Hey, thanks for the shoutout! Big fan of the all Scions build. Yeah, metamorphs or blood letters will eat you for lunch, but other than that it’s a solid compendium team i think. Great breakdown as always 👌
2 things: Scions come in 5 per box, you need 2 boxes for full killteam. All Scions in the killzone get issued order, 6" requirement is only for basic guardsmen.
scions dont need to be in 6" range of the tempestor to get the order guys ;) only guardsmen need to be in range or relay the order, scions get that anywhere on the board using there voxcaster in ther helmet ;0
"Almost" three actions with free mission actions feels really strong. But do I see it right that you could have two plasma guns if you take one Scion and one Guardsmen team? That seems pretty good. I'm still hoping for a White Dwarf Scion Team.
I think Scions are ridiculously good. They do have that GLARING weakness of being bad in melee, of course. Kommandos, Troupe, Wyches, and Genestealers are the obvious counters.... but with move move and special forces, I think the guardsmen can still maybe hold their own from an object perspective?
And don't forget if you live through a melee round, you can buff whoever is locked in melee with a radio man to disengage... And then shoot whatever just fought you in the face. My tempestor has used this a few times to completely destroy things with his plasma pistol (good luck surviving AP2 hit on 2's re roll ones with take aim..)
Hey i just wanted to ask i read from a few guides about scions that you dont need your leader to be in the killzone (alive) to use strategic ploys if you run all Scions team is it true (because it says All Temepstus Scions, and then it continues with guardsman)? thanks for answer also how does Bring it Down and Take aim work together
You can mix a normal guard team with a scions team, but the normal Guardsmen don't get the orders unless you bounce them via the radio man. In my opinion double scions is better.
They look fun to play! But Scions and Krieg are just "guard but better". Games fun enough that if you just like the aesthetic of guard, theyre good enough to have plenty of fun with though.
i’m a lil late, but yes. i usually run a double guard fireteam. so 14 models. it’s quite fun. but not the most competitive. but i enjoy it. 1 guards and 1 scion for a KT is quite good
I don't think any of the stuff in this video about the guardsman orders being a one time free strategic ploy is correct, that isn't what it says at least how I, and everyone I've spoke too read it. Am I missing something or is that just a mistake in the video. Thanks for the content still!
Every time I watch a video about Killteam 2nd Edition I am more and more convinced that it is a great idea to *NEVER EVER PLAY IT.* Who came up with these rules? What idiot thought these were a good idea? Did they just roll dice for the rules? Killteam 1st Edition is better in *every single conceivable way*.
This is a hot take... Also a really bad hot take 😂 this version is so, so much better and more ballanced. Its no longer a smaller shittier version of 40k, it is now a BETTER version of 40k

Yeah what Shane was referring to was the Scions Start Collecting Box

I agree with this 👍
Good catch! Don't know how I missed that.
@@shanesmith447 let’s blame GW. Their wording was god awful.
@@battlebrotherstabletop they did fix it later wiht adding a comma between "scion operators, and guardsmen." It really is poor wording.
yup, this why why the normal guard comms has the relay rule and scion doesn't

So I understand its 1 Leader with Plasma pistol/Power Weapon. 4 Scion Gunners Hot-shot/Melta/Plasma/Grenade Launcher. 1 Comms. And 4 Troopers?
That's how I run mine! Add a medkit on one of the troopers and scion knives on all but coms/tempestor for even 10 points of EQ!
If you were to compare scions vs kasrkin which would be better for KT?
The 1EP CCW is on the menu to help you spend your full EP budget if you purchased three 3EP items.
Great analysis thanks!
Scions are actually 8 wounds to regular Guards 7, and a Tempestor is 9.
I thought you could take 2 gunners from the list per fire team? So an entire scion force of 10 models could take 2 plasma and 2 melts for example?
Nope you can't, it specifically says you can't do an operative more than once per KILL TEAM not per FIRE TEAM
2 gunners per fire team BUT you can't have duplicate loadouts. Essentially you can take 4 of the 5 gunners if running 2 teams of scions

Do I have to run two fireteams in a regular game or can I use just 5?

Are guardsman worth taking though?
