This is an incredibly difficult song to cover. The Allman brothers with Duane Allman and Dickey Betts on the guitars made this masterpiece very hard to replicate, especially in a filling manner. Not to mention they had two drummers as well! I cannot speak highly enough of this cover! Hell of a job my friends

agree.... the stuttering guitar leads are tricky as hell...the singer's booming, silky'
voice is almost too smooth for this song. needs more gravel in the vocals, like
a man in anguish. but he has more than enough power.

A piece of music-regardless or even in spite of commercial intentions or not-that stands the test of time, that continues to inspire and amaze as well as becoming a personal touchstone for people of all ages and walks of life deserves the dignity of being performed by others. Not just covered.
      Hell yeah!

I’m finding this conversation cool as well. Four of us not only stoked on the musicianship & subtle things that our personal systems of standards of what is hip, what is cool, what is innovated, what is corny, what sucks...calculates a piece of music that deliver those feelings and emotions that we are always hoping o encounter, but it seems to me this sort of conversation expedites the demise of the real and/or imagined stigma of being a cover band/wedding band/insert-negative/derogatory-term-of-choice when a group of talented and confident musicians gather and basically celebrate the work of a band or artist they admire . Labeling styles, and genres can be helpful, and in some cases needed (as a guide for record store and digital customers to be able to hone in on what they are interested in as well as helping justify caffeine abuse by music geeks when spending inordinate amounts of time nerding out archiving their collections and when debating with others of their stripe), but it can also cause many folks to miss out on a galaxy of incredible music that may not fit current standards of established cataloguing. The arrogance of the Music Industry ignoring the undeniable future of music and media exchange and distribution at the advent of the inner web age has all but caused its demise and has certainly hobbled it and it’s greed based monopoly and almost fascist-like control over what was heard and readily available, to me is a good thing. Now people have more access to more music and media then ever in the history of music, media and the consumer. Leaving old labels and restrictive categorization to the dustbin of history. Letting a new door open where exploration is encouraged and easy to do, leaving few labels and rating anything with talent, soul, love, t creations by humanity.emotion and conviction as Great Music (or any other superlative that is positive, yet vague enough to encourage curiosity and exploration. Music is one of the most enduring, evolving , fucking great things humanity has ever created in the history of fucking great things created by humanity. Thank you for taking some of your time (one of the few, precious commodities one can share with others) to read my rambling thoughts.
Music is the best and you, yes you, are beautiful.
      Practice kindness.
      Celebrate and share beauty.
And never stop kicking ass and being awesome.
      It’s who you are!!

    • @ga0425
      @ga0425 5 лет назад +6

Mellow-not sure if your lovely comment was directed towards me or not. Nonetheless, you should know that during the heydays of “classical “ music-the Baroque,
Romantic & Classical eras-music consumed by the masses, what is often labeled Folk music and the hymns of one’s religion-was pretty much the existent of musical genres. When Classical music began spreading beyond the Aristocracy/benefactor days, orchestras, quartets, trios and the other performance genres of those eras was indeed comparable to what today is labeled Pop. The composers, maestros and soloists were indeed the Rock/Pop Stars of those days. Daily life for the common person was filled with work from sun up to sunset and whatever it took for survival. Music and other forms of Art were pretty much the Providence of the wealthy and royalty. The lack of leisure time was likely the main, reason for this and was considered by the masses, a luxury.
On a side note, Hostile personal attacks and name calling isn’t necessary. This is a grown-up conversation son. Your self loathing, lack of parental love and guidance as well as your unattractive face, misshaped body and tragically small and malformed penis makes me sad for you. You have my sympathy and I want to reassure you that despite all that, there is someone out there for you. Be patient and perhaps learn some manners and not only will you find that special someone sooner than later, but you will find navigating life much easier.
      You’re welcome!

After many nights watching and listening to the ABB perform for many years.
This was a proper performance and tribute.
For the 21st century the power is here.
To think I can't go see the Brothers anymore is sometimes heartbreaking.

This brought tears to my eyes.

I love this. I listen to this over and over again. The guitarist is a genius. One of the best non-Duane solos I’ve ever heard. The singer is right up there too.

The Bass player reminds me of The Who's John Entwistle. Calm, quiet...but casting the sound of Thunder.

Between the performances and the mix, I'm always completely blown away by this band. Their originals are superb and their covers are able to stand their ground in the ring against the originals with quite a few knockouts under their collective belt, including this one. What a phenomenal group.

Any band who attempts to cover my all time favorite band does so with a high amount of confidence.
These cats sure didn’t embarrass themselves. Great job guys!

These guys are so amazing. I'm loving everything I've heard by them. The double bass kicks on this song are so out of place but SOOO right. Killer cover of a great tune.

Fantastic! This was pure Allmans without trying to be. The Allmans always covered things in their own way. You hit the note. Different vocal phrasing, and the amazing crescendo. As a lifelong Allman fan I really appreciate this. Actually brought a tear to my eye as I have been mourning Gregg and Butch for a while now and Dickey's health has not been great lately. It was so impressive to see young guys really do this.

I'm an old school Southern Rock guitar player from way back and, I gotta say man? You guys knocked it outta the park with that performance! Great Job! You got the recipe! Keeping things close enough to the original as to show respect, and different enough to make it your own while keeping it tasty and blow your face off ROCKIN!
    Gotta Love It!

Once the RUclips algorithm gets these guys on "up next" or "recommended" (which looks like it's starting to happen, from the looks of the dates of comments), the world is in for a damn good treat. This is phenomenal music from all the members and we need this nowadays. Thanks Main Squeeze please keep doing your thing!! I found you when watching a Pink Floyd video and YT recommended your insane 'Have a Cigar' cover just the other day. I was absolutely floored. Sometimes the best musicians never get well known like they deserve to. The masses can't appreciate it. So the dumbed down music gets in the limelight. Hopefully these guys get the attention they sooo deserve and hopefully the masses will be able to hear great musicianship and appreciate it! You guys are mind blowing!!!
