This video features the CLA45s AMG which is one of the AMG performance versions of the Mercedes CLA. My car is the 2022 CLA45s AMG Coupe but you can also get the CLA45s AMG Shooting brake or even the A45s Hatch back.

I do share your enthusiasm for the car. Mine is now 2 years old and just had it serviced (only 13,500 miles). It is a joy to drive and the acceleration / exhaust noise is addictive. Definitely would buy another!

@ABAUTO Shell V power is better than BP it has a higher octane at 99 compared to 97 for the BP fuel.
Omg you’ve not been anywhere in your car. I’ve had my Cla45s for just over 4 months and I’ve done over 5,000 miles already. Great car to drive. Get out and drive your car!

Great video Adam. Also the only thing that pees me off with the cla is the small fuel tank. Travelled across Europe in mine this year, and spent far to much time on service station forecourts!!
Ah! I bet you had a lot of stops! It’s quite rare to have so much power and such a small tank so you really do spend a lot of time filling up! Mine gets a full tank once a week from my work commute.

Great to sit in the driving seat. It will be awesome to nearly feel the power in vr. great purchase for your channel. Had some great news today and it never happens to me but my car order was for the cla 45s 4matic+ not the plus model but for some reason I have got the cla 45s 4matic+plus model at no extra cost because of a price lock guarantee when I ordered well over a year ago. My patience paid off I am getting a £10,000 more Mercedes at no extra cost to me. I have been told that I am so lucky to get this upgrade and was asked if I am happy to accept the deal even though my original seat choice has changed to all black leather with red stichting I said I do not care if the seats are pink. Delivery confirmed today😊😊😊😊 really happy days so glad I held on. Look forward to your future streams 👍👍
Try to only use 99 octane on my A45s, Tesco momentum is my choice of preference 😅

@@ABAUTOAMG Yes, many non car enthusiasts will argue that cars are a waste of money, but that is absolutely untrue. Driving an AMG is an experience, and experiences last a lifetime.

Great new Video. Even if I could afford to drive an AMG every day, it would be absolutely unsatisfactory because here in Austria most people almost always drive 1/3 below the maximum speed limit. Nobody knows why🤬🤣😊
Thanks Franky, to be honest we get to that a lot here too. The car in front of me when I was playing with the ambient light modes was doing under 30mph in a 70mph zone. Luckily we have a lot of dual roads so you can easily get past.

Great video as always 👍 have you had sqeeky brakes yet? And 'low coolant' warning light on? I've had both fixed at the dealers, they changed the pads and that sorted that problem out, but the coolant lights on again 🙄🤬 fantastic car though 👍
Thanks Craig, Ahyes! Brakes were squeaky during run in but got better. Was not concerned because the demo car I had before purchasing had same issue. The coolant light seems to be very common. Mine came on about 11 months in. Simple top up and it’s not come back. Seems to all be ok but have been keeping an eye. The car passed all the safety checks during the first service with flying colours. It was nice to see and film all the extensive checks the technicians do even on a service A. Hopefully get the full video up this month :)
30 psi to get that power...what will compression look like at 70k miles. No one talks about that
Love your videos I have a35 AMG, couldn't justify 20k difference and 60k spec for spec at least a cla is didn't and a saloon body 👍👌

anything on check engine light for the 2018 c220 d ? Mine went off temporarily when I got the app but back on!
That’s pretty expensive. I paid 81€ here in Germany just yesterday which is around 69 pounds.
Fuel prices have been very up and down here in the UK past few years. Luckily they are a bit lower again now. I think 69 pounds currently should fill the tank so sounds similar.
whats the difference in using premium and normal??
It mostly the octane level. Depending on your country the octane level for regular may be lower or higher. Here in the UK our regular is 95 while in some country’s it may be lower. Many performance cars require 95 or higher so it’s good to be aware with how high your regular fuel is. The benefits of going for premium and high octane levels here in the UK are much smaller. We have just switched over to e10 fuel which is 10% ethanol, it used to be 5% and some of our older cars can’t use the 10%. That’s another incentive too since premium fuel has less ethanol. It an age old debate how much premium fuel helps or performs better. It’s certain that the octane level should be 95+ though in a high performance car.

