89 Niners were best team I’ve ever seen . No weaknesses. An offense that could hang 45 and a defense that could shut you down . Great o line that kept Montana clean , legendary corps of WR. 2 top tier all purpose RBs . Great TE who was matchup for just about anyone. Rock solid at every position on defense. Closest thing you could ever get to a perfect team. Most shocking is that that actually lost 2 games .

The 89 team is my favorite 49ers team ever. So many great memories that season. Not so much for their opponents. All three of the postseason games were over at halftime.

I'm a fan of one of those teams that the Niners demolished in the postseason that year. The '89 Niners are one of the best teams if not THE best pro football team I've ever seen. They truly were exceptional in every phase of the game.

The 1987 through 1990 49ers were just a force. They got beat the first time by the Vikings and then overcame a shaky start to essentially win at 10-6 and then win the Super Bowl The 89 49ers were dominant like the 84 ones. They just crushed everything in sight. The 49ers should have been in the Super Bowl in 1990, but a Roger Craig fumble allowed the Giants to march down into field goal range and that was essentially it for Montana in San Fran after he was hurt for 2 years and Steve Young took over.

This is one of joes most dominant performances ever in the post season. Especially against a defense that recorded 71 sacks during the season. 2nd most all time to the 1984 bears 72 sacks. Joes first half stats. 13 for 16 for 210 yds and 4tds. They ran the ball alot in the second half and took it easy on the vikings.
