React content is probably the most mixed bag when it comes to content. Some channels actually review the content and add value to it whereas some people just use it for free clicks
People either actually add something into it like commentary and genuine reactions like Charlie, and theres people who just sit down and watch the whole video they're reacting to without doing anything and being silent the whole time, basically watching the whole video with the streamers facecam being stoic.
I'm not against reaction content as a whole, but I am against lazy reaction content. If a streamer or creator or whoever sits down in front of their webcam and silently watches someone else's work while eating their lunch, that is adding nothing. It is not transformative in any way, it's just stealing and once the viewers of that "reaction" have seen the video, they have no reason to go to the original cause they've already watched it through. But if someone is constantly stopping the video to discuss what was said, offering critique and opinion (on a regular basis not just once or twice) then they're adding something different and potentially worthwhile. And since the video is constantly being interrupted, there's a greater chance some viewers will want to go and see it themselves. Though I still would prefer if reactors didn't watch ENTIRE videos on stream. Maybe cut to a fullscreen facecam at points during it so the viewers have reason to go see what they were missing. At the end of the day, reaction content isn't going anywhere, but to me there is a right and wrong way to do it and so many huge personalities tend to do it the wrong way.
@@cl4267 I'm speaking generally. Based on this video, Charlie understands the need to be transformative and even realizes when he hasn't been. He's not the issue.
He also used to regularly shit on reaction content as well as continuously bitches about lazy content. And then the makes it like a total tool. Just like he shit on drama channels and makes garbage like this.
Idk about everyone else but I click and watch because of charlie I couldn't care less about the content hes "reacting" to...He makes the usually unwatchable and retarded content he reacts to entertaining.
I normally love Charlie but here he’s just flat out wrong. I HEAVILY encourage people to read the actual document, he’s taken a number of things completely out of context and framed this in a way as to make Dark look as bad as possible. I love both these creators but this really seems like a defensive knee-jerk reaction from Charlie because it hits so close to home.
It's a pain in ass to find. He wants people to watch the video and have a tribal mindset and do as he says. But I like both but Charlie is wrong this time
Charlie, I think you should include the unfinished script in the description. I've never heard of dark viper before this but after watching this I saw his response and it really does seem like you've done him dirty. If what he's said is bad enough like you make out show/ link the original script instead of taking what he's wrote out of context then making claims/ counter claims you don't prove or provide any evidence towards which you call dark viper out for doing.
Just google it bro, he clearly mentioned that’s what he’s talking about and it’s definitely not hard to find. You know his source, you know where to find it, he shouldn’t have to hold ur hand all the way there
I saw a reaction channel once that used someone’s animation and got way way more views than the original. The channel owner felt bad about it but another react channel owner came in and said something along the lines of “you should be proud you got more views it means your stuff is better than theirs” and I was just blown away lol
sometimes I watch Charlie's videos out of order and feel like I got thrown in a hyperbolic time chamber or something. I watched the drama response video before this one and thought this whole situation happened a long time ago but nope. this goku-frieza-on-namek fight has taken place only over the last 3 days!
I'm watching this video for the first time now, right after watching Charlie talk about why he quit doing reaction videos and put this part of his channel in the past.
There's actually a really great video by Jay Exci about this. He talks about how there's good and bad reaction content, and that it's about finding the balance between showing an amount of a video and also adding enough commentary and actual reactions to make it your own. Some get it pretty right, like Charlie, some not so much.
He's not necessarily a streamer, but Vlogging Through History would be another example of a react format done right. He's a historian who reacts to history-related content while offering feedback, fun anecdotes, and other cool stuff to the point where the reaction is drastically longer than the video. Just an example of how reaction content can most certainly be very good, and even enhancing.
Sooo much good history content on RUclips that does reactions-- they fill in blanks, they talk about their experience learning it, how it relates to other areas of history etc.
Vlogging through history reacts to historical videos and adds some things that we might not know, and adds contexts to some things. That's what reaction channels should be.
its good to see that many charlie's fans are calling him out for misrepresenting DarkViper's point. glad to see that this fanbase isnt blinded just because charlie is their favourite/ one of their favourite youtubers and actually understand that a coin has two sides to it
nah, just nah. people arent calling him out for being wrong, people just follow whatever the new narrative is. everybody agreed with charlie about the things he said and about the document, but then after one video comes out from darkviper everybody suddenly thinks charlie is completely wrong. if charlies makes a video doubling down everybody will be on his side again. noone is being honest here, they're just drama frogs who follow whatever narrative they last heard and use that to be negative towards people
There is a really specific memory I have from an old video of Charlie's. My friend showed me his channel around 8 years ago, when all he did was voice over playing video games, with the first video he showed me being an Operation Room simulator game. He was very against showing his face, saying his name, or having his viewers know anything about him personally, he was simply kritical/penguinz0. Then one day he posted a video, still voicing over a game, however talking about his real life and how sad he had been lately, from having lost both his girlfriend and gotten fired from his job, he was not in a good place. However, he said what he felt most ashamed about was since he lost his job, he needed to start using the money his channel was making to make ends meet instead of donating it the way he normally did, and he was just totally stuck on this fact, and that he hoped to get back on his feet and be able to make up the money he meant to donate. Thats when I realized how good of a person he truly was
I remember this too! The fact he was donating his youtube earnings for so long, what a beautiful soul he has. And the way he spoke about how he would have to use the money; as though he was asking *our permission* to use his own money, and apologising for it. I truly believe he has the biggest heart of all content creators, and I truly wish nothing but happiness and success for the rest of his life. Finding out Charlie is only a couple years older than me was a shock, I remember seeing that QWOP vid when I was, what, 16? I remember showing the girls in my class and we were all guessing he was about late 30s, 40s, because of his voice. And he was just a lil 16 year older, like us! Aging while watching him has been a trip, I stopped watching for 3/4 years before 2016 and a little after but man, his content is as good as it's ever been right now.
@@knighter1209 How do I steal content, I also have no ads on my contend and I get hardly any views. I upload it for myself and would gladly make it private if it offends you so much. I do not sit there take other peoples videos play it all the way through and put ads on it, it’s wrong and a very scummy thing to do.
It blew my mind when React World tried to trademark the “react” genre. They were going to make people pay to literally react to videos. If you want a good laugh you can look up their introduction to the “trademark” series and then their apology which followed shortly after.
I would like to see twitch implement like a “watch party” feature for youtube where the viewers would watch the content from their own accounts just to boost (or rather accurately reflect) the view numbers
Wow its actually nice to see in the comments a community that cared about the other side of the story before they started dogpiling on someone without any consideration. Kinda feels like the argument of the document was missed, rather took extreme examples out of context to criticize the examples and not the leading point itself. React content is kinda whack, it's not very transformative and takes away engagement from a creators channel and any other potentially recommended channels after that.
Yup. This has so many red flags & clearly was meticulously set up to make darkviper look as bad as possible with so much stuff purposely taken out of context…. Classless move by Charlie.
tbf Charlie is a funny dude but his youtube content is like a reddit top comment generator just in video form. 99% of the time he just states some vanilla normie popular opinion that the majority of his demographic already agrees with and dresses it in his "edgy" humor.
Pokimane watching someones entire video while eating in silence, and then "saying nice things about it" is the bare minimum you can do after watching someones content with thousands of people, and it's hilarious that charlie doesn't recognize that. " I mean yeah he was a tax evader, sure, but one time, he did pay three dolars so he's okay" Small creators don't complain about reactors is because they're small, inexperienced, and don't know better As for big channels who are affected by reactors and do complain just look at jay exsi. They've make several streams and an hour long video explaining why this isn't ok
Yeah Poki and Hassan are some that come to mind who take the “Jinx” approach to reacting and Hassan is worst since his egos is so big that he just attacks whoever criticized him
@@LivingLikeLarry12 go watch dark vipers response video. Charlie purposefully makes stuff up and takes a lot of of context in order to make himself look better.
Old media has this figured out long ago. If you want to provide `curated` content, you're going to have to pay the original creator. Paying with 'exposure' is possible but only when the original creator agreed to that. The rapist argument, while absurd and in bad taste, sheds light on this, the reactor is not asking if the original creator wants to be paid in exposure. They just re-stream the video... In software development, consent is given through a license attached to the code/content. In music, there's a license required to stream/play music you did not create yourself. On youtube, there's a gap where a license would provide clarity. And it seems that they're still a long way of fixing that. I hope, in a couple of years, there's a youtube.com, where you can watch videos for yourself, and and reacttube.com where all content fit for re-streams is available.
Someone: _Makes ONE analogy in an argument_ Moist: Your analogy is super wrong forget the rest of your argument let’s talk about why this analogy sucks so much

