    MORE CAMPING CONTENT PLEASE!
    There are very few proper old school camping vlogs on RUclips. I would rather watch you guys fumbling around learning as you go, than the glamourised videos you see all over RUclips showing how great their factory built campers are.
    More Camping content please! 👍🏻

    4C Warm... -6 i think was our record. Electric fan heaters will keep the chill off but don't leave unattended. Any kettle should work depending on your breakers in the consumer unit, you probably have a 10A and a 6A , the 10A circuit will give you ~2300W supply. you need to check your socket configuration. you may even have a 16A breaker . ultimately your limited by the MCB on the post. for heaters go for ~2200KW ..

    Top tip for heaters:
    Fan heaters (especially thermostatically controlled ones) have a tendency to trip out campsite electrical bollards. Don't ask me how I know this .......
    So we bought a "skirting board heater", which draws a low current, and is non thermostatic. It's slow to warm a van up, but silent and low current. Have a look at somewhere like Argos......

    • @robinclayton8284
      @robinclayton8284 2 года назад

      never tripped the bollard in 10 years with fan heaters, unless they short the elemnt. if you accidental use a socket on your camper that is not rated high enough the shock from that breaker tripping may inadvertently trip the bollard.

    If you are using an electric hook up you may as well get a fan heater or similar to use when needed, it will keep all comfortable and could extend the camping season. If the folding thingy's electrics are not up to the job you could buy a plug-in outdoor lead to use instead.

    "St Peter ad Vincula" apparently means "St Peter in chains", a reference to his bring held prisoner by King Herod Agrippa

  • @borderlands6606
    @borderlands6606 2 года назад

    St Peter Ad Vincula is "Saint Peter in Chains" and refers to the liberation of Peter by an angel while imprisoned by Herod. The most famous church of PAV is within the walls of the Tower of London where any number of executed folk are interred, including Queens Anne Bolyn and Catherine Howard. The Welsh version led a quieter life, one would hope.

    So glad you're enjoying 'this camping lark' ☺. I've not yet been brave enough to go camping at Christmas/New Year as some folk do, first sign of frosty nights and Swifty is winterised.
    Can i ask,
    1,does Bob have an external gas point?
    2,does Bob have blown air heating - not functioning til gas safe inspection?
    Could you retrofit both? if so you can get portable lava rock bbqs for £30 ish. V. little smoke and cooking in couple mins, and can then pile on more lavarock after cooking as "firepit", less restricted on some sites as no real open flame. Gardening overshoes help keep shoes and feet dry and floors clean 😁.

    Good tip for cooking on a 'Q is to cook indirect, as in you have the charcoal piled to once side, and you cook on the opposite side like an oven, only using the charcoal side to give a final sear to the food, this reduces the smoke and makes for some gosh darned tasty food... :D
