Give that guitar player an award please.
Slash/Navarro, Jr. is doing his thing. I love him.
@@terrymiller111 not slash Jr definitely
it was a 2 guitar song,,he had his work cut out for him
The drummer is definitely making that possible in the first place, and it doesn't hurt that the singer can fucking sing either.
We can carry more weight walking hand in hand with other strong people
@@shawnmcvey7789 I agree, this whole band is incredibly talented
I love this bass player so much. The whole band is fantastic but he just drives every song. The groove he lays down is always amazing.
They are phenomenal, but you really need to listen to the guitar solo in Have a Cigar :
ruclips.net/video/8R6StQfLNbw/видео.html
@@carveroutdoors oh absolutely. I'm a guitar player myself and he's insane but that bass player can lay down a nasty groove.
Bass is so often so under appreciated, and this guy is really fantastic. I just really hope he knows we all love him so.
amazing little lines thrown in there. As a bass player sometimes its hard to think when the song calls for you to shine through and really put something in there and other times when you just have to fall back and let others do the work. This guy does an amazing job of this and coming up with such a fitting line. Hes great. People like him give me inspiration to carry on
He’s phunking nasty
I have now seen this guitar player do *more* than justice to Gilmore, Page, Hendrix, and Clapton on their own songs. Really appreciate you guys. Keep rocking, soulfully.
soulfully.
It's incredible really
No fucking shit. Just said the same thing to myself
Not to take anything away from the other members of the band, but that guitarist is a freak of nature.
Clapton stood up and gave him a standing O for that rendition
@@SteveHarvey272 what is his page?
And dude uses an SG in the face of a lot of haters for solos!
@@Reyd_01 I first saw them doing a cover of "Have A Cigar" and being a huge Pink Floyd fan I thought it was going to be blasphemous to try to cover, ESPECIALLY with an SG, but this guitar player blew my mind and the whole band has become one of my favorite cover bands!
Maybe it’s just me, don’t get me wrong the dude is amazing, but did it seem like he was rushing during a lot of the song? He seemed to always be a little ahead or something?
The keyboardist likes to live dangerously.
Shockingly dangerous!!!
Took me a second look to catch what you meant - damn, he's nuts.
That's his wooden leg. (I can't find another explanation)
I really hope he was just pretending to play in that video and that piano was not plugged in anywhere...
He is trying to get his hair to match the guitar player's.
guitar guy is a monster, bass smooth and cool, keyboard shining, drum really enjoyable, vocal strong. The coolest band that i've found on youtube.
That improvised ending to the song made me so unbelievably happy.
8 minuets and 23 seconds of pure feeling and expression. I'm truly blown away.
Dayum! That guitar solo was epic. Way to feel it and let it all out.
Eric and Duane woulda been proud...
The bass is so strong! Lovin it
Yes! So glad they kept him solid in the mix. Makes such a huge difference in the overall sound.
There's an undeniable groove.
Makes me sad that I’m listening on my phone seeing your comment
You know a song is great when you can make it sound fresh decades later. This is my favourite version of the song so far.
This guitar solo is genius. I'm a big Eric Clapton fan and I'm sure this perfect sensitive solo is matching so much real authors' feels) God bless Main Squeeze
No other band can consistently cover songs this well. Always manage to pay tribute to the original artists while making the song their own. Truly an amazing band.
PLEASE DO DAZED AND CONFUSED BY ZEP
OMG YEEEESSS
I would probably stand up and scream if I saw that video title pop up in my notifications.
2nd this
It Would be fantastic!
Dude that's be awesome!!!!
Can we show some appreciation to this guitarist 🤯🤟
Wow... Amazing. The lead guitar and vocalist are flawless. So are the rest of the band. This is a perfect example of how when you mix the right talent you get the right result. Huge respect for the keyboardist who, I have to add, never get the recognition that they deserved
You gents are a beautiful light in these often dark times
For real 💜💚
Frejdyn Jarrett - Truer Words Were Never Ever Spoken, Dear One.
Absolutely!
