I love these bike reviews. I’m always interested in what is new. I missed my chance to attend the Sea Otter Classic where there are a lot new bike parts introduced so your videos fill that gap. Pinarello makes beautiful bikes no doubt. This bike is both an artistic & a technical beauty. I think I’d blow out my knees trying to turn a 58 tooth chain ring. Yikes! Thank you GNC for the up close look at pro bikes.

Would be really cool if GCN could interlace future pro bike videos with clips of the pro bikes in action. The whole time I’m watching this I imagine Ganna flying on this thing of beauty!
We'd love to be able to - but sadly this would mean we would have to Georestrict a lot of the videos, as we don't have rights to show most racing footage worldwide!

Nice to be on a team with big money & great bikes! The advantages of riding for big teams these days are real perks for your career. Especially for someone who is a real talent. Not quite a level playing field, though.
It's amazing how in this day of marginal gains , when someone spins the rear wheel on a lot of top level disc wheels U can see them oscillating up and down slightly because they are out of balance , must be able to get them Smoother for a few seconds gain !?!?!
I don’t know if the wheel bring slightly out of balance would make any difference when ridden. You would need to balance the wheel with weights, like a car wheel, to get a better balanced wheel. I suspect that they don’t do this because it makes no difference.
I agree that there are gains to be had here. Just look at it lurch about. You wouldn't intentionally unbalance your wheel so why not balance it. It is likely to take less than 20g per wheel. At the speeds he rides, there must be an impact on performance, especially with bike handling.
yeah this Pina Bolide bike is fast.....still holds the record for the fastest bike leg at Kona's 180km bike course ridden by Cameron Wurz (who currently rode for the grenidier team during his off season) few years back....
Not really, it's not a mountain tt bike. The low gear of 46X30 is the same as 42x26 which was low for pro's in the '70's/'80's, on steel bikes which were over 10kg in the main with not aero advantage, on a high mountain stage. And again it's the same as 53X25 which is a normal high gear for pro's on rolling stages. I doubt he'd be on 58X12 unless the road was pan flat with a tailwind or no wind or a downhill section or slight depression.
With the TT bike you have to add on the length of the aero bars, to where the grips are, compared to the hoods on a road race bike. It's a bit like the equivalent virtual top tube length to a 56cm drop bar road bike frame for a flat bar hybrid is about 62cm, because of where the grips are on the hybrid relative to the hoods on a road bike (and even then there's always going to be a longer reach to the hoods). The other difference with the TT bike is how steep the seat tube is and how far forward the saddle is mounted on the seat post - I suppose it's just all completely different sizing.
Why are you measuring some points and not the points regulated by the UCI like saddle nose -> bottom allowed minimum 5cm when I am correct) bracket, or armpads to extension front height (allowed 10cm i think), or 75cm (+5cm) ...
I think it's to do with being able to use a regular rear mech without a clutch - which is a bit more efficient. It also allows for a more optimum chainline, again for a little bit more efficiency! (I'm sure it's something they've put hours and hours of research into!)
To be correct, this isn't the fastest bike in the world, this is the fastest UCI approved bicycle in the world. And - as said the video, some parts of it are now forbidden.
Wait…. 8.93 kg? That’s impossible! Durianrider says anything with rim brakes has to be weighted down to meet UCI regulations. TT bike or not, as long as it has rim brakes it doesn’t matter. No other components matter. Should be a featherweight ..

My thoughts exactly. Only fastest bike because the bionic gentleman who’s on it.

More alloy than I thought there would be.
And since the pros use a chain catcher, that means I can use one, right?