What upsets me isn't the document. It's the fact that Charlie completely either misinterpreted it, or was just outright wrong. I'm on DVs side of things because if you look at his response video, he clarifies all the misinterpreted points made in this video. People are more likely to take Charlie's side on things because he is the larger creator, but status shouldn't matter in a scenario like this. Don't be that guy who immediately takes one side just because it's the person you like better. Watch DVs video first, then make a decision.
listen to his video very closely. it's not the document that has him upset. he' took part of the document as a very personal attack. he reinterinates the same points about the rapist comparison and his name being used. relative to charlies understanding, the document is an ad homin attack. his response is him not apreaciating being attacked even though. the document really isn't about his specifically. Don't know what charlie is going through in his personal life but homie might not be okay right n ow.
I have been watching for 5-6 years now and almost always agrees with what he says because of how well thought out most of what he says is without feeling like he is attacking another person due to his own feelings. However this time it feels a lot different with Charlie trying to take what DarkViper says out of context and blowing it out of perportion. I also feel like Charlie is bringing his own feelings in to this. I could be wrong but this video feels like it’s trying to bring negative attention to DarkViper.
@Codex And a RUclipsr that is 10x smaller, DarkViperAU could've lost thousands of subscribers if he didn't release his own video about the topic. Even worse, DarkViperAU was making and writing the script for the video about his thoughts on reaction content that he was about to release and go more into detail on the topic, but his plan was ruined by Charlie because he felt violated.
I don't wanna see mum and dad argue but judging by the comments on both videos, Matt must've disassembled this entire video with surgical precision in his response video
Yeah he did lol cause that’s the type of person he is he literally wrote a 14 page essay on it that Charlie is referring to but obviously Charlie took tiny chunks and used them in his favor without context
What shocks me is that even though Charlie is a massive youtuber/streamer that has seen so much drama in both platforms he couldnt just have a direct conversations with Matt to better understand the document. What could have been a discussion between two knowledgeable people turns into one-sided discussions and drama. People need to learn to talk with each other and only then, if they still think it´s worth it, make a video about it.
DarkViper has responded, sad that Charlie takes alot of stuff out on context etc:/ i will take what he says with a pinch of salt from now on:/ ruclips.net/video/cqWNmXYC76A/видео.html
Coryxkenshin is a good example of someone uplifting smaller channels by reacting to them to, he doesn't do it all the time but the times he does, they gained a lot
Reaction channels are the laziest and most bottom effort form of content creation on any video sharing site. It does not require much effort at when you are doing nothing but reacting to the original content of more creative people.
The only time I've had an issue with a reactor is when they told an animator that their content wasn't creative due to art style and that sitting on a couch watching their content is more creative. They ended up deleting that video due to heavy backlash and have never addressed it since.
Well, my respect for a person drops to zero the moment a react streamer decides to take down others videos and channels for including their content. Basically, i majorly dislike double standards.
Thank you , people are judging dark even though they haven't even looked at the document , Charlie defamed matt and took thing matt said out of context , ruclips.net/video/cqWNmXYC76A/видео.html
I normally appreciate Charlie's opinions but this is the first time I've really had a problem with one - the blatant misconstruing and hypocrisy in this just doesn't sit right with me, not even going to the effort of linking the document being discussed and discredited.

