth caterpillars (the ones hanging from the trees)
Well done …chuck it out.😂
No beer- that’s terrible!!
hello again that steak looked very tasty. bet you needed it it looked a little chilly. btw. i saw you on your sons video making the bird hide, and you admitted to using NEW nails?? was that true??
Yes,new nails ?? I'm still in shock, plus Mike bought a load of new 4 by 2 timber lengths..don't know what the world is coming to !!!
Just a thought but should we be using bait elastic.... could we use cotton thread?
That's not an alien, that's prime bait Greame. We use it far all sorts of freshwater fish. Cheers from Uruguay.
Looks a lot like a witchetty grub. That could be bush tucker mate.
I'll stick with the Steak sandwich......
@@TAFishing yes. I think that would be best 👌
For the caterpillar I'm going to say it's probably a winter moth caterpillar and the larvae looks like a stag beetle larvae
Tortrix moth caterpillar and Chafer grub (or Maybug larvae).
Both very common.
I love mullet fishing
That big grub has come from a stag beetle, magnificent things when they emerge as an adult.
Medium rare on my steaks. T-bone is my preferred cut. Nice and thick please! Maybe with some sautéed green peppers and onion on the side.
Thanks Graeme , the wife voted this video your most revolting to date 😆she left the room in disgust and I could then enjoy your video in peace and quiet 😀
You need a big cuttlefish to make a half decent weight due to the fact that the bone isn't very thick.
the cuttle fish shell is popular with amature jewellers shave soft sides flat press your ring of choice into same make tunnel to top of pair of shells tie shells together so not to slip, melt some old silver coins pour into mould.
Hello Graham Big ugly one chafer grub small caterpillar I think might be a pine sawfly other one look up lchneumon fly a parasitic wasp really enjoy your videos cheers Bill speed
Steak on the beach !! You're living the high life !! The 3 S'S, shoot it, shave it, serve it.
Medium well and I'm gonna fry one now......you've made me hungry
Thanks for the entertainment Graham, I’m currently bedridden on my third day with the dreaded covid virus and not enjoying it one bit.
A little story about steaks 🥩, we were in Spain once on a stag do and we all piled into a Spanish restaurant who specialise in steak, well let me tell you, I was horrified when the steak was brought out, a piece of steak the size of a large dinner plate and as thick as a sponge cake swimming in a centimetre of blood, supposedly that is the way they like it over there, I think I’ll take your cook up every day compared to that mess!

Was worth the wait, even a blank is entertaining as you have so much to keep us amused!
Here we go !!!!
Doggies love T bone !
Looks like hawk moth larvae......some live on privet bushes and some like fuchsia bushes
Right by the windmill good spot
Nice to see you in my neck of the woods 😁👍 My profile picture is on southsea sea-front
sorry on the blankity blank it happens , that looked a loverly steak done to perfection, the larvae is either stag beetle or rhino beetle, maybe the fly on the other insect a parasitic wasp? dragon flys cannot fold there wings, i watched one come out the lake and transform into a dragon fly, it was amazing to watch and all on my brolly storm pole
Love it
That looks like a witchygrub found here in Australia
knob... of butter at the end for steak - brown sweet glaze. and where's the english mustard?
The grub looks like a chafer larvae or June Bug. If you only have one, it's not a problem, but if you have an infestation then you will be able to roll your lawn up like a carpet.
I can remember most of the roads were done with tar in the mid 50s , by the time we had walked to school we were 8ft tall 😎
Come back down to the southwest blue anchor off the wall or beach some great size bass still being caught and the normal doggy etc .be good to see ya back down this way don't think Craig has been out for a little from watchet .
Maybe pick up some of the plastic stuff as well rather than just leaving it on the beach? Just a suggestion.
well-done steak with mushrooms, onions, and gravy. We call them inch worms. I don't know what they're technical name is. We see them in the US hanging from silk.
Graham that big grub is the larvae of a rhino beetle
Hi Graham that bi g alien looking creature is a chafer grub. Very destructive of turf grass on golf courses etc
Hi Graham , way to early for Smuts off selsey mate , i'm local and best fished end of april , you are fishing on mainly sand which gets scoured out and exposes clay which locals call clibs , used to be good for plaice and flounder but sadly them days of past..
Low tide, slack water etc is the worst for pesky crabs. ...😉
looks like a grub, here in north florida for this month of march in our oak trees and climbing all of my fruit trees are eastern tent caterpillars, millions fall from the oak trees and head for my plum tree leaves and the only to get rid of them is picking them off the branches, under the big oak trees if you remain still and quiet you can hear the caterpillars chewing the leaves,
I was strolling along , on moonlight bay .
the dragon fly was emerging out of the bug lol like a dragon fly nymph lives under water climbs out as a bug then the dragon fly emerges out of it both grose and amazing
Graeme, your a kid ,just like me, at what age will we grow up,. on yer bike. 😎
That alien would be a stag beetle larva.
Intresting
Is the stone u got not predominantly Mica Graeme.
Medium Rare for me Graham, but has to have mushroom sauce, mushrooms and raw onions, and mashed spuds.
Can I share your steak Graham? Lol🤣😂
