Darn, I was hoping the rain would stop at some point. You did get that one little peak at the mountain. Ouch about the blister and your friends hiking shoes are done after this trip. Still looked like a fun experience.
It was hard to hike and at times hard to motivate recording video. I think in the end, I’m glad we did the trip and glad I kept recording. Thanks for the feedback. It helps with the motivation. Happy Holidays to you!
Hi John. In spite of the rain and difficult terrain, you did another great job in filming, narration and in this case - overcoming physical difficulties. Well done Friend!
Thanks Ken! This was a battle with the weather for sure. Not every day is going to be blue skies. I really enjoyed Imp Campsite/Shelter it had everything one needed.
Wow that was a very hardy breakfast they provided! Ok that was a heck of a lot of rain to have to hike in and so sad about the view. That Imp Shelter area was actually really great it actually had a bear box and everything you would need it was nice to see the old pics. You actually make a trip like this very very tempting we need to do it at least once someday if we did we would need to do it with you but we would want to try the easiest and nicest one for our first experience. It is a lot of fun watching you guys hike though! LOL! Also so fun watching you make it to the top of each area wow the shows and feet were destroyed on this trip! That was so much rain! Well done!!
@justramblinaround you are so funny. Yes I would definitely recommend an easier hut to get to for your first AMC hit experience. I just did a relaxing three days and two nights at the Lonesome Lake Hut. It’s still in the white Mountains but much easier to get to. I always look for some historical material to put things in perspective. It would be nice to show you around some of what New England has to offer. Thanks again and keep ramblin’
Well no this was a wet one. Honestly after reaching Mount Moriah. We could get back to town fast enough. There was lots of slipping and even Matt was going slow compared to the first two days. I hope to do it again someday as part of an AT through hike. Take care.
The rain definitely made things hardy. Great trip! Epic shoe deterioration. I think I'm gonna try to tackle much of this route this winter - need all these peaks for my winter list save Moriah.
Seth - that sounds like a great trip. I hope you are not breaking trail. I was just up in the Whites again before Christmas. I stayed two nights at Lonesome Lake Hut. Looking forward to seeing your videos.
@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA yeah, that's the rub of it. I have visions of big winter trips but then the conditions put me in my place. I had planned to grab a bunch of the peaks along with Washington on this past trip but quickly changed my tune after getting reacquainted with winter hiking.
@@RhodySeth I had thoughts of bagging the Kinsmans from Lonesome Lake Hut. I got to Kinsman Pond and turned around. It was getting late and it was really cold.

Such amazing scenery and adventure. It looks like a special experience. It is a pleasure to watch your adventures. 💕
Wow, John! What an example of true grit! Even in those conditions you produced another great film👍

The breathtaking landscape and thrilling activities suggest a truly unique experience. Have a great Holiday Season.
Thank you and Happy Holidays to you as well