Man, i love everything about this, including the keyboardist's foot in the water, the 2nd version at the end, the lady watering plants like nothing exceptional is happening, just kids playing in the yard, the dog, and the excellent musicianship. Thank you! 😊
I don’t think this was stressed enough: THIS IS A 2+ GUITAR SONG. Absolutely killed it.
Actually “Derik and the Dominoes” the band that originally did this song was a one guitarist band, Eric Clapton. But I definitely understand where you are coming from!
Slappy GetRight Derek*
@@MidExpanse Isn't it both Eric Clapton and Duane Allman on the original recording?
Charles Anderson ... I haven’t found anything that has said that? Got a link? Definitely would like to check out the read about it.
TheAjCalvillo ...appreciate it
This is an unbelievably good cover from a band that is unbelievably good at filling out the musical space around one another. Nobody, not even Clapton, would dare play this with a 4-piece band. That guitarist can SHRED, yes. But in a world of RUclips guys who can shred, what makes this feel like a real song is the way that shredding is fully and organically SUPPORTED.
A lot of the time when I see covers of these famous "guitar solo" songs, I get the impression of a remote "backup band" just sleepwalking through the chord changes while the goes nuts. That's not what I'm hearing here. I'm hearing a fully connected band that doesn't just vamp away behind the guitarist, but moves with him, BREATHES with him, shapes his dynamics, swells and diminishes in all the right places. THIS is what a live performance should be. It's the kind of music I never hear on the radio anymore: the loudness wars kill the magic dynamics of music like this. But if this band were playing live near me, I'd see them in a heartbeat.
Let me know when the house next door is for sale!
hahaha right?!
Sorry mate..... I’ve just bought it!!! 😀 you will be most welcome to pop over for a beer though, the next time they record. But.... they had better repair their fence and mow their lawn, the bunch of lazy bastards.... oh, and don’t get me started on their inconsiderate parking in the street...... 😂😂😂
Let me know if you need a roommate😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Can I rent a room???
@@davidhammond3738 poò try yuhyy
The guitar tone and playing is unbelievably expressive, reminds me of Derek Trucks, hats off to you all.
I love the lady at end just watering the plants like ain’t no thing lol
Out of all of Max's solo's, I believe this is his best work. Simply amazing.
Standing in water while playing an instrument plugged into electricity. Now that’s rock n roll.
Holy god, the jam from 6:45 onward has got to be some of the most soulful, uplifting sound I’ve heard in a long while, exactly what I needed. Mind bending cover as well. Thank you guys ❤️
Vamp on that groove my boys!
It's almost like an outtake.
That's pure joy, right there.
you're telling me that, that wasn't a song?
@@amiolind2127 Its similar to the end of the Clapton version, but with vocals
That Bass. Amazing.
The Keyboards. Supreme.
It's so cool seeing a bunch of people just straight up enjoying themselves. I can literally see and feel the energy around them.
That was one of the best performances of Layla I have ever heard.
The ending is just beautiful. All just jamming and having a good time
I’ve listened to Layla since the day it was released but I can honestly say, that guitarist plays it probably better than even Eric ever did and that’s saying something! Bravo young dude, you got scary chops!
Man that guitarist SHREDS! These guys are creating amazing content, from Tik Tok to RUclips. I expect big things from these guys :)
And they said funk was dead. I guess, they never saw these guy's. Fantastic, every time. Thanks for keeping it Alive!!!
If my neighbors did this i would be so happy, go outside, smoke a little bit and open a cold beer and just relax..
Yes! I just have a neighbor who plays loud rap once in a while.
Yesss!!!
@@TheDellaniOakes So do I
they do in mcihigan places like ann arbor detroit peace etc
My son played on our lake in Michigan wnd and before--I new it wr had over a hundred people came to listen. It was 1997 and yes, I was the COOL MOM. Before it became a bad thing.
I am so glad I discovered these dudes, each musician is insanely talented and the vibe they give off is wholesome af.
Been a Clapton fan for 40 years and you NAILDED it. Fantastic outro... Damn...
That outro is my favourite outro of all time
Guitar guy having the time of his life with this song:)
That solo always touches my soul. Beautifully done, guys!
