There is another video on here of a guy who used a "sticky" phone mount for this...seemed to work well. I find all of these after I have ordered a tablet mount!

That's is so cool, and nifty! Great idea bro. Tell me about the $45 tablet - what kind of tablet? Was it new or used? If new, can you provide a link for that please? Great video... DJ SOUL FORCE

+DJ SOUL FORCE The table is an ASUS Nexus 7 which you can search on Ebay and find them all day at very low prices. I got mine used in like new condition running Lollipop 5.0.. I think DJI recommends the Nexus 7 II as compatible with the App. I did have to download the GO App APK file and do a manual install on the tablet because Google Play Store kept giving me error messages that the App was not compatible with my tablet. After the install I got it connected to the Phantom but the maps are not showing for some reason but everything works just fine on my Galaxy S3 phone. After doing a search on Google, I see that there are lots of folks having the map issue as well on various devices, so I'm just trying to find the fix to that before actually using the tablet. The Acer Inconia is another really inexpensive tablet to find on Ebay as well and there are tons of other 7inch tablets in around the 50 - 70 ball park where I like to hang out ..lol

contactpq With the Nexus tablets, I heard something about whether it's activated by your phone carrier or not, determines if you'll have GPS or not(?) I'm using my HTC smartphone to fly with but it's too small. I want a small & cheap tablet but don't want to add another line on my phone plan just to fly the Phantom. Can you fly your Phantom without seeing the map?

Everything works with the tablet except the maps for now .. the tablet has gps and the maps work just fine if I load them through my wifi. Some other users with the same problem on a number of different mobile devices have suggested that if I leave my cellphone mobile hotspot connected so the tablet can connect to it while flying, it will load the maps .. but I just want everything working the way it ought to ..lol...as stated earlier the nexus 7 II is on DJI's list of compatibles and it runs Android 4.2 or 4 ... so I was wondering if Lollipop 5.0 is the culprit .. but I've also seen in the various forums that even some Iphone and Ipad users have run in the same issues as well .. Im watching another tablet on ebay now, an Acer Iconia for around $50 running Adroid 4.2 .. I'll probably try it .. if they don't work for my phantom, I'll just list them back on Ebay and sell to get my money back ..lol.. I'll keep at it until I find one that works just right (-:

contactpq With the exception of the map, are you able to fly the quad & receive the video downlink, if you're not connected (like in a field) to your wifi or hotspot? ...just curious. My phone is a HTC, not on the DJI list of compatibles but works perfect! I thought most Android devices auto update to the latest version or maybe it's back to that "phone carrier activated" shit!!! I'm just collecting info because I want a nice size, cheap tablet for my Standard, but don't wanna buy the wrong shit or have to pay for another line with the phone co. - ya know? How much for Nexus 7 II? Thanks bro.

+DJ SOUL FORCE Remember to put a case on your tablet cause it might fall down and it may still work after it falls its only velcro ! :D
