I bought the 62 piece kit and the rods supplied aren’t long enough to push from action to muzzle (22” barrel) as shown in the video. So now I need to get one more piece of rod, if that’s even possible. Sure, I can run the patch through from muzzle to receiver, but that’s bad for the action.
Can I use the lubricating oil on the bolt of my rifle or is it only meant to be used on the barrel?
Very late but yes, dip some on rag and rub your bolt with it.
The oil can go anywhere.
It hurt when you jammed the end into the crown :S
It's a soft plastic tip. It's not going to damage a steel barrel.
Right?! And also make sure you’re holding the scope of the rifle for leverage while you jam the cleaning rod in and out of the barrel
VOLUME!!! Please.
Hopes, you should start making better quality rods. I gave up after breaking 2 of yours on one gun
Why do you guys provide aluminum, sectioned rods with your mainline cleaning kits? I'd venture to say, your kits are the most widely used in the U.S.A.; and sectioned, aluminum cleaning rods are known to be bad for gun bores. Why would you steer those just starting out, wrong? If cost is the issue; polymer is cheap. I cringe when I think about how many guns I cleaned and possibly damaged, using your basic gun cleaning kits over the years.
Trae UCity elaborate I used their stuff first time today. It was ridiculously tight for my ar, 556/223. I started and stopped many times I was afraid I'd get the rod stuck.
@El Sid this was 2 years ago..as I recall it was a general range .22-.30 or something like that. Anyway I stopped after maybe 2 cleanings and went to the Otis system. I haven't had second doubts about it since. Even if I accidentally put an extra thick patch in there, its way more comfortable to pull it out than push it out, even though it takes some muscle when it gets tight like that. No longer fear jacking up my rifling.
you might as well suff a brick up that rifle cause the arracery proberly gone
Why?
