- The State of Idaho's last witness is retired FBI agent Doug Hart who walked the court through disturbing text messages between Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow.
The messages were exchanged in 2019 before the death of Tammy Daybell, Chad's first wife. Daybell discussed "death percentages" he came up with specifically for Tammy and JJ Vallow, the adopted son of Lori Vallow.

Feel that. It was a long trail of murder. Tylee and JJ could have been saved if police had investigated Charles Vallow's murder more deeply. It was just 6 to 12 weeks after Charles was murdered that the kids were also murdered. I despair for American children. Who is looking out for any of them?

I agree because they made a huge error when Alex shot Charles. Alex is a felon. Lori left the scene with JJ and Tylee. Lori's husband is laying dead with two shots to his chest. Chad never believed anything he preached, imo. He just started making stuff up one day. He wanted the same attention Julie Rowe was getting for her visions and predictions. Chad kept making things up as he went along, first to control his family(Tammy couldn't play video games because Chad claimed her deceased grandmother said she shouldnt) and then he kept making things up for Lori's benefit. I don't think Lori believed it either. She just pretended she did to get everyone else to do her dirty work. Even if Lori does believe some of it, Chad knows very well he pulled all of this out of his butt. He was jealous of his siblings successes, wanted the attention, wanted complete control of his family(still has control over his grown kids), wanted his little cult followers and wanted Lori all to himself. Lori's dream was to live in Hawaii, jobless and childless. Chad preached for several years tha Rexburg would be the new Isreal or wherever, that it was were the 144,000 had to be.
