Sweetwater Terrific review and demo
Sweetwater is he ok? Doesn’t look healthy compared to when I used to see him with TC
Sold my Helix to get this. People are always saying it costs too much. Nobody seems to say that the Helix is too expensive. To me, the results that I get with the Ox are far superior to anything I ever got from the Helix. I know they are very different products but ultimately I never got a sound that I was happy with from the Helix. Every sound I get from the Ox just works.
Chris Jones I feel the exact same way. I’ve had the Helix Rack and Native for a few years and I can’t get anything close to the “ready for radio” sounds you get with UAD software / hardware. Even without the Ox, the UAD amps and effects are, in my opinion, much more dynamic and wide in the stereo field than anything the dedicated modelers attempt.

I sold my Silver Jubilee along with a bunch of other guitar gear when I needed money for my kids' college. I was so glad it's in the UAD Marshall bundle. I didn't want to sell the amp, but after A/B'ing the plugin and amp, I was able to let it go. Recently got the Suhr amps. Haven't put them through the paces, though. If they'd just model a vocal harmonizer.
Oh! Tore switched from TC to UA
A really smart move if you ask me 👍🏼
These two guys are always a pleasure to listen to!
Have the ox and torpedo reload. Ox is just amazing. New update is awesome. Great guitar player to show case so many different styles of playing.
Considering this but got torpedo live also.. you think this is better?
Tore is up there with Andy PGS on the mount rushmore as the face of gear demo/selling over the past decade
I hope they add some EV’s, especially a 12L in a Thiele and one in an open back like an old Mesa Mark.
dont think UA caters much to the high gain guys. Mostly pedalheads.
Love the eye contact
Tore! the second coming
From TC to UA... Thank you Behringer....
Does Behringer something to do with UA? I don’t think so... or I must say , i didn’t know that
@@dandyism7288 No/ Behringer bought TC for their patents and then drop the company including ppl.
@@JudgeFredd That sucks for the working people.

Another reason I won't own Behringer. I like to support companies who actually R & D as opposed to reverse engineering (copying) and building with the cheapest parts and labor. I do want a Midas M32, though, and the whole reason the X-32 came about is that the company that owns Behringer, also owns Midas. But, at least, Midas did their own development.
Tore is amazing. So comprehensive and well spoken. Great review. Thanks sweetwater.
18:10 I believe the plural of "Ox" is "Oxen"
Version 1.2 start 10:43
I really wish this thing had MIDI IO. It's nice that UA added the footswitch features, but can it not be set to footswitch through your rigs? It looks like you only get to control your effects section. That's disapointing.
Love my ox and the new update... the guitar tones sound very brash or harsh here though... my tones are very pleasing to the ear.
\m/ ox Rocks \m/
I first became aware about the ox looking for an attenuator. But ive realized that it does an incredible amount of useful things. But yikes the price.
I...must....have!
What’s the name of the song in the beginning?
Tore is awesome
Great video, thanks! Loving the new updates!
Seems a lot of customers are having wifi problems with the ox. Disappointing that UA haven’t addressed this seeing it’s been out for a couple years now and it’s pretty expensive
No problems at all if you just connect directly to the OX! ;-)
No problems here...
I skimmed through the video, but didn’t see the 27 preset rigs listed anywhere. If that’s in there and someone could provide a time stamp, I’d appreciate it 🤘🏻🎸
It’s a subliminal thing, you have to listen to the entire presentation.
You have to wear 3D glasses to see it.
Why is he using 100W amp setting in the ox app for the Fender Deluxe?
With the new foot switch options, do we lose the undocumented looper?
@@rikkousa Firstly, I haven't installed the update. I use a Boss FS-5U foot switch connected with mono patch cable. Hit it once it starts recording, hit it again it plays back, hit again it stops and the recording is erased. Great for fine tuning a preset or for basic noodling/jamming when a more complicated looper is unnecessary.
I play out of Friedman small box 50 which has great tone for 80's METAL. With the Ox it has TOTALLY enhanced the tones and sounds KILLER!! It's totally sounds like your in the studio!!!
Love the way my RIG sounds!!!!!
The downside to the Ox box? NO FOOT SWITCH PEDAL? HELP ME OUT,PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Tor. When is the OX App going to work in Landscape on an iPad?
TORE!!!!!!
So I could crank a 100 w Marshall in my bedroom with this? Serious question bc lol. I played shows (when the world was open)
Yes, you can turn the cab down or silent, or no cab connected at all
Great video. How did you get the stereo output, for example at 32:30?
Would be nice if my ox would connect to wifi . I meet all the system requirements but still can’t get it to connect . I have a 1500$ dead weight . Anyone planning to buy an ox should read the forums about the wifi sometimes working to completely stops working and uad support is even stomped . I have the corresponding messages if anyone is interested . Uad admits I meet all the system requirements, but insist that it’s not the ox and that their own personal ox at home work and connect without issue . If that is the case why am I and many others not able to connect their ox after following the instructions and meeting all wifi and system requirements?
Ughhhh, I want this.
For the love of 25:52 - made my day one Vai better
The Two Notes Torpedo does the same and much more. Its cheaper too. Check out the WALL of SOUND that is free but comes with a bunch of cabs too. Accepts 3rd party IRs too. You can have up to 100 IRs if you want in any mic position any where. Multiple mics on the same cab too.
The Torpedo handles up to 150 watts too.
Granted, the Ox is a bit more of and all in one solution but Two Notes does make one like it.
It's an attenuator. It's a room heater.
Using a footswitch, are effects turned on/off pre or post? Meaning, will delay/reverb tails be cut off or not?
Hi. When you turn an effect off, it will cut all trails off, as well. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. Thanks for the interest!

