Tu22 is a different aircraft. NATO called it "Blinder". And it was a hopeless aircraft. The aircraft from the video is Tu-22M3M (a variant of Tu-22M). NATO called it "Backfire", and it was the only bomber which scared the shit out of NATO countries. Tu22 and Tu22M are totally different bombers.
I believe the M suffix is used to denote that an upgrade or modification of some kind has been performed. I see it a lot in the way Russia discusses their military technology. They have a habit of progressively augmenting and modifying equipment and never really taking anything much out of service. Lots of useful little toys left in storage in case they need them.

The most cost effective response to the upgraded TU-22 is upgrading the US B-52 with new engines,avionics,and hypersonic weapons (which were just successfully tested from the B-52) of its own. The American CWIS is good at shooting down subsonic cruise missiles, has a very poor chance against supersonic anti-ship missiles, and has virtually no chance against new Russian hypersonic missiles. The higher the missile speed, the less time it takes to destroy it. The response speed of the American CWIS is simply not sufficient. The United States has not upgraded its CWIS since the Cold War.
Just because a weapon hasn't been in combat doesn't mean it can't do what it's designed to. No weapon that has proved itself in war had combat experience before...going into combat. Didn't stop many of them from becoming legends.

Designing such a Bomber to looks also close to a huge jet, only the size makes it look great, and thry look like jets, compare it to a B1 B that has already the shape of a small passenger plane.
Let hate beside, both bomber look great, and of course the huge air intakes of the smaller too look a bit over sized, but needed, one the 160 they look more in proportion as the plane is longer with finer lines. When they will use the new engines and missiles with s 2000 km range, thry will need only one low yield strike to sink an entire carryer-fleet, and can turn without no jet taking up with them. When they can use AI and fly this things from the living room, no ship will comes close to Russia. The difference between NATO and Russia, the RU build mostly defensive weapons. They could but there are only a handful of TU-160s and those planes are optimized for strategic weapons delivery to North American targets. The TU-95 could also do it, but it doesn't have the ability to dash within launching distance,fire, and escape,the way a faster plane could. if i remember well first Tu-22 versions were not really great
shame the 22 didnt get fly by wire in the upgrade. this is tupolev though. nice that the pilot and navigator get glass cockpits. basically the su57 has been treated like a parts bin and everything that could be used has. note the engines on takeoff now no longer have that brown haze. a worthy upgrade.the 22 imo is more important than the 160 to russia because there are just more of them.
russia is building both new Tu160 and TU22M3M, while modernizing the existing ones to new specification

When they will use the new engines and missiles with s 2000 km range, thry will need only one low yield strike to sink an entire carryer-fleet, and can turn without no jet taking up with them. When they can use AI and fly this things from the living room, no ship will comes close to Russia. The difference between NATO and Russia, the RU build mostly defensive weapons. why don't Russia use Tu-160 & Tu-95 as a carrier carrier..?
They could but there are only a handful of TU-160s and those planes are optimized for strategic weapons delivery to North American targets.
The TU-95 could also do it, but it doesn't have the ability to dash within launching distance,fire, and escape,the way a faster plane could.
The TU-22 gas the speed and the numbers to launch swarm attacks with the objective of overwhelming the air defenses of a Carrier Battle Group.
