Hey John we had realized we missed this one so glad we went back and watched we didn't pay attention of the new set up that is a really nice bike and great set up! I (Jodi) would have mispronounced that park many times I am positive! Loved that ride one you get through the tunnels the green all around you was just beautiful! That was a very interesting train stop and a great lunch location. Filming was nice loved all the bike shots that takes a lot of patience you have some great friends to bike with. You ended strong with all the cuts and edits of the 9 days were fantastic!! Well done!
Jodi, I know your struggles with pronunciations. It kills me. I often cut them out and replace it with narration. There is an U.S. Army Corp of Engineers campground near there that we stay at occasionally. I’ve been to that restaurant a couple of times. I’m very happy with that bike it has proven to be well worth the money. I think having good friends to ride with makes the trip even better than if I rode solo. I have been trying to tease the next video to keep folks engaged. I’ve also been doing RUclips shorts to fill in the weeks between the full length videos. They are. pretty easy to edit and publish. Thanks again for the conversation take care.
I thought it was really interesting to see the type of bags you attached to your bikes and what each one of them weighs. Great idea to get out and do a test run. It looks like all went well. Looking forward to seeing that DC to Pittsburgh trip.
Sarah, People still don't know what bikepacking is. It's often confused with bike touring. While similar they are significantly different. Bikepacking is closer to backpacking you are taking a minimalist approach, camping and traveling on less traveled roads or trails. Bike touring is more of a city to city long distance approach on paved roads and staying overnight in sticks and bricks structures. I became interested in Bikepacking because I was already biking and backpacking and It made sense to put them together. What makes it even better is having some good friends who share your passion. Thanks for your continued support!
Hi John. A great job of filming and narration, as always! Look forward to seeing what you did on the C&O trip. When looking at the previews you had at the end, I recognized some of this from my AT hike Harper's Ferry through Maryland. Thanks for your great work.
@kenwbrenner - This was a great way to warm up for our DC to Pittsburgh Trip. When you think about it, our trip was very similar experience to a section hike on the AT. We camped most nights, carried our gear and prepared and ate meals in camp. We probably had more town meals than you would on the AT. I have had a few quick stops in Harpers Ferry before. But this time we actually saw more of it on our bikes. The hills were a bit difficult to ride with all that gear. I even stopped in to see the ATC Harpers Ferry Visitor Center. Take care.
It really did help, but we certainly had our challenges on the trip. We had two do some mental work convincing everyone they could do this before we even started. In the end all went well and we all made it.
Great video! Smart idea to do a test run before your upcoming adventures. I'm originally from CT so this was especially fun to see. Just subscribed to follow along 🙂 - Danny and Leigh Anne
Awesome! Thank you! Danny and Leigh Anne. I just subscribed and started watching your Siwa video. Wow impressive. I’ll check be checking out more for sure.
I did the airline in Pomfret a few weeks back, it was oddly perfect conditions, considering my other rides were thru puddles and other obstructions like trees. It gets rough in the sections you can tell most don't travel with the heavy rocks, but most what I've ridden on has been gravel, dirt clay and the occasional loose rocks up a hill to cross a road
This is so beautiful. My husband and I are going to have to do this.
I think you’re goin to like it.
Awesome ride,
Yes it was!
That would be an absolutely marvelous shared experience with others! Great stuff!!
Thanks Bruce and Otis. It truly was a marvelous experience. We are going to have to find away to recreate that magic next year. Take care.
I go to brandford Connecticut yearly
Next time you’re here, I recommend checking out the Air Line.
@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA I'll try to remember

@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA RE: Section Hike/Bike Funny you should say that, I was thinking you were doing something similar!
🙂
@@kenwbrenner maybe Section Ride. LOL
I'd say that's a pretty good shakeout ride for you guys. Looking forward to your DC > PA trip.

@wyldweasil - It has some good sections and some areas that need help, but it still is awsome.