@@sweetwater Ah, ok. Thanks, Chris!
Real guitarist talk; Metally stuff.....
I miss Tore doing all those Artist presets for the TC. Hope he got an equity deal. This pre-Covid is kind of quaint.. At least at this point Tore and my guitar skills are about par. Less intimidating than a Greg Koch or even Andy..
Can you get a stereo "double tracker" sound from the 1/4" line outputs? I mean the way you can do with Keeley 30ms ADT, TC Electronic Mimiq or Strymon DECO.
Your not going to get highly specialized effects .For instance..Only a Strymon Deco does the Deco.
Was hoping for an attenuator demo
It's quieter... Done.
Can I use the OX by itself and plug my Guitar straight in into my daw? ( to get the sounds) Or do I need a Guitar Head also?
Hi, Brandon. The OX only does cab emulation so it won't work without an amp connected to it. The point is to take the tube amp you know and love and be able to silently record it without having to mic up a cabinet. If you want something that would replace an amp entirely and allow you to record directly you'd want to check out things like the Quad Cortex, Kemper, or Line 6 Helix.
Thanks for your interest!

All of those would have sounded better if switched to the 50W setting. Most if not all were on 100W, and the Fender is less than 50.
At 29:00 Mitch comments ‘what we are hearing through the monitors’, any idea what the monitors are that are so neutral they can reproduce all these cabinet sounds?
Your favorite headphones should be able to tell you what this device is doing
I'm disappointed he's not using a PolyTune Clip.
so you can't use the foot switch to switch rigs? that's a bummer :/
It seems odd to me that when it comes to the Ox, folks who would probably claim to hear the difference between differently figured top woods of the same species aren't bothered by the obvious digital artifacts present in the attenuated output signal, especially with clean tones.
My biggest gripe is the artifacts I get with clean tones. It drives me crazy.
@@jorgefrias7889 Is this happening at higher fidelity like 96khz?
UA seems to just gloss over the issues with low power Fender, Princeton, Deluxe Reverb even my brown Super sounds awful with clean sounds. My OX box was purchased February of 2018 and is idle most of the time, relying on my Tone King Gremlin with a moving blanket over it. For dirty sounds one of the UA amp sims work. I love UREI, UA have owned 1176s, La2s, La3s, La4 silver and black. Still have Apollo 16, 8P, 8, a Twin duo, 6176, 2 LA610s, and a 2-1176.
Okay but what hat is Tore wearing??
The interviewer is acting just like me when I smoke crack before work......😬
Would be nice if they would fix the WiFi issue. Just dropped a grand on this thing and won’t even register so I can’t even use anything besides the preloaded rigs. Tried every troubleshooting tip on the web. Still a no go. Starting to feel like this is a piece of garbage.
Never had a problem. Get a buddy who can operate a computer...
Guitarists love to go in the rabbit hole ....
Lorraine Ming cuz accordions don’t fit in there lol 😂
"Basically"
Is this the guy that used to work for TC Electronic?
Behringer bouth T.C,so who knows.
Yes.
The amount of talking in this video is insane
Are you cold???? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !
Budget Rick Beato haha
... But... THE PRICE!!! UGH 😑
I went with Torpedo Captor X because I'm a broke musician...
Best ✌🏼
I can do exactly same thing with my hotone ampero multifx for 1/3 of the price.
lol
😂😂😂😂
AHEM... maybe you could take a look at two tones Torpedo? twice the usefulness at half the price. Actually less than half and more than two times useful...just sayin'...
He’s lost weight
he keeps saying "guys " excuse me, there are tons of ladies in the house :) Outdated dude
Amen brother, and a woman! AND "ANONBINARY imaginary BEING" my go to fave.
It does sound fantastic, but at the price it is sold, it really shouldn't be made in China.
You mean like your phone? And most other things you own?
Why? Communism is expensive.
Could do without the sexist language. C’mon Sweetwater, it’s 2020.
🤣🤣🤣
Amen brother, and a woman, and ANONBINARY IMAGINARY BEING! My go to fave
at 1:31 "any guitar player who has a tube amp has tried to play, and...THEIR WIFE... go turn it down". Seriously? Keeping that old stereotype alive of only straight men playing loud guitars?
Lmfao, really?
You're trolling, right?
What foot switch is compatible for the Ox box???????????????????
Hey, Joe! Thanks for your interest. Both the DigiTech FS3X and the TC Helicon Switch3 would be good options.
