- Thanks all for tuning in again, My favourite song ever written. I was holding off playing this until I learnt the bass properly but I would never have got it right. I did my best with this one to turn over every stone. It's an absolute masterpiece that deserves 100%. I needed to use the original drum and bass track but all the guitars were tracked in one sitting. Thanks all very much, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing it.

I think he just did that so his cover would sound extremely close to the studio version. In another video he explains that sometimes it's difficult to get the same/nearly the same sound as they use. Plus it just adds a greater sound

Dannie Caleno 2 Actually there are 4 guitars in this part, saw a video from a russian ‘tallica fan few months ago and he explains very well that James played a clean guitar part in addition that is practically unnoticeable unless if you listen to the track very carefully. It adds an even more melancholic touch to the whole shit.
I actually think there's more. Yes, three guitars doing the harmony, but in the back you can hear a guitar doing the little progression. I suppose those are three guitars, one in the Right pan, one in the left and one in the center. So, 6 six guitars in total, if the harmonies weren't overdubbed. These guys made such full songs, with so many details.

When Metallica had the privilege and honor with playing and making music with Sir Clifford Lee Burton it meant that Metallica really played with 3 guitar players. Nobody played like him before or since. How would they sound had Cliff Burton not been taken from us all. Unfortunately we will never know but it would have changed history because Cliff is such a legend and one of the greatest musician's ever.
@James Williams Cliff died at 24 years old so if your going to compare Cliff to Geddy Lee or any other bassist then take that into account like had he not died as a kid or was still alive and playing today then you could compare those two but I don't think that would be fair to Geddy Lee who I respect but all you need to hear is Orion by Metallica to see that Cliff is the best ever. A good example to this is Sean Taylor who was going to be one of the best NFL safeties ever but was murdered early in his prime but regardless Cliff was the man and so was Sean Taylor

When I was a beginner people always told me that I wouldn't be so much into Hammett and Hetfield as soon as I would discover more technical bands, but this time doesn't seem to be anytime soon !!!
