3 PARA soldiers hoping to join the Patrols Platoon have just gone through a challenging selection process in Brecon. The Platoon does one of the most difficult jobs in the Battalion; conducting close reconnaissance of the enemy. It gained a fearsome reputation in Northern Ireland, bringing back information on the IRA. The job has changed since those days, but still the platoon selects the highest calibre recruits.

Lee Charles yes I know. In my country , most operational battalion have one small recce platoon, and in special force, recce or scout is One Sub specialisation too, Apart from medic, demolition, etc