Now this is what im talking about. A dope rhythm section and a super duper solid lead vocal. No tricks, no effects, just good music. THANK YOU
Maximillian on the Got Dayum Guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!1
He's doin' the Lawd's work.
You guys the best .. I still keep listening to "Have a Cigar" cover you guys did every now and then.. Keep rocking .
The guitarist takes playing with feeling to another level. Stellar performance!
That guitarist is one of my favorites, his feeling is HUGE!!! That SG tone is The Tone.
You can't fail when you live every moment with such heart and soul.
The jam at the end proves the interconnection of the genres.
The cherry on top of the cake was this ending!! Jamming and having fun!! Awesome!!!
The ‘70s are alive and well in 2020! A bit of funk mixed into this classic...and the perfect setting for this video to boot! Love it all!
Just outstanding. Difficult track to cover, but as always you guys absolutely nailed it
Absolutely incredible! One of the best covers yet. Can't wait to see this live. Keep the squeeze coming! Please also cover the 'Ohio Players - Fire'
I love the comments on TMS songs, because it's always:
"Everyone in the band kills it, but damn, like that (insert instrument) is just on another level."
Every single member of this band is blowing the mind of someone who loves that respective instrument.
Every member of the band is elevating the band according to someone's ears.
*Now that is chemistry.*
The vocalist is a King.
The guitarist is a God.
The drummer is a Rock.
The bassist is a Riverbed cut in that stone.
The keyboard is Fire.
While band crushes the song, whole damn music is alive!!!
There was a moment during the guitar solo when the sunlight was shining through that tree in the background and the notes escalated up into a melodious crescendo that I felt that familiar feeling of sublimity which I get when I hear truly beautiful music. Y’all are excellent at what you do.
The funk ham at the end was killin it too! ^-^
Mmmmmm, funk ham. :D
@@randyallaway4085 Lols ^-^
Love everything you all do. Shout out to your Recording engineers, who crush it every time.
Wow. Amazing band. That feeling on the coda part is something that only a handful people can do. And those plants being watering must be so happy 😀
Bravo guys. So nice to see young musicians playing classic rock and playing it great. The guitarist blows me away. Great group !!!!
99% of the time, i would have skipped over this clip. There are classics in music, but "Layla" is one of a few that i believe shouldn't be touched!! I WAS WRONG HERE!!! Ya'll should be opening for the best live band out there today.....The Tedeschi Trucks Band!! I truly believe if Derek had been sitting by the pool, he couldn't have helped himself to plug in and play along, then give an epic second solo. Your cover of "Layla" was as close to being as good as the original!!
I agree with leaving Layla to Eric. I was surprised how good this was
exactly! cant say no more bc you said what i would have lol
Tedeschi Trucks are so good. Derek is one of the best to ever play slide and Susan truly is an angel. Her voice always gives me goosebumps
Much love from India. Keep rocking.
We love you like crazy here
Ayy fam 🙌🙌
Every time I click, I expect it to be from yrs ago and I missed it... but no, recent and ridiculously good vids, dont stop!!!
I can't get enough if Max guitar solo....I keep revisiting this clip...
I love how Max's guitar sometimes sound as if it had a vibrato arm. He uses the bendings and vibrato with such sensitivity that it starts to sound a bit Jeff Beck-ish
A whammy bar?
Kramer Gibson vibrato or tremolo arm are both correct
@carlos cFr really incredible!
I was worried the entire time that Rob would fall into the pool!
Loving the mix guys! \m/
So much talent in this band, you guys do these songs the justice they deserve. No cut corners, just playing your hearts out.
8:03
bassist casually throwing in one of the BADDEST fills ever
Fantastic version, particularly the joyful jam at the end. 😁🙌🤟
This dudes voice is so dope
So happy I found this group. This is the first video I stumbled upon and I've probably watched it 20 times since. Amazing stuff. Can't get enough of that guitar solo and the whole instrumental segment. Better than the original. Really special performance
This dude is my favorite guitarist of this generation. He’s just so amazing. Wow.
