My guess it probably had to do with eclipse having a newborn group of vampires for him to take down. Plus the fight in breaking dawn part 2 never happened because it was a part of Alice's vision that did not end well for a good portion of the characters. Plus since we learned Jasper's story in eclipse it would make send that he would be the only one with a showdown in eclipse. It probably had more to do with than just his military background.

^I was always Team Switzerland when it came to Bella being with Edward or Jacob even though I liked both I could never choose 1 i always Team Jasper,Team Emmett when it came to Alice(Team Jasper)&Rosalie(Team Emmett) I liked all the other characters too but when it came to Bella it did not help that Robert Pattinson and Taylor Launter Played Edward(Robert Pattinson) and Jacob(Taylor Launter) then did weird storyline for the movies 2&3 which had both Jacob and Edward trying to be with Bella but Bella being obessed with Edward and not having Bella notice that her best friend Jacob cared about her and was there for her when Edward wasn't in movie 2 then the Bella and Jacob kiss in movie 3 was extremely random I know it was probably put in there because of the book or something like that but even though I was happy when Jacob imprinted on Renesmee despite the fact that she was still kind of very young I could still never choose between Edward or Jacob for who looked cuter with Bella.

It's cute because the 'my apologies ma'am' bit is an in-joke between the two of them about their first meeting where he stumbled into the diner where Alice was waiting for him, and she tells him off to which he apologises like a true 'southern gentleman' (her words). This is why he returns to his old accent, and you can see the subtlety of the subtext between them. It's actually a well played piece of acting between Jackson and Ashley. I've not read the books just researched various characters after watching the films, to gain more understanding.

I'm sad because we will never see more scenes with Jackson as Jasper Whitlock Hale...and even with Ashley like they will never return as the characters..Jackson and Ashley had so much chemistry btw in like the 10 scenes they had together in the series you could tell..who knows maybe they may reboot the series with the backstories of the cullens or have a future story but by then everyone will be played by different actors. Jackson was amazing he had the southern charm and mystery..Jasper was such an interesting character because he fell into the darkness and managed to climb back out, he should have had more relevance in series..

You have to take into account his gift. Although he can influence the emotions around him, he is also affected by them. When Bella cut herself (I still don't understand how that much blood comes from a paper cut), ALL the vampires were affected by the blood. Even though they feed on animal blood, it isn't enough to fully quench their blood lust. Jasper was hit with the blood lust of all the Cullens, including his own. He could have very easily been overwhelmed, which made him snap.
How can Jasper be so hot and at the same time so cute? I mean like, dude he's got it all! And that accent? OH GOD! I just LOVE his accent! And how can a couple be so perfect together? I totally shi JaLice! I think or I'm pretty sure that JaLice is like 50% or 70% of the reason I watch Twilight and the rest is because I love Vampire or Werewolve stories. they should have had more scenes like this. i get that the whole series was centered on bella and edward's relationship but i feel like the rest of the Cullens relationships couldve been shown more instead of just a few quick scenes. they were all important characters too. i wouldve loved to see how they met in the diner.

Charlie depressed and bitter, jasper depressed to the core of his soul, and PTSD Alice a mental patient because she had a strong intuition and her dad wanted her to be gone. Rosalie PTSD from being a rape victim. Esmée violent husband and miscarriage almost successful suicide attempt. Carlisle purest being ever written wants to save as most people he can and suffers from old fashioned bad conscience. Bella heavy depression almost an entire year. Lea Sam and Emily loving each other but can't stand to be together because of heartache. And so many more examples. I read these books during a time I tried to escape from domestic abuse and sexual abuse as a young teen and pretended one day ill become a vampire and kill all of them. And just imagining being a fierce unbeatable force made me able to endure the pain of the day. If it were hitting me until I was unconscious or calling me names until I cried on the floor in a corner or trow me down the stairs... Thinking I could be Rosalie murdering her rapists was the light of my day

How can Jasper be so hot and at the same time so cute? I mean like, dude he's got it all! And that accent? OH GOD! I just LOVE his accent! And how can a couple be so perfect together? I totally shi JaLice! I think or I'm pretty sure that JaLice is like 50% or 70% of the reason I watch Twilight and the rest is because I love Vampire or Werewolve stories. Gosh, jasper is so gorgeous and sweet and polite. His smile, his hair, his dimple. Not to mention his southern drawl that is oh so sexy. I really do love jasper. The pain he went through and his constant struggles are really endearing. I do however wish that he was portrayed as more of a bad ass in the movies but that's what fanfiction is for :)
I mean seriously they are so focused on Edward and Bella that the interesting characters are left out
they should have had more scenes like this. i get that the whole series was centered on bella and edward's relationship but i feel like the rest of the Cullens relationships couldve been shown more instead of just a few quick scenes. they were all important characters too. i wouldve loved to see how they met in the diner.

Twilight showing that even the strongest can break because of mental health issues. Charlie depressed and bitter, jasper depressed to the core of his soul, and PTSD Alice a mental patient because she had a strong intuition and her dad wanted her to be gone. Rosalie PTSD from being a rape victim. Esmée violent husband and miscarriage almost successful suicide attempt. Carlisle purest being ever written wants to save as most people he can and suffers from old fashioned bad conscience. Bella heavy depression almost an entire year. Lea Sam and Emily loving each other but can't stand to be together because of heartache. And so many more examples. I read these books during a time I tried to escape from domestic abuse and sexual abuse as a young teen and pretended one day ill become a vampire and kill all of them. And just imagining being a fierce unbeatable force made me able to endure the pain of the day. If it were hitting me until I was unconscious or calling me names until I cried on the floor in a corner or trow me down the stairs... Thinking I could be Rosalie murdering her rapists was the light of my day
