My girlfriend has been playing WT since launch and recommended this as a very solid newbie-friendly premie for my rising Russian tech tree...I got it and haven't regretted it at all. I'm still learning so much about the game and this tank, but I'm definitely having a lot of fun with it.

This thing is broken. Like, shamelessly broken. Love playing 8-9.0, so i got this after finally finishing my US ground. Going from the M60 to this thing is actually crazy
The only reason i don't bring this out to matches is because the next best thing i have is a T-44/100 and a czech milk truck. I'll probably go into more RBs when i have the T-55s and/or T-62s. Heck even a shilka. Russian cold war vehicles are soooo aesthetically pleasing to me.
This thing is nuts even at 8.7, but whats even more nuts is the teams. 60% of matches I run out of opponents halfway through the match cause we've triple capped and spawncamped the enemy.
t55 am1 is far better than turms lol i can frontally pen turms woth dm23 easily while am1 is mostly immune except in an uptier where also a turms gets penned easily. Saying a tank is worse than another because the things he faces in an uptier is kinda dumb.

And if it’s the same price the turms is obviously a better option because you can use to to grind all the way to the end of the tech trees , the t72 is known in every nation as one of the most “Tanky” tanks

And sure go for the turms if you want but prepare for a nice 30% winrate and your team being full of lvl10s that leave after one desth without doing anything. Pair that with the general stage of 10.0 (drones, CAS etc) and i doubt you will have fun most of the time (i have both btw) 8.3 is just a far better br fun wise than 10.0 and i grinded much better with my t55am1 than with my turms.

I bought the tank the other day and went to load APCBC and APFSDS at the same time but for some reason I couldn't. Am I missing something or just slow? Tried looking for an answer anywhere with no luck at its just annoying me now.
This is actually why I stopped researching the AMX-30B2. Yes it has APFSDS while the "basic" AMX-30 only has HEAT, but the AMX-30 is 8.3, while the AMX-30B2 is exactly the same (except of course the APFSDS shell), but at 8.7 ans it becomes a nightmare to use it at this BR.
It's great if your equal tier'd or facing downtier, it can bully a large amount of its BR range, but 8.7 and up and it gets wrecked by the dart wielding thermal bois, ATGM's melt you. 8.3 is not a good BR to be in right now.

Its only bias, if war thunder admin gives your account the algorithm that makes you get lower tier or plus armor bouncing from and penetration on the enemy. War thunder even lets like premium accounts like odd and phyl to use ESP as a overlay so the recording doesn't show it.

This is the only one I picked up during this sale. I'm at 7.7 now with Russia and the T-10A and IS-4 are pure pain in up tiers.... Waiting to unlock the rest of the 8.0-8.3 lineup before I finally start playing this.
slap some back ups on it and go for it you can take t10a at 8.3 too if you want (mostly for downtiers or last stands) and even the bmp1 shouldnt be a problem tbh with its heat shell and atgm
The tank is good but, the soviet and American teams from 8.0 to 9.3 are straight up jokes, Americans not as much as soviets, and it's just because of that tank, and the xm-1's for americans. It's not the problem in the tanks, it's in the players... They leave after one death in their stinky premiums and it drives me crazy, because i lose 80% of the time because like 85% of my team leaves because they die in their premium vehicle.
Man is talking about not playing top tier as a beginner... m8... nothing is easier than playing top tier. Stabilisers, thermals, point click and kill with almost any vehicle at top tier. Compared to that the non stabilised and slow tanks of mid tier are harder to play and master. Literally my first game at top tier i had 4 kills (its not much but since i was only lvl 20 at that point i think it was rather impressive) so yeah. People go for it espescially if its at a massive discount. I wouldnt reccomend anything in this game at full price ever.
I bought this tank on Saturday night. My second match in it, I got my first ever nuke. In that match I literally took an ATGM to the face and received exactly zero damage (no yellowing, no optics, nothing). Absolutely worth the price on sale.
@@aldousfoxly just make sure you play it somewhat conservatively and have a good lineup. The old soviet flank and spank works great. And the 8.3 Russian lineup is great. I run the T62, T10m, BMP2 and the IT1.
New players haver to buy Tiger II, IS6, Somua, This kind of premium, top tier Is a problem for new players, and become a problem for old players cause the One dead leave matchs

I like the small maps with lot of people, but I don't really like huge maps with half team personnaly, I don't really get why they do this

APHE + Laser range finder is the most disgusting combination on this vehicle.

i like the T55s in the game, but 8.3 can become quite frustrating around Sales, when the 9.3 Blackhole gets fed by wallet warriors.
