    I have about half of the pieces that lit up including 2 candlesticks, the juicer candy dish etc. I would LOVE the pitcher and glasses!

    Is it really irradiated?

      @JessSharp-eyed77 4 месяца назад

      Yes it is. They went crazy back then putting it in everything! Uranium, plutonium, and radium! They also toured the country giving out X-rays to ppl for stuff like acne! Look up radithor. They gave it to ppl for like aches and pains! A rich man's jaw fell off!

    You posted this 4 months ago, but the algorithm just threw it at me. I have questions...if anyone sees this. Does anyone collect anymore? The radium glass isn't harmful unless broken (so I was told) and from what I can tell no one collects antique anything nowadays.

    Where is everyone finding these pieces? I keep looking at goodwill and many local thrift stores and antique stores. Never find much.

      For me it’s very rare to find it at my local thrift anymore. Antique stores have the most to offer but things tend to be expensive 💚

    How is that legal to sell?

    • @Sweatyturtletoez
      @Sweatyturtletoez 2 месяца назад +4

      It contains a very small amount of uranium and emits low levels of radiation and they didn’t really know what they were doing back then sorry I’m a nerd

    • @Xiiki

      @@SweatyturtletoezNo, they used it in glass back then as uranium was a pointless ore at the time that happened to colour glass green/yellow when infused.
      Also it *WAS* illegal to sell during WW2 as America needed uranium for nuclear bomb testing, it’s not illegal to sell anymore.
      Also, all selling of uranium for its glowing effects and not its radioactive effects are legal, if I melted it down to harvest the uranium for a nuclear bomb then it would be illegal.

      @@Sweatyturtletoezalso “low” levels kinda vary, most are around 2-3% while Vaseline glass is between 0.2-25%

    czy te przedmioty tylko swiecą w uv, czy też wykazują promieniowanie związane z rudą uranu? jest wiele szkiel swiecących pod wplywem swiatła uv, ale nie jest to szklo ktore zawiera pirwuastek uran. tylko nieliczne szklo swiecące na zielono, jest szklem uranowym. czy mierzy pani poziom promieniowania?
