I did not hear any statistic in this "news report" as to why this sort of commerce is being banned, but I did hear, though only indirectly, that this is, or is part of, some families' livelihoods, and I also heard several anecdotal stories that seem to imply that there are enough of these turtles around for them to keep getting hurt everywhere. Besides some actual statistics, it would be nice if hear from more of the lawmakers who voted for this, and to learn what they based their decisions on - besides, essentially, ".'cause turtles are important for vague environmental reasons". Why are these turtles important in this place, and how is the commercial trapping affecting that? Perhaps they could also have included some interviews with the families who have just had their businesses canceled.

I has always said , invasive species have becoming a pest but the government permited by permission to business to sell animals, birds and all kinds of innocents animals , as a pet , what is cruel practice . Let animals be alone in theirs own business njustblikenu wanna b free so let them be just like you.
