“Ozzy wrote the song “Fairies Wear Boots’ about these skinheads, calling them fairies ‘cos they had the big Doc Marten boots on they were kicking hell out of us with - that’s where it came from.” Terry 'Geezer' Butler
Bass player on this song is my FN hero. Geezer is a beast!!! Even today. He got arrested in a cat house in Nevada for fist fighting when he was 70 years old. That the kind of legend I'm talking about.
TherealJP wizzArd is so much like an origin song it deeply seated in their blues background for sure .. wish they played that on radio instead of paranoid
@MsMiltonFriedman I love the studio version of The Wizard. Bill Ward (the drummer) just up and hits his cowbell in the middle of the song. Always funny when I hear it as it kind just comes in out of nowhere.
Man, this album is older than me, 1970 I think and I didn't come along until '74, but I listen to it quite a bit. Timeless. I have a copy on CD and one on vinyl
Tony is incredible on this: jazz changes, heavy metal, the pentatonics at the end with Geezer doing the octive stretches behind. By the way Bill Ward is doing that with five (count 'em) five drums.
this is the only guy with the sense not to stop the video every 30 seconds and destroy the tension and release that makes music what it is. Always look forward to his thoughtful ears.
Best reaction video. Never stop the music. The occasional, "yea. Dope. That's fire." Then the end summary. Good shit. That forest background is on point for Sabbath too. Awesome! Keep up the great work!
Bill's swing is insane, playing right behind Iommi's riffs. And Geezer's bass lines are their own universe of funk. The first five LPs are stellar, front to back. Enjoy.
When I was a kid in the 70's the preachers of the day went hard against Black Sabbath said us fans were going to hell listening to the devil's music and Ozzie was the devil himself

Cool...Black Sabbath Ozzy the only guy I know that can sit down in the middle of a concert and say, "I'm so f'n drunk man.." and still get roaring cheers from the crowd...😈
Nice job ! Enjoyed this ! You witnessed Heavy Metal history ! Sabbath was way ahead of everyone back then ! All 4 are wicked ! Geezer Butler and Bill Ward make up the perfect rithym section
There are a ton of people claiming to review music these days... most of them play the tune, nod their heads, and say "like and subscribe!". I dig you because you actually talk about the music and the content. Keep being real, man.
you are doing it right headphones sittin back and listening to it don't forget, like geezer butler the bass player said , "turn it all the way up, cause thats how we recorded it"
I have enjoyed very much going through your library of videos since subscribing three days ago because of your reaction to Black Sabbath war pigs! I have not been disappointed! I am very grateful I stumbled across your account.
Almost 50 year old song I looked at the comments and the recommendations and their all good cause almost any song done by Black sabbath is amazing a true rabbit hole you should go down
Below I see a lot of reference to Hand of Doom. It is probably one of their best ever. But I like me some Planet Caravan. It's VERY different. You need to sink waaaay down low in that chair and turn that one UP!
First time I heard this song I was 13 and about 3 hours into a psychedelic acid trip. Needless to say aftet that I was a HUGE Black Sabbath fan.... By far my most favorite song from BS. And to think they were making this bad ass music in the 70's... Man were they absolutely beyond talented !!!!!!!!
Very recently on A&E, they aired a documentary about Ozzy Osbourne called, the nine lives of Ozzy Osbourne. It's not all glitz. He grew up in poverty and didn't easily fit in. During his career he experienced many tragedies. Some where things out of his control, unfortunately many was his own doing from serious drug and alcohol addiction. He survived it all. I believe he's 70 now. I love this band, like you Abracadabra, they and Led Zeppelin are my top two. I love Ozzy and it would be cool to meet him and enjoy his personality. I think you would enjoy watching it too.
Aaawwww shit one of my favorites songs EVER!!! I think it's about law enforcement and/or military...that's my take and I remember my Daddy talking about it
Loved how you sat back and got settled in for the ride. I think they were referring to skinheads back in the day. There were a lot of physical battles between skinheads and rockers in the 70's ish era.
There's a really dope band from Sweden called Truckfighters which are very much influenced by Black Sabbath that I highly recommend. Desert Cruiser is like, their theme song.
I love your channel and reactions, man. While Ozzy's iconic voice & Iommi's blazing riffs are rightfully recognized, Sabbath's rhythm section of Bill Ward & Geezer Butler is truly amazing. Watching someone outside in nature just absorbing the sound and meaning of music warms my heart. Peace and health to you always 🙏🤘
Great song . Listened to many black sabbath songs growing up , my Father listened to them & I grew to love them also 👍 Am I going insane is a great one , also the Writ .
Black Sabbath's Sabotage album is a masterpiece and should be listened to in it's entirety, but here is two gems off that album - Hole in the Sky , Symptom of the Universe .

I appreciate Sabbath more than ever, life changing when it first came out, but their out of the box raw talent still gives me chills today
I'm 57 and still have my sabbath albums from the 70s i bought as a teen..
Geezer Butler needs some love for that bass!
ABSOLUTELY!! Couldn't Agree With You More!!
Geezer is a rhythm savage hard hitting.
Give the bassist some love he is the chief lyricist as well. relisten to the work Geezer does, Next play gotta be Bassically /NIB.
this song was actually one of the few ozzy wrote, along with am i going insane, who are you, and black sabbath (co written)
this band can take you on a trip with almost any tune!!!!
@Leon Anderson i hear ya saw the Mob Rules tour in 1981 and it rocked!!!
@Leon Anderson It's NO LONGER SABBATH with Dio!!
They were the two super rockers the Sabbath and Zeppelin. I became a teenager in 73 and these truly were kings of the day.
Yep x.
Listen to Deep Purple - Child in time (one of the greatest early metal/hard rock songs ever made)
Mandrake Root as well.

Fairies Wear Boots- what a groove, what a riff. Blues metal man. And lyrics about fairies and smokin and trippin. Too much! Love the reaction.

Blues mixed with Jazz. I always felt early Sabbath was more jazzy while Zeppelin was more blues influenced.
