Appreciate the video, Chris! The Lowain and Yuel tips were particularly helpful to me, I'll definitely need to lab a reversal safe meaty now. One thing to note on your Siegfried tip: I would not recommend jumping to avoid the command grab unless you have a decent, mid-ranged gap between you and Sieg; otherwise, rolling covers almost all his options. When close enough, roll beats all 4 follow ups and is only punished if the Sieg knows to cancel their stance and grab you or do a low. If people start jumping against my orkan followups, I tend to get 50% of their life off of an anti-air combo, so I would not advise it.
I think you should also have mentioned that Belial 5U and Ultimate command grab has similar animation, so you should always be alert if his bar suddenly lose 50 meter if he does the parry animation. I'm mostly aware of this but my lack of proper fighting game experience that I always forget or just too focused and attempt to grab instead just to get punished.
I dunno, I think telling someone to just neutral jump no matter what is better. It's a universal correct answer that gets you a good punish. Making it more complicated by asking people to look at meter just adds more to the mental stack
Thank you for mentioning the full combo opportunity against belial's parry, it always bugs me when people just say "grab him" when you can absolutely kill him for that lol
For the record Zooey's mixup is only fake if they don't use the other options. She can go for 66M instead of autocombo to beat blocking low then switching high, and of course she can just 2A to beat starting with standing block to avoid the 66M
Yuel's wake up retreating hanaarashi is hard to punish midscreen if she has room to back up if they cancel it with third dance. Most everything that can reach her to punish the backup are mids that gets countered. I remember getting hit by something that reached AND wasn't a mid but I think it was a Cags trap.
Roll is a high-risk response, so it definitely pays to be really careful with it. It doesn't work against L (he'll be +7, which gives him a chance to punish or throw you back), you'll get your turn back against parry (you're +4), and it very handily beats H follow-up and the grab (largely because the grab frames won't start soon enough to catch the roll). The problem is the 5th follow-up, which is to cancel the stance. A roll against a cancel will get you hit by a counter-hit c.H, which is one of Siegfried's most powerful combo starters (if not the most powerful one). When I'm playing Siegfried, the roll is actually the response I'm most hoping to see because it often translates to insane damage.
Thanks for the info. Hope to react to Sieg. Not sure of a meaty for my main (Soriz) vs Yuel reversal, but maybe shimmy or 5L. Good point on Lowain. I did all Situational Training except a few in part 3. Tough to remember, though. Solid points on A.Belial, Zoey (blocking), Cag (dodge>2H), Belial (neutral jump) & Vas (throw). Great vid.
should note that sieg can immediate cancel 22 and continue pressure/go for a grab if you keep blocking, obviously this loses to mashing so act accordingly
As an Avatar Belial main, lemme give you the ultimate Wings (22x) counter move...Just don't respect it lmao. Run up dp if you wish, there's very little he can do if you ACTUALLY run up to him since his only answers to that are either: 1. Drop with L, meaning he's still in the air for a few seconds and will still get hit with the DP 2. Do his fully charged laser, which is easily reactable cuz of the kinda long charge time, meaning you can dash thru it and intercept him as he drops down
Just pay attention to what Stance she is in. Dawnfly (sword in sheathe) has long range normals & specials, a command dash, and a DP. Her fast ranged slash special has huge recovery on whiff, so jumps & dodges will give you huge reward if you call her out on it. Freeflutter (sword out) has shorter range but faster buttons, has a Parry that can't block lows (no DP), her triple slash special is always minus so pressure her after blocking, and her grounded Crescent Slash is very reactable for an anti-air. Also she two different Teleport Ult Skills, the one in Freeflutter is very slow and can be anti-aired on reaction.
Honestly i don't even conisder yuel's backhop a knowledge check. Every yuel i've ever seen either stance cancels it or get smacked during the attack. It's such a big dumb slow move and absolutely horrid on block. anyone above a C rank should be able to just deal with it on reaction.
So the counter to that armoured walk is just the humble regular throw... Vaseraga mains in suicide watch rn
5:08 I had no idea you could grab vaseraga during that

@@7hammerkirby For the most part, I just think it's a good minor thing to mention.

Love this series! Thank for the video. I especially didn't know how to deal with that Cagliostro attack lol
Thank you! Glad it helped!

As a main Gran I love to see him as the example : ) thank you so much for this kind of videos chief!
Glad you enjoyed!
For Siegfried you could also roll during the gap before the follow ups except for the grab. It works for me but I may be wrong.
Roll is a high-risk response, so it definitely pays to be really careful with it.

Roll beats most options from the H special. Even command grab for me
I didn't know you can throw Vaseraga, thanks for the tip
It won't save you from me😈
No problem!
It should be noted however that if the Vaseraga player does a delayed H follow-up the grab will whiff
These are very helpful videos! This game has a lot of knowledge checks so it’s nice to not have to lab them all ourself.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. Hope to react to Sieg.

thank you for all this information
Any time! My pleasure
Against Seigfried's 22X most characters with a 7F 2M/2U can actually beat every option except parry.
another amazing video!!! thank you so much
You are so welcome!

@@Chris_FDP will win against the command grab too. Trust me... it happens to me unless I bait out the DP safely first XD
Another great vid!
Glad you enjoyed!
great content, new plyaer here, find myself main anila, hope I can be better
Glad you liked it!
v helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Most Yuels will never do the backflip in the corner, its pretty much suicide because you can just mash her out of it.
I just did it in the corner bc it was easy to record the OS vs DP
🐐
You too!
Moar knowledge checks please 😭
No Narmaya...?

Bad on block if they go low, but otherwise H hanaarashi is +2
Wait, people hanaarashi in the corner?? Thats like a death sentence wtf
No they usually don’t, but that was the easiest way to set this in training mode
the zooey one was unneeded she is already suffering
let her have something
