My grandfather is the closest highest ranking officer buried at Arlington to him. Interesting fact, when he was buried there, there is a cavet that on that hill, affectionately called 'Pershing Hill' only family are allow to be buried next to him, which right now is his son.
Thanks for the awesome videos. Keep them comin'!

Patton served under Black Jack Pershing as Cavalry Lt. Pershing tasked Patton with creating the first US tank units and promoted Patton to Cpt. Patton credited Pershing with teaching him everything he knew about leadership and warfare.
    Definitely an under appreciated man!

@@jangelderloos2211 Why did General Patton called the men fallen in the war as fools?! He is overrated.

Just saying but I am really interested in General Pershing because you see I am interested in his role in the Spanish American war, the Philippine American war, ww1, Moro rebellion, Apache and Sioux wars, Russo Japanese war, Mexican revolution and his expedition against Governor of Chihuahua Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula aka Pancho Villa and this expedition was launched in retaliation for pancho villa’s attack on Columbus New Mexico and during this expedition fighting under Pershing was the remnants of the 7th Cavalry regiment and the 104th United States infantry regiment which was a veteran of the civil war, revolutionary war, French and Indian war, battle of Gettysburg, battle of the bulge and King Philips war.

John J. Pershing in due course, having been forced to withdraw from political considerations and before much larger events in Europe left the episode of the punitive expedition behind, admitted to having been mocked and deceived at every turn by the Mexicans and wrote:
After launching into Mexico with the intention of eating raw Mexicans, we returned to the first repulsion and now we are hiding at home, like a curd with our tails between our legs.

Thank you for your service Gen. Pershing. You ordered the attack on the last day of WWI despite the treaty being signed and the war as over. Your Officers, Non commissioned Officers and lower enlisted flight and died for nothing. Men died senselessly for no land or purpose. What a terrible thing to do on the 11th hour on November 11, 1918.
Thank you for your service Gen. Pershing attacking Native American tribes who had no way of defending themselves against superior firepower.
Thank you Pershing. For Trying to catch Poncho Villa in Mexico but failed over and over again. Never catching the Bandito.
    I salute you 🫡

I noticed they mentioned he was the commander of the 10th Cavalry in the Spanish American War but left out that it was a colored unit, which was how he got the name Black Jack...which was used as a polite form for what they really called him back then, N-word Jack.

It's a shame the Pershing tank came at the end of the war. More Americans and victims of the WW2 would have been saved. Probably even shorten the War.
