Today I decided to take on one of the hardest Mario Odyssey Challenges ever created. Throughout the entire game cappy will constantly be chasing me and if he touches me at any point I'll die. Thanks to Smallant for challenging me to the mod!

Its so interesting to me how fir had much less trouble with the dragon but smant made lost look easy. Really showcases their different skill sets
Been a while since I have seen his run, but I kind of feel like a big difference here is that Fir was a lot more slow and strategic in his attempts at the dragon, where Smant just kind of threw himself at the thing over and over again for a good while
what you dont realize is that fir watched smant do this. He immediately was implementing the strats smant figured out. Not to say that fir isnt insane at this game, just that he wasnt going in completely blind.
@@MrStoam Yeah knowledge does a lot and smallant had to use a very specific strategy to beat the dragon which he used.

@@adinom687 He says in that exact part, I should have studied smants run MORE. He def analyzed the dragon fight well bc that was the obviously hard part, overlooking the door at the beginning as you wouldn’t think about it being a challenge until it happens.
He was also immedialey using the moving tactics basically immediately that smant figured out, with cappy still on your head.
smallant's death to second ratio was a death every 105.54 seconds - 1:1:42:39 time and 877 deaths
while firs was a death every 62.79 seconds - 10:31:05 time and 603 deaths

You forgot that by going into first person view, mario faces the way the camera was facing, making it a lot easier to turn around without having to use the left stick

After seeing both you and smant play this I’m interested to see how 2 player mode would interact with it. I think it’d be funny if one of you was chasing the other down as Cappy.

The editing in lost was on point I love the deaths to the beat of the music and GAMEPLAY

The buildup to getting the final hit on the Dragon was done INCREDIBLY well, part of me genuinely wanted to clap when you finally managed to get the final hit

the editor editing the damage sounds to the wii musig during the klepto montage was soooo genius, I laughed out loud. Amazing :D
Just to show I know too much: that specific track is from Mario Kart 7 for Wuhu Loop, and is a remix of the Wii Sports Resort theme.
I loved this video, but want to specifically point out the editing on this one. The timing with the music sync like at 18:42 (deaths, failed captures, etc) was superb. Great videos as always

Challenge idea! Do the globe storage glitch at the start of every kingdom and see how far you can get through each kingdoms. I already know some kingdoms that are possible and not possible. Story moons give cappy back automatically but you have to go do the glitch again after you collect the moon. Boss fight moons count as long as you enter the fight without cappy. Also, lake kingdom is possible… barely. Good luck for anyone that try’s this.

To be honest, my favourite part of the video was Lost Kingdom, especially because of those deaths that were cut and edited to fit to the music beats perfectly, I always love it when creators put in that extra work to align gaming scenes to background music. :)

That’s interesting that Fir couldn’t change his angle mid air while jumping. When I saw CJYA playing this mod he was able to fly through Lost by just jumping and changing the angle mid air. I wonder if it is related to throwing crappy before/after getting Klepto’d?

Fir could've easily cheated lost kingdom by turning while rolling. As demostrated, you can change direction while rolling. So just backflip to a place with enough space and roll whereever you want
Now I struggle to imagine if doing this and Superstar mode at the exact same time is possible
