I like the theory that James bond is actually just a notorious, distraction agent. Like, he's always being caught and seen and everyone knows him by name and look so the theory is they send him in to essentially distract the enemy while the REAL agents sneak in and get the job done
He’s more of a hitman/soldier honestly. He doesn’t gather much intelligence on the threat as blow shit up and shoot people to stop the threat.

What a fun trip down memory lane. I loved the Bond games as a kid, especially Under Fire and Nightfire.

The 'Calypso' is actually a real gun called the Calico M960. It's an ugly, unwieldly, unreliable weapon.

Fun fact; you can collect the sub security code for a bond moment in one of the rooms that has a button like the turret room. It also changes where you start in the next level.

I know Goldeneye Reloaded wasn't received very well, but if you want another 007 game to play, I've been play Goldeneye Reloaded on RPCS3 and it seems pretty flawless. Idk your hardware, but at least for me, I haven't had any issues with Goldeneye Reloaded. Might be worth trying.
"James Bond" is not a code name. In _On Her Majesty's Secret Service,_ Bond retires, and shortly after, he receives a phone call. He answers it "007 here", then corrects himself "James Bond", meaning that his only code name is "007" and "James Bond is his real name which he is keeping as a civilian.
Why does he tell everyone his name is James Bond though? Isn't he really giving himself away?
@@MickyD That's never really explained. All the agents seem to do that. Bill Fairbanks, James Bond, and Alec Trevelyan... They all use their real names on missions.

Indeed. 007 is the codename. There's a reason MI6 has a place called the 00-Section.
James Bond is just his name first and foremost. It'd be kinda silly if James Bond was his codename as when he marries Tracy, she takes on his name as Tracy Bond or Teresa Bond if we're getting serious about this.

The GameBoy “James Bond 007” would be worth a look I think. It's inexplicably a Zelda-Like and actually kinda good.
Edit: A quick look at Nioh would be interesting, more to hear Micky D comment on the voice acting than anything.

Also, a good classic 007 game waay back on the GameCube era. 👍 I also replayed both Nightfire (almost similar to N64-The World Is Not Enough), Agent Under Fire, & other retro classic games for 2 weeks.. 😼 Until now I got a new controller to go back playing on PS4. Anyways, nice video. 😸
The Mediterranean Crisis level is an interesting one, there are two ways to finish Poseidon if I remember right which unlocks the the alternate start to Mediterranean Crisis, the difference is that Bond starts off elsewhere on the level (away from the prison cell) and starts off completely undetected, it gives you the jump on some enemies, I remember that way making the level alot easier at the beginning
Unless I'm mistaken that's the only time in this game where there's two alternate ways a level starts depending on what you do on the level before, I don't recall that being a thing on any level in Nightfire or Everything Or Nothing (Excluding the choices between the Porsche and the bike aha)

Yeah, there is. On Poseidon where you sneak to the left side by the cloning machine, there's a cage/safety glass with a green button to activate the lasers on & the gun turrets fire on enemies. By the computer desk, there's a verification card/code near that location before you go to the Submarine with Agent Zoe.
Ohhh interesting. I'll have to look into that alternative path when I can. Good stuff!

Maybe i had a Bad copy of the game but the i could never beat the final boss because it never triggered the events that lead to you beating him, always ended up running out of ammo. Edit, Also watching you play through the 3 bond games again made me go out and buy Agent under fire and Nightfire.
Just for the shits you should play the old ps2 Futurama game. The Fry missions at the beginning are sort of like a janky Max Payne, but they're fun. Rest of the game is not worth playing tho.

The Calypso is actually a real gun, but the real one is called the Calico m950. It's a weird gun that looks ugly and I don't really know a lot more about it. It's got a very strange helical magazine that makes it look like the Airbus Beluga. It's a handgun, I believe, but the devs thought the same as I did and expected it to be some kind of SMG. There's a carbine version of it, but that's about it. Strange gun, cool gun, wish it was in more games.

Finishing the game without using alt fire modes, well done! Swapping the silencer on/off, using the grenade launcher on the op rifle (FSU-4 i believe). This was my first game on PS2 and i've got some really fond memories of it.

I think the furthest I got on From Russia with Love was the level where you are on the turret in the boat going through the sewers. Also, you could do a one off video on the PS2 version of Quantum of Solace. It's terrible but funny to think back on. For that one I remember the only thing that kept me from finishing it was a stupid difficult QTE near the end.
