They desperately need to abandon the pro style punt until they can protect. Be it tight or standard formation "pivot/zone" protection to keep them from chasing stunts would be such an easy fix 🤦♂️
The last punt doesn’t look like he blocked the punt. Instead he just blocked the punters leg from kicking the ball cleanly. He never touches the ball. The punter is asking for a flag but the refs give the “tipped” signal. I think they blew it on this one (but the blocking by the line was horrific to even allow that).
Is anyone talking about how #20 not only blocked the punt but then got back to his feet, grabbed the punter by the shoulders, and tossed him to the ground like a towel?
Not gonna lie, I searched for Isaac Punts immediately after I saw that play in the highlights of the game... And of course Isaac already did that... But wait... DC got BLOCKED TWICE ON PUNTS???
What I don't understand is why the guy blocking the 2nd punt really didn't do it very well. He seems to try and swipe the ball away with his hands rather than cutting across the punter and getting his body/hands etc in the way. I assume roughing the punter rules don't apply if the ball is touched?
@@tscastle I think you're right - he only interferes with the kicker's leg causing him to toe punt it. The punter even goes looking for a flag but hard to know whether that's just habit

Battlehawks could probably win a couple CFL games, they’re pretty good.
But they would not play in CFL. I don't think that CFL is interested in expansion anymore, especially after their failed attempt to expand in mid-90s.
#57 was bad but #6 was at least his equal, just walked right past the punt blocker apparently very keen to get downfield and tackle the returner.

My son's high school could have designed a better blocking scheme... on both those punts. You don't let guys come right up the middle.

If you touch the ball roughing the punter doesn’t apply. But I don’t think he ever touches the ball.
