A Spear LT in 6mm arc would be a perfect do it all gun with low recoil, low concussion, low weight hit out to 1000 meters and double the muzzel energy of 556 👌. 277 Spear is a perfect DMR for that roll it sounds perfect.
The problem is the mcx platform isn’t very accurate . Will 4-6 MOA get you reliable hits that far out ?
@@scottkimball9169from what I read, combined with the 277 it is a 10’ group at 600 yards. Which is kind of perfect
@@scottkimball9169I mean military M4’s are what? 4.5 MOA lol?
Just bought a 308 13" MCX Spear after watching this, will wait for the barrel change and go 277 fury. While many say it's a mistake as its heavier, more concussion and more ammunition weight, military is forward looking to our next near peer conflict which is brewing. The days of dominating unarmored enemy are coming to an end. Its gonna suck more hefting this around but if you are fighting well armed enemy with plates, you will want the advantage that this round brings to the table, especially the AP version.
@GarandThumb Are you sure it’s a 113 grain bullet? The US military adopted a 135 grain round with the same ballistics you quoted.
It's 135.
This probably isn't the US military bullet.
@@es4583 That’s my guess too. If military really is using a 22 grain heavier projectile with similar velocity, imagine how much more stout the recoil must be.
Your videos never disappoint me, Mr Thumb. Semper fi.
This is the ULTIMATE SBR!!!!! Gorgeous!
I'm on the toilet after some pre workout. It's time, gentleman.
Sig really digging deep into the army’s heritage for these new names, Assaulter is really fitting
Guys having fun...always pleasant to see 😊
This looks sick. Haven't seen you wear a battle belt in a while.
Please do a review of your updated battle belt 😎
lots of lumbar and spine issues from my military injury but it's getting stabilized so I'm getting more bold.
@@GarandThumbi got mine lifting heavy shit, yours sounds way cooler lmao
Injuries and getting old suck. I hope you get better and don't reinjure yourself.
GT: “Our favorite thing to do on this channel…” Micah: “Mag dump into trash?.?”
I see the trend of circumsizing the barrel to cut the legs off of velocity is alive and kicking.
9" bbl. ,+2700fps with 113 Grns, in a tool you can enter a door with....that's a devastating room broom.
cant wait till garand thumb gets a hand on brandon's finished ak-50 prototype
BROOOO AGREEED
Really enjoyed this video,
don't know why but I felt it was a classic Garand Thumb!
That is crazy velocity for a 9" holy shit lol im assuming those are the steel base? And good on sig for being honest on the barrel flex
as someone from Canada, I love your patch !
Yeah, it's epic! Just as cool as the rest of the chest rig IMO
That is like the Mike O’Hearn of guns right there
another absolutely perfect intro
Wake up babe, new FlannelDaddy just dropped
New Saint John featured 😮😮😮😮
Lol i said they're going to make a compact carbine variant. Here we are.
I may be mistaken but there was one on task and purpose RUclips a few years ago
Congrats on predicting that the sun will come up in the morning
You will be left blind, def, and a broken shoulder. Your target is going to see you clearly though,
Damn, it’s been soo long since I last came on here.
I miss you soo much The Great Garand Thumb, and also you’ve slightly added weight, I love that.
Big love from Nigeria sir...🇳🇬
Sorry, Canadian guy here. That half US half Canada patch on your chest rig is seriously cool!
Brandon Herrera showed the magazine malfunction when loaded aggressively which happens under stress.
St John looks like hes about to tie someone to a railroad track with a stache like that! Love it
I am an old school SIG fan; P226, P228, P229. etc. I own a SIG716i Tread and love it. However, I am NOT all things a SIG fan. I am on the fence about the SIG Spear in general and the military's choice in specific.
716i owner checking in, love mine
My Spear LT is my favorite gun!
@@decline1822 That's awesome. I think it's a good rifle.
556 classic and SP 2022 here. 🫡
Steel cased 110gr 308 out of the shorty AR 10 for the Spear Assaulter we have at home.
Big brother not even fielded yet and they already chopped it. Awesome
I would like to see Garand Thumb do a review of the XM-8 platform that was created to replace the M4 in the 2000s. It seems like many people have forgotten that the weapon system existed. I would love to see the guys get their hands on a real one and run it through some tests for SCIENCE.
