Tu22 is a different aircraft. NATO called it "Blinder". And it was a hopeless aircraft.
The aircraft from the video is Tu-22M3M (a variant of Tu-22M). NATO called it "Backfire", and it was the only bomber which scared the shit out of NATO countries.
Tu22 and Tu22M are totally different bombers.

I personally suggest that this is the complete military channel I've ever seen.
I believe the M suffix is used to denote that an upgrade or modification of some kind has been performed. I see it a lot in the way Russia discusses their military technology. They have a habit of progressively augmenting and modifying equipment and never really taking anything much out of service. Lots of useful little toys left in storage in case they need them.

Another sweet looking Russian jet as usual. Though I always thought that the Tu-22 has a bit of resemblance to the US North American A-5 Vigilante, which was a nice looking machine itself. I love there Combat Approve episodes and as for the narrators voice, I like it.

I respect your right and freedom to raise childish criticisms of this excellent report. Yes, our stealth bomber is 20 years or more ahead of Russian technologies. However, this aircraft, carrying their hypersonic missiles, could sink one of our aircraft carriers. That makes this aircraft, it’s kinetic weapons, and it’s non-kinetic weapons a serious threat. Don’t you think? And at a tiny fraction of the cost of our B-1‘s and B-2‘s, not to mention the other stealth bomber we’ve had deployed for almost a decade already.

@@editman145 DD is the US Navy hull classification symbol for destroyers, ie they use the letters "DD" to describe a destroyer. Though in this case the proper term would be DDG, ie guided missile destroyer because a "regular" DD is not equipped to shoot down bombers.

American bombers such as the B-52 and B-1, and fighters such as the FA-18 Super Hornet,F-15E Strike Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon, can carry anti ship missiles.

Russian planes are so beautiful but the pilot's gear looks to be still from the sixties. Please give these great pilots a better and modern looking gear as they really deserve to look cool. I noticed that the pilot inside the cockpit was wearing a helmet from the 60's.

Gotta laugh at the notion that a "carrier killer" amounts to a hill of beans. The minute this plane performs an attack on a carrier the 3 main global powers will be trading MIRVs after which survivors (ie: everyone not burned up) will be surviving on turnips in the cold and dark.

The pilot job of strategic bombers is to safely bring her to the assigned mission location while being escorted by fighter jets. Once the specific range is reached, the weapons bay are opened and missiles are released. And the pilot job ends there. The mission will be automatically loaded to the missiles in mid air. Some of the desired targets are preloaded. If the missile is promised as per manufacturer standards, then it should fulfilled the task which it is designed for.

The American CWIS is good at shooting down subsonic cruise missiles, has a very poor chance against supersonic anti-ship missiles, and has virtually no chance against new Russian hypersonic missiles. The higher the missile speed, the less time it takes to destroy it. The response speed of the American CWIS is simply not sufficient. The United States has not upgraded its CWIS since the Cold War.

In terms of missiles, the M3M are already carrying the Kh-32 which have 1000kms range which is outside the combat range of the US Navy fighter jets.
And then there's the possibility for 4 x Kh-47M2 Kinzhals which are also on-board the Mig-31Ks. With a handful of these already flying and a dozen more to come...there's no way a fleet can survive near Russian waters regardless of direction. Take out the carrier, the planes are doomed even if some are already airborne.
..in such situation the navy, and SAM ground forces are going to play their role as well. There is no way for a carrier fleet to overcome such defense

They could but there are only a handful of TU-160s and those planes are optimized for strategic weapons delivery to North American targets.
The TU-95 could also do it, but it doesn't have the ability to dash within launching distance,fire, and escape,the way a faster plane could.
The TU-22 gas the speed and the numbers to launch swarm attacks with the objective of overwhelming the air defenses of a Carrier Battle Group.

shame the 22 didnt get fly by wire in the upgrade. this is tupolev though. nice that the pilot and navigator get glass cockpits. basically the su57 has been treated like a parts bin and everything that could be used has. note the engines on takeoff now no longer have that brown haze. a worthy upgrade.the 22 imo is more important than the 160 to russia because there are just more of them.