It amazes me to no end that 1 video with poorly done research and lack of communication can lead to so many people hating on Matt (DarkviperAU) and misreading what he said/wrote but this is what I should have expected from people who can barely read 14 pages.
The worst part is the fact that Charlie or any other reactor was never compared to a rapist …It was an “analogy” of exploitation without permission…Fuck Charlie
This is the first time I've seen any fanbase call him out collectively for being wrong, but still be fans of whoever they are calling out, claiming that he may have made an honest mistake as a benefit of doubt.
I get that Charlie isnt the brightest bulb in the box; he's never pretended otherwise, but this is just embarassingly wrong and misrepresentative of what DarkViper said. This is incredibly disappointing to see
@Nigga _ how is your username even allowed? Also yes but i'm trying to get people to watch DarkViper's video, that's all. Same tactic as the self promo guys just that it's more relevant :))
@Nigga _ maybe, but you can't deny he will always be the funny likeable guy that talks about buttholes and fleshlights. It's kind of sad how when you make the kind of persona you can't really go back to being serious, it just feels uncanny.
@Nigga _ I mean, he's not wrong in being upset for being name-dropped alongside XQC and other streamers who are clearly on another level of reaction scum. Other than that, he did a very bad job presenting Matt's points. I see this as an exception, though. Usually Charlie is quite reasonable and doesn't fail to make good points. Also, this isn't twitter, no one's cancelling anyone. Unlike the mouth breathers on twitter, people here actually try to come to a common consensus (for the most part).
I am always amazed by how fast charlie switches from a rather eloquent way of speech, even without any script, to a pretty casual way of talking with swearing and sarcasm. One of my favorite things about him.
Rule 1 of arguing dont listen to the other side Rule 2 make up their argument before they can Rule 3 argue your side while looking for every way to make the other guy look like the asshole without letting them defend themselves Edit: I also don't think Charlie should apologize for being a react content creator because he isn't just that, however I think he should apologize to dark viper for consciously cutting off his ability to make the video without it being shrouded in controversy from the get go, and the for blatant misrepresentation of dark vipers character for the consent analogy that we all understand that somehow Charlie twisted into saying matt was a rapist, like the fuck dude?
Rule 4 be friends with Susan Wojici and Twitch Admins so that you can make sure your revenue streams stay open since a large portion of your content relies on nebulously structured and interpreted fair use laws
I understand Charlie wants to defend himself he feels he's done nothing wrong thats okay... its just kinda funny Charlie decided to jump out in front of Matt's video without letting him make his own argument I think he really shot himself in the foot there because he only has the argument that he made for the document not what matt had intended the argument to be, Charlie also seems to purposely misunderstand the consent analogy and accost Matt's character without even knowing what matt means... even though everyone knows you ask for consent first you don't just do what you want and apologize if needed later
I think you've done Dark a disservice with this video. It, ironically, goes some way to proving his point: you've grown comfortable simply firing off your gut reaction to anything and everything, and in this case it's ended with a lot of bad tales, deflection and serious misrepresentation of his document.
My initial reaction to seeing Matt being flamed by Charlie was 'oh no has Matt let the frustration of speedrunning get to him?'... however this topic has been worked on tirelessly and passionately by Matt, and Charlie is 100% in the wrong for putting out his video just because the script mentioned his name and probably triggered a response. What this has done is swayed a majority of people away from Matt's content and killed the discussion of this topic before it was even brought to light. However I do believe Charlie is a good person who has unknowingly done this and would benefit from actually understanding the argument being made. This could be done by both of them sitting down and having a conversation be it offline or online. Also, please ignore the unnecessary personal attacks made by both parties and focus on the argument.
I definitely agree that Charlie is inherently a good person and just seems to be unknowingly doing what he is. I hope Matt's document can convince not just react viewers, but also explain the problem to react streamers themselves. Unfortunately, since Matt is so passionate about it and clearly labels react streamers as bad people, this will probably be hard to swallow for most people.
@@Blucario90 Tbh Matt made good points so I can respect him arguing with someone who has WAY more supporters than him and can, at any time, "hate raid" him. It's a different case if he's just ranting pointlessly, but the reality is, it's the opposite.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love it when a streamer or other creator reacts to my content, so long as it isn’t lazy. I get useful feedback and sometimes minor boosts to my videos
Yeah I get your viewpoint, but it likely is lost views if they do the reaction like some streamers do; just sitting there and watching the whole video unedited, which equals to lost money and a bad taste for the creator while the reactor runs off with a thousand bucks in their wallet. Why watch original content when you can watch the video with someone else reacting to videos? Why go out of your way to find the original piece of content after you've watched a reaction video of that same video with someone else's commentary. If someone makes video X, that took 1000 hours to make, it's full of knowledge, research, nice editing, background footage, the whole shabang, and a reactor comes around and watches video X, uses only 10 minutes of effort to nick your video and put it on the screen and just talk about it every now and again, video X's creator doesn't make any money or views from it, at the very best like 300 inactive subs and 3 new viewers that stick around, while the reactor gets $2000 from video X's creator's 1000h of labor. With game reviews and gameplay, you can't get the whole experience of the game from a video, there's always some aspect in the controls that make it worth it to buy the game, videos don't have this luxury, if you watch a video, that's it, you know the video now, sure you can come back and watch it again since it was good, but you're not likely to go off a reactor's channel to a whole different channel to seek a single video out.
@@TheBiggestCorn i don't think it's the stream reaction that's hurting the original videos to be honest. It's when people (not the streamer) clip the whole reaction from the stream and post it on youtube and then makes it to the front result
As much as I love you Charlie, I'd genuinely take a more nuanced look at Dark's document and also a look at his response. You have genuinely misrepresented lots of his points and making one of the focal points an (admittedly extreme) analogy over the vast majority of the document and even the context of which he used the analogy makes you look lazy and makes me have to question your integrity, especially as this is in defence against criticism of a practice you partake in.
i agree. you can’t deny the analogy was right. although i did think it was a bit extreme i understood the point he was trying to make and that’s the point of analogy’s. they aren’t trying to make their own point, dark wasn’t comparing reactors to sex offenders. the analogy is only there to help people understand his original point. i’m sure charlie knows this and chose to take it the wrong way considering it’s the first thing he mentions about the document not even a minute into the video.
Bro he knows he is wrong but he wants to keep reacting to stuff for ez money so ofc he is going to misrepresent it. "This is a MASSIVE document with LOADS of words.... so basically he just called us rapists 😞"

