They started as division champs in 1980. They ended as division champs in 1989. In between, there was a lot of suckage and a few good moments. 1981, 83, and 85 were mediocre non-playoff years. 1982 was somewhat mediocre but they made the playoffs. 1984 was Steckel. 1986 was solid but no playoffs. 1987 was a miracle playoff run. 1988 might have been their best team (by record and by performance). They squeezed into the playoffs in 1989. The Packers likely were more deserving and would have done more with a trip to the playoffs. The Vikes earned it but it was mostly a defensive effort.
