The Philippine Air Force (PAF) (Filipino: Hukbong Himpapawid ng Pilipinas) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Initially formed as part of the Philippine Army as the Philippine Army Air Corps (PAAC) in 1935, the PAAC eventually saw combat during World War 2 and was formally separated from the Army in 1947 as a separate service branch of the AFP under Executive Order No. 94. At present, the PAF is responsible for both defending the Philippine airspace, and conducting aerial operations throughout the Philippines, such as close air support operations, combat air patrols, aerial reconnaissance missions, airlift operations, helicopter tactical operations, special operations, and aerial humanitarian operations, which includes search and rescue operations. The PAF has also carried out various missions within the country and abroad.

Why didn't the Philippines choose Indian Tejas?
actually it was between f16 or the jas gripen and the ph choose the gripen and india doesn't have alot of tejas it cost alot of money to develop

Then it will be better if they choose f16 or gripen cuz we know the capability of those MRF, if they choose tejas then it's nothing but scrape metal for othe MRF like j-16 etc if might something happen

Philippines before was all AIR but no FORCE. Now there all AIR TALKS but with some FORCE. We have been reactive to everything but we must be PROACTIVE to all our military

You're wrong , aren't you considering Bronco and last squadron of F5 Northrop donated by Taiwan as force of our air and other helicoptes that's capable of gun and rockets? How it differ from just a light fighter jet and recently arrived Brazilian made aircraft? And just a few numbers of attack helicopters? The force then and now are just almost equal but difference is just the advancement cuz we have to adjust our capability everytime the era passed by but infact the force then and now are almost equal. Maybe you're pointing out that we are more capable and advance rather than before but not as far as our capability before

@@boboako9055 kahit ano pang sabihin mo hindi sapat ang lahat ng sinabi mo kumpara sa lakas ng karatig bansa natin..maniniwala ako sayo kung meron tayong sapat na bilang ng mga MRF kahit 200+ at attack drone.. dagdagan mo na din ng kahit 6 unit ng attack Submarine para sa navy 60+ na destroyer at corvette..malamang pwede mo ng sabihin na medyo may laban na tayo..pero kc sa totoo lang naman malakas ang loob natin dahil kahit kulang tayo sa gamit marami naman tayong kakampi at don tayo nakalalamang..👍🏼👍🏼
Sana naman bumili na ang Pilipinas ng maayos na jet fighter para hindi na maging saling pusa sa joint patrol at military exercises.

yeah. the acquisition process takes a really long time. For example when the Philippines wanted the Brahmos missiles from India, it was in 2019 when they wanted to purchase the missiles, formerly signed to acquire them in 2022, and it's only now in 2024 that the missile batteries are being delivered. So I don't really blame you if you're always seeing the same news in the form of updates lol. There's a reason why the Philippine Horizon Program has a 15 year (if not more) duration, it just takes a really long time for any military

Why the PAF aircraft are all made of different manufacturers. Is so sad to realized when ordering parts and tech support. There is no standardization. The only standard is corruption, sad to say.

This is to ensure we always have assets in operation. Say we gpt all assets from one maufacturer from russia , israel or any other contry and that country goes to war. Do you think we will be in the list of priorities to acquire parts or services? Another thimg is what if our diplomatic relationship with a country supplying us with weapons goes sour? All military assets will be grounded without spare parts. So that is some of the reasons why we acquire assets from different countries

Key word, OLD. How sure are we that it would last long, and even if US is our ally, they will not give them for free, and they are still expensive, even if they're already old, that's why we buy from other countries because its cheaper, and new, even if not top of the line.

Well you haven't heard thr news buddy, the Philippines and Sweden's deal is already finished ..... It's on the news TV5 and it was announced by the National Security Commission ..... The Saab Gripen 39 is now gonna be the official MRF of the Philippines in the next coming years