And the e10 will eat your hoses and is bad for your engine in general on the long run, it 'lubricate' your engine less.

I have a Mercedes on a 2020 plate but it’s the baby of the AMG bunch, I have an AMG A35.
As a rule I have always stuck with VWs until now.
One thing I have learnt is how expensive it is to tax these sports hatches.
Just taxed mine and it’s close to 300 pounds just for 6 months 😮.
But I’m not letting that worry me to much.
Concerning the AMG A45s well that’s what you call a proper AMG and of course with a hand built engine.
For me unfortunately way way out of my league hence the reason for my A35.
But just to add both cars are beautifully made with a stunning interior.

Just another perfect video good job! I'm enjoying my CLA 45S amg so much also 2 weeks 2300 km already, I just break in the engine and did a launch control.... this car is absolute beast! However I cannot do an emotional start for some reason... I push and hold left flappy pedal and press start stop, but the car just do a normal start...
Hey Nikola thank you! So nice to hear you are loving the car! Congrats on the brake in! Launch control is insane! Can’t wait to film some POV launches! The main problem with emotion start on the 45s is that it can only be done on a warmed up engine due to the safety features since it’s quite intense! Have you tried doing a little drive to warm the car up then pulling over to try emotion start? Does not take long to warm up. It’s great when returning to car if doing a quick trip to shot or after filling up.
@@ABAUTOAMG I will try that out thank you :). I don’t know about yours but mine constantly sit on 87 engine and 66 gearbox Celsius, but at the end im driving at 5 Outside temp and in Comfort, maybe if I push her a lot it will go above 90..

Holy shit, you’re getting screwed for the price of petrol. That same tank would cost a bit under 60 pounds (converted from AUD) in Australia for 98 V-Power. I thought we were getting ripped off, lol.

With that 45L petrol how manyy mile you do on normal drive around Milton Keynes Road. Just want to no.
No problem, it’s around 270-300 miles. I think best I’ve done is just under 500 miles on one tank on a long 3 hour motorway drive
My heart broke a bit when I heard 24mpg, I’m coming across from an x6 M50D because it’s big and thirsty.. auto trader had me believing I’d be between 30-38mpg with the 2015 cla 45?
A 2015 cla 45 is a completely different car to the the 2019-2023 CLA45s. Has a whole new platform and even a different engine so it’s tricky to compare. Best mpg I’ve got is 44 on a 3 hour motorway drive. I average 22-24 though day to day.
@@ABAUTOAMG I suspected this, I’m newly on the market for one so still figuring out what years they made certain changes etc, for example there’s many different ‘models’ as apposed to BMWs ‘m sport’ or ‘se’
How come you have the exhaust option on your steering wheel? For some reason I don’t have that as a cycle through option. I’m in Australia and I have a 2021 model. Weird, the only way I can get all the noise is by putting it in race mode.
Hey Nick, that’s strange! Here in the UK all the 45s models have it. Do you have the exhaust button in the center button area (around the little arm rest for the touchpad)? I have it down there too.
@@ABAUTOAMG Nope it’s blank where it should be, I suspect this has something to do with noise laws here in AU, it’s missing completely yet in race mode it’s all enabled…very strange! Thanks for replying 😊
Those fake engine noises fed in through the speakers is annoying. And apparently those pops are fake too 😢
Can you use regular unleaded as normal? The merc garage in Warrington I’m getting mine from only use this and said it’s fine
Yep regular is safe to use. I used it for a bit when there was a shortage and had no option for premium and it was no problem at all. The fuel cap says e10 or e5 is safe to use. I prefer to use premium when I can but regular is fine.