Charlie and Matt are both good content creators I follow and like, but, ngl, Charlie did some dirty here. I didn't saw this video (Charlie's) yesterday, I just knew about it after DarkViper's response and, gotta say, Charlie sure took a lot of things out of context and talked about it like it's something Matto explicitly said without any further context. But, if you read the document, you'll see how most of the things Charlie used as an argument were comparisons and with a lot of context to add into, because this same things he said were in the last pages of that document.. And, for me, the worst of the things is Charlie talking about the document without even linking it for others to go there and read by themselves. He's not giving the proper context, nor providing the source... Charlie's video is just a personal attack to Matt..
Okay, first of all. DarkViper himself told that Charlie was a BAD PERSON, and he steals money from others His comments "MoistCritikal has more money than 99.99999% of people who have ever lived and he uses his time to steal people's content to prevent other's from entering this space. He is a bad person." Then he calls out people who watch Xqc, Moist, as people who lack morals "I know. Content aggregation is very profitable for those who lack morals." Also rants about how's Charlie is ONLY for the money, and he WILL steal for the profit. "Dude literally told his followers that short content makes no money, among other innaccuries. I made a video correcting him. Ludwig made a video correcting him. The video is still up, because he just doesn't care. He is in it for the money, and whatever he can steal he will steal for profit." How Charlie got targeted as one of the bad actors for reaction content is a baffling. He’s one of the best examples of how to do reaction content correctly. There’s few people that do it as well as him.
I would agree with this if he actually linked to other videos and gave shoutouts. He is nowhere near as good at this type of contact as the likes of Blind Wave.
A perfect example of a good "react" content is Corridor Crew with their VFX Artists/Animators/Stuntmen React series. Each episode features an in-depth analysis of the content they're reacting to. They don't just sit there dead-eyed thanking people for donations.
After watching this video I had disagreed with all of Charlie's points and was about to call him out on his wrongdoings but seeing how this video has 0 dislikes it made me think and realize that maybe I was the problem. Thank you Charlie for opening my eyes.
Our goals shouldn't be to get them to fight, it should be to get both sides to realize how wrong each of them may have been . I started watching tuv because of charlie. But the overall idea that Viper was trying to portray makes a lot of sense, and is written in the document which Charlie didn’t even link, Vipers new video explains that Charlie’s video is taken extremely out of context.
@Cryptix many of the channels admit how much Charlie has helped. Tuv has. This vid is completely wrong but if there is anything he was right about, it’s how he has helped smaller channels.

