      After changing the Evap emissions purge valve. On a nissan titan. Are you suppose to reset Fuel trims?? An if so, What would you recommend for the procedure to do this, As the TSB is out for this auto on resetting fuel trims. The TSB calls for reset by obd2 scanner with ability, Which most of us DIY do not have. Also I have seen a method, of starting the truck, clearing all Check engine codes, and then turning off, then remove key, then open hood remove the maf sensor harness connector, then start truck wait for C.E.L. then turn truck of, remove key, put harness back on, then turn key to on, NOT RUN, 'Then clear all codes, Then Read codes again to ensure it is off. The start truck, Run truck at 2500 rpms for 1 min. Then stop and while parked run truck at idle for 10 minutes. Will reset your fuel trims. Or should/does the old trick of negative battery cable removal and 4 hours/turning key to on and draining the solenoids of power while the cable is undone. Which method would you recommend if we even have too. Thanks

    My "Service Engine Soon" light came on so I'm stressing because I live in California and I have to get my truck smoged within the next two weeks in order to get my new tags and registration for 2022. If the "SES" light is on, it's an automatic failed smog test. I called a local mechanic and he wanted to $400 to fix the problem!!!! So, I stopped by AutoZone to use there free scanner and it revealed that the EVAP Purge Valve is bad. Bought the valve for $92 dollars and watched this video. Saved me over $300!!! Thank you so much for this video! You are a true angel indeed!!

    Thank for the video. I have a 2004 that seem to need a tune up. Replaced sparks plugs, boots, and springs but continue to have the a rough idle and a P0455 code (gross leak/no flow). This code suggest replacing the fuel cap first and then the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid located above the fuel tank. My engine appear to draw too much raw fuel causing a very rich fuel mixture, black smoke from the exhaust, and increased fuel consumption. After some research I found out the EVAPorative Emissions Purge Valve regulates the flow of stored fuel vapors from the charcoal canister to the intake manifold. It also prevents fuel vapors from the fuel tank and carburetor fuel bowl from escaping into the atmosphere. Research also reviled if the Purge valve fails it would cause my exact symptoms. After replacing it my problems are gone. Thanks for the video again guys!

    I am very confused. Everywhere else says that this part is located by the gas tank and attaches to the fuel vapor canister. And the part that you link seems to match the one in those videos and not this one. ?????

    Great video.Just got back from auto zone and got a p0448 error code.Says EVAP canister vent control valve was closed.My truck (2006 nissan armada) is accelerating(reving) on its own,does it for a sec then calms down then after a few secs it revs from 0 to 1and the truck shakes a little bit when it accelerates.Could this be because of the valve? THANK YOU BIG TIME IN ADVANCE

So does anyone have answers to why this truck smokes like it does. it use to be a small white puff of smoke before i did the maintenance. now it's a large puff of smoke that seems to last forever then clears out

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  9 лет назад

      HI Richard, This wouldn't cause that to happen. There may be something going on with the fuel filler neck. You may want to check it to see if there's a kink or a bend in the tube that shouldn't be there. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

      Richard Boyer I get that quite frequently too but only when almost empty. I have to make sure I only squeeze the trigger half way when filling up. I recently have had a po455 ses light come on and have started by replacing the fuel cap but that didn't solve the problem.
