Thank You so much for sharing this tutorial. You did a great job of getting right to the point while still showing how to pin the zipper properly, which is the part I wanted to see. Thank You for keeping it easy to understand :)
Thank you!!! First video which finally shows how to make it in a easy way!!!! I have been searching for over a month now. I am so glad now that I have found your video. Thank you so much!
Thank you. Don't want the handles cause there's several books but the zipped covers, made to measure, are just what I'm looking for. Best instructions I've found.
I love this! Curious question, and I'm sure it's a simple one lol I probably should be able to figure it out on my own... But if I wanted to add a book marker ribbon to the case, at what step would I need to do this, and how ?!? TIA
A quick question, how do you manage if the spine of the book is thicker than the zip. I am hoping to cover my Bible but it is 3"/7.5cm thick. Do I need to sew the zip onto 2 bits of fabric first and then attach the fabric to the cover to make it wide enough to do up. I am also using a lining fabric and interfacing to make the cover slightly more robust as it gets used daily. The Bible is nearly 100yrs old so it needs all the protection I can give it.
I guess that would be the best option for the zip, Karen. unless you found a really wide zip, but that's likely to be far too chunky for what you want.
I hope your idea worked I am going to use her idea to cover a binder and turn it into a journal and I was wondering how I could make it wider so thanks for your suggestion! :-)
You can you any cloth. Remember that if you use plastic and try to stitch it, the stitch holes will act as perforations and tear. If you choose to use plastic, maybe consider glue or heat sealing.
It was a synthetic fibre suiting with a little stretch, a little thick like a denim, and worked really well. But I have used many things in the past including plastic coated cotton, the kind you get for wipe down tablecloths. There are no rules really!
What a super, unfussy video! Thank you so much for showing this in a simple, easy to understand way. You’re a good teacher.

Very unusual. I like it, thank you.
You have a nice wide zipper. What if your zipper is not wide enough?
Thank you.
WooooWww its amazing
hello! thank you for this tutorial! I have one question please: can I use paper clips as an alternative to those pins/needles? thank you. 😅
They may be ok for some parts of the job, but I don’t think they’ll hold the zip still enough.
I love it