Personally, this has been a complex issue I have been wrestling with for several months now. On one hand, as a viewer, I can't deny that I enjoy the content and I have seen several instances where people love/use the exposure and views off of react content to springboard their channel and to get your content in front of so many eyes is without a doubt an invaluable asset. However, there is something pretty fundamentally true about the fact that react content, although fun and enjoyable, is downright lazy and unfortunately has become a standard for so many of these RUclips and Twitch streamers and content creators. At the end of the day, I like Charlie's reactions, but I very rarely feel he does enough to really call it a creative and transformative amount but tbh, I'm not upset about it, the content is perfectly enjoyable and I don't want it to change but it's pretty fair to say it leechs off the original content although I feel that term may be harsh. Additionally, when looking up some stuff on twitter, it is fair that none of Charlie's react videos actually credit the original videos, maybe if you're hanging in twitch chat and he's sitting on the channel's page for a while it's easy to pick it up for yourself but he's really not even doing the courtesy of giving links in his RUclips videos. Maybe this is an oversimplistic solution, but would it not be possible to have the original creator of said content be paid a percent of the money made off the video? I don't know what the cut delineation would be precisely but would that not feel fair especially when so many of these content creators are making so much money that it's not like there isn't enough to go between the two parties.
Darkviper fails to realize people like Cody Ko, Danny Gonzalez, Drew Golden and so forth actually put their own spin to the content that they react to. It’s not just done lazily. They actually come up with a set-up, story and they execute it perfectly. They do a lot more work than most react channels that just watch content and that’s it.
yeah but they most often talk about weird films or larger channels where they usually heavily criticise them and making new content around it instead of just watching a smaller channels content and profiting off of it
He said there are differences between actual reactions that add something and hasan leaving his room while a video plays like it happened with his video.
Does he actually call out these people? That would be an absurd thing to say a Drew Gooden video isn't transformative. I was under the impression that it was streamers who were being called out: like Hasan, XQC, and Pokimane, who watch RUclips videos or TV shows and just kinda sit in the corner.
@@shinysky8119 But then he made a response video no? So he had time. He leaked it and name dropped to orchestrate beef and garner views and engagement because now everyone is all "you have to see his video, two sides" yada yada. So I don't buy the victim angle people are selling.