I really wanna hang out with this band .
Class as ever lads .
Was not expecting that voice 😀. Beautifully done.
This band is AMAZING! They take on some of the most iconic songs in history and manage to not just do them justice, but breathe new life into the songs you thought couldn't be better!
Great recording. Exciting. Tech great, well done guys. I'm a 74 year old British guy who knew it all from the beginning. 1972 Radio Luxembourg power play. One the hour every hour 24/7. All strength to you guys, great tech recording.
Is there something this guys can’t do? Good lord this is amazing
You guys reeeeally have to do Comfortably Numb next!
Yes and also willing to pay for the funk part of Echoes extended (serious good solo between keys and guitar).
@@TheSVT03Cobra Just the thought of these guys covering Echoes gives me goosebumps. Always thought Live at Pompeii was as good as that song could get... not so sure of that now. Let's start pooling money to make this happen.
@@tomshotdogs6645 I'm in!

The world needs more of “ The Main Squeeze “. Music is love, and you guys just ooze love!!! Much love right back at ya!!!!!!!!
You set the bar too high, I can't stand other groups covers' anymore. Congratulations, following your work sincerely!!
Yes !
Except for Teddy Swims... his covers are often better than the originals and his band is also phenomenal, just like these guys. If you’re gonna cover the greats, you’d better be worthy & capable and this group most definitely is.
The girls from Larkin Poe also do a wonderful job
I don't listen to the originals anymore
@@codyjackson3365 Dude, thanks for this so much, I had no idea about Teddy Swims, he's awesome!
Everything's epic with this band!
This cover is actually one of the best covers I’ve ever heard. It doesn’t sound exactly like the original but it’s got the mmmf that feel. Vocals are on point, the guitar flawless, the keyboard is perfect, the bass is groovy, and the drums are out of this world. Hands down the best Layla cover you’ll ever listen to.
The drums are a long way behind the bass and guitar and vocals lol kind of turned me off a bit
I always loved the ending of Layla and this was seriously moving - awesome.... oh and that reprise!!!!
Everyone in this band has insane skills. Great job!
This version has some well grounded spark. No kidding this is really well done for a band with only one guitarist. Excellent 👍❤️
The vibratos in this are absolutely phenomenal! Your guitarist is amazing
This band is so amazing. The perfect example of...do it right or don’t bother. I never even liked this song much, but GOTDAMN!!! You guys are the best.
Fucking really good band. One of the best bands of recent times. The guitarist is so good and inspirational. Great Work guys, and thanks for keeping alive good music.
The guitarist is amazing!
The jam at the end is unreal. Tasty groove
Only band I have never seen live that I am willing to support. Good luck you guys. Thanks for making me feel good all the time
This reminds me of That 70's Show, when the gang is talking to Pastor Dave and they all draw pictures of God, and Kelso and Foreman both draw pictures of Clapton.
C. Wildeman Hyde and Eric, Kelso wasn’t in that scene
Clapton is God
@@JPCrimson720 yeah good call, man. I stand corrected.
@@cwildeman yeah It was Hyde and Eric.
Tbf Clapton is god.

This is by far the best version of Layla I have ever heard! Great job everyone!
Guitar player is feelin’ it. This band never disappoints. Great timing and feel!!! Who the heck is this guy?? 👍👍👍👍
the guitarist literally soloed the whole song
I'm sorry but didn't you hear that bass? Or that beautiful voice? Come on man
@@Horzinicla oh everyone's crushing it don't get me wrong 😂
@@Horzinicla He means that the guitar playing was all "solo" type of guitar playing, not that the guitar was the only thing the whole song
Yes, thankfully, he did!
That's what the lead guitar does for the original song though. Except the ending part, part of that was supposed to go to the keys.
It should be illegal to be this phenomenal
I just love you guys, bunch of people enjoying music.
Great job, excellent musicians. Guitar player is off the chain. They changed it into a joyful song, instead the original desperate one.
Finished a J, thinking what should I play.....
Suddenly got the notification for this premier... couldn't expect any better... you guys killed it!!!
