The other day I went to some Mexican street food stands and ordered food in fluent Spanish. It was really fun to see the street food vendors reactions to my Mexican Spanish and accent. The guy even said I was like Canelo, the amazing Mexican boxer from Guadalajara! (He has a light skin tone like myself) That was a funny and kind comment. This was also the first time I've ever tried "tacos de canasta", a dish which originates from a small pueblo near Mexico City. They were delicious! Thank you for watching, you're awesome :) New videos every Saturday.

Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

Yeah, Spanish is easy to speak however the U.S. is terrible at fomenting language learning and therefore when one actually can converse it's looked at as a success, when in Europe for example it's nothing special, IN GENERAL.
I love how he spoke informally to young street vender and formally to the older street vender
Why should he speak formally to someone just because they're old? Why is being old worthy of more respect?
@@kseniachevenard839 Because that's being polite. With someone your age your going to talk informally, that's just how it is. Someone who's older than us has lived and experienced more than we have and it's always good to treat them with respect.
Wisdom of Solomon 4:9
“But wisdom is the gray hair unto men, and an unspotted life is old age.”
@@kseniachevenard839 It's called being a decent human being, you would relate more to the younger person so you speak in slang to them and all that so you would connect more. You speak formally to older people to show that you are polite and have shown respect and they would most likely treat you with the same respect.
@@kseniachevenard839 it's called manners and having basic respect
@@kseniachevenard839 you respect everyone until they give you a reason not too my friend
For a language lover, it's simple moments like these that just make all that hard work, sweat, and love that you put into learning a language worth it.
True
I just love how you organically talk to people. It doesn't have to be about getting a reaction, tricking someone, or growing your channel. Just a genuine interaction that you share for us to enjoy and learn from.
Still gotta pay the bills, get the clicks, I get it... but I have so much respect for the way you do things in general and have loved every video of yours that I've seen!

He visto varios de tus videos y tu español es obviamete muy bueno y la mayoría del tiempo suenas como si fuera tu primer idioma. Solo se nota que no por el uso demás de pa' y chido. Tu español mejoró mucho
You know you have completed a language when they didn’t notice you was foreigner until you tell them.
wow their accents are soo nice
1:32 "Nomas quiero dos de papa y UN de frijol." Your Spanish language skills are impressive, 99.99% native like but it's super minor details like asking "dos tacos de papa y UN de frijol" (instead of uno) that show you are not a native speaker, for a distracted speaker this can go unnoticed and they will say you're a native speaker. Congratulations for speaking Spanish at such an amazing level. I don't like Tv show stereotypes like Narcos that portray Mexico and the Mexicans as drug dealers and don't show the real Mexico which is a nation of people who strive to be better in Business, Science, Culture, Music, Arts, we're good people. If more Gringos spoke Spanish like you do and more Mexicans had a good English level the two nations would understand each other better and build great things together.
but even then, depending on the place you grew up in, a lot of native speakers, and I'm talking about people who are like IN the spanish-speaking country, make mistakes like that, i don't know how to call it but it's part of how the speak, like jerga almost. a lot of people say "la calor", "la problema" or mistakes like that where they say un instead of uno as part of their vocab i guess? the way they speak?
super good spanish imo!
@@laurashion6844 la calor yes, la problema? I don't think Spanish speakers will ever confuse genders. La calor is one of the extremely rare/unique examples