Usually like charlies takes on things but my god hes cherry picking here. Edit to add: I’ve been thinking whilst i had my lunch that charlie has purposefully left out parts of darkvipers argument to make his view. Is that how he see’s us? His fans? DarkViper: Immediately afterwards posts the script for an upcoming video that is exactly the same in premise but needlessly inflammatory and less cohesive on almost every level
yeah, there's about the comment i was gonna make. exactly this, jay talked about very specific types of reaction content and she doesn't otherwise go after anyone producing react content except for the most notable and overall disliked sorts. and she even gets second opinions from other youtubers and some disagree with her main point. her video is very thoughtful and lighthearted and this is just goofy.

I'd recommend people either don't engage with this drama at all (therefore not forming an opinion of darkviper), or they go and watch darkviper's video immediately afterwards. If you just watch this video, and engage with this situation enough to form a negative opinion on darkviper, but don't watch darkviper's response, you're doing him an immense disservice. This is because a lot of what Charlie responds to isn't what darkviper was actually saying, or was missing key context. If you read the document and watch darkviper's vid, it's clear that the unlikable, unreasonable version of darkviper that Charlie presents in this video isn't real.
I don't think darkviper's video makes him out to be that much more likeable and reasonable. He still makes a lot of bad hyperbolic analogies, dismisses a lot of the benefits of reaction content, and makes arguments which he has no actual evidence for. He also misrepresented Ludwig's video, saying that it disproved Cr1tikal's video on short content, when it didn't. A lot of the arguments Cr1tikal made in favor of react content are also still valid. It's annoying how stupid and passionate this debate has gotten, but then again that's usually how these discussions on react content have gone in the past so I guess it's not that surprising.
@@Arctrooper2091 What is a benefit to react content? Also what claims did DViper make that need evidence to back them up? Everything he argued in the doc and video was 100% based in logic.
@@britts9988 For an example of a benefit, look at Ordinary Sausage. Before Cr1tikal reacted to him he was getting views below 10k. After, he got a massive jump in subscribers and is now gets 100k a video. Reaction channels do lead to views, especially for smaller channels. DarkViper downplays this, saying that they would have found the video through the algorithm or that other creators would have been found if viewers had been watching things other than react content. While you are right that this is “based in logic”, it is not based in evidence. Also, while it is logical that content would have been found through the algorithm or other means, it’s also logical that it wouldn’t. For example, I do not watch food channels, so the algorithm likely would not have fed me (pun intended) Ordinary Sausage’s channel. I also might not have found a different channel to watch, as I rarely find new channels to subscribe to on my own. I might have found different videos to watch, but I also might have done something else besides watch RUclips. I also might have watched just a couple videos from a channel instead of subscribing and being a consistent viewer of Ordinary Sausage. @@alexendo2955 go and watch DarkViper's video. Penguinz0 took a big L here. He totally misinterpreted the document that Dark Viper wrote. And moreover critical thinking is enough to realise what DarkViper said is actually true. You don't need to present factual data for it.

Love both channels, but i think Charlie was too focused on dropping witty analogies rather than addressing the actual arguments in Dark’s essay. That being said react content can be great if something new is added to it as Charlie has said before, not sure why both of them are taking it so personally
Let's make some distinctions to this. "React" means watch something for the first time, without preparation. You may be able to add something witty to it, but if you think about it, does that offset the hours and hours the other person has spent on the video? If we simply go off of labour here, I think it doesn't matter how clever your comments are. Commentary videos and analyses are completely different. In those, the analyst watches the video in advance, and then scripts essentially a video essay in which he or she explains exactly what the problems in the original video were. Criticism. This criticism can of course be then packaged in witty remarks, metaphors, and just an all-around fun video. I'm not saying analyses need to be serious. Kind of like the content Charlie used to make, where he would comment on other videos and shows in a fun way, where most of it was him talking over clips of the content in question, and the whole thing being edited. Just watching something on stream, however, is completely different, no matter how funny or witty the reactions are. This is serious, because it is financially hurting thousands of other people. I hope this clears up your questions! Cheers

For every one reaction streamer/RUclipsr like Charlie there’s twenty that just sit there with a look of mild excitement every now and then saying “wow” or “what?!”. I’ve never liked the argument of “they’re giving exposure by watching”, they are, but unless they have their own commentary going along with it or only upload small sections of the whole video, the viewer has no reason to go and seek out the original content creator. I think it was about a year or so ago, but there was drama on twitch surrounding reaction content and there were clips showing Pokimane and Hassan getting up and walking off stream for like ten minutes whilst someone else’s content was being played on stream. What does that add to the original video?
React content is probably the most mixed bag when it comes to content. Some channels actually review the content and add value to it whereas some people just use it for free clicks
Nah some people or streamers use it for the views
That's what I was thinking too.
@YeaMan hello I am your biggest fan! I love your diverse comments ❤️ Thank you 🙏
Yeah, there isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to reacting.
People either actually add something into it like commentary and genuine reactions like Charlie, and theres people who just sit down and watch the whole video they're reacting to without doing anything and being silent the whole time, basically watching the whole video with the streamers facecam being stoic.
I'm an awful person.
I guess you are
We know Ken
Yes you are
NO KEN
think of the small creators you monster.

Pokimane got a dmca strike for watching full episodes of avatar. Why does that not apply to RUclips videos people put hundreds of hours on.

Just wanted to say your videos are bangers

"I know. Content aggregation is very profitable for those who lack morals."
Also rants about how's Charlie is ONLY for the money, and he WILL steal for the profit.
"Dude literally told his followers that short content makes no money,

"That being said react content can be great if something new is added to it as Charlie has said" That's DV's point. Both Charlie and you missed it.
I would be annoyed and mad too if I'm being misrepresented and borderline defamed.

I think it was about a year or so ago, but there was drama on twitch surrounding reaction content and there were clips showing Pokimane and Hassan getting up and walking off stream for like ten minutes whilst someone else’s content was being played on stream. What does that add to the original video?
I found the Food Dip extended universe through Charlie, I am forever grateful for that
