This is one of my favorite podcasts. I feel honored to have been ‘introduced’ to Noah and Natalie, and feel such a connection to all sides in this painful but beautiful presentation.
This series is an important educational tool. Please, Free Press, consider uploading the entire season of seven episodes to RUclips. I had hoped for a season 2, with further conversations and healing, but the times we live in may not allow for this possibility.
Thank you so much for this valuable and healing presentation.
Loved this podcast. JK Rowling has been so misaligned. I am a 71 gay man and who would ever think that I would see the day when someone who says women can’t have periods is a bigoted person. The saddest is my fight within my community, many who are left wing liberal Democrats, a party I left after 50 years. Very sad. But I am a fighter and have to stand up against these trans bullies. Thank you Joanne for your bravery.

China during Mao Zedong's rule :) Spoiler: The Bible
Actually most Dictators all through history did this, they all understood the importance of the control of information. They don't like books that promote individual thought to question everything in todays society. That is the pillar of society, too question everything. And journalism is what supports that pillar. To give society as much information as possible. Pre 2010's that was normal.
Yup. This is how I discovered Salman Rushdie in the late 1980s.
the harry Potter books are very mid tbh, it's full of plotholes and poorly written, the only controversy is that they're mildly racist and antisemitic
Amazing podcast. And to me it confirmed my position which aligns with J.K. Rowling’s.
Please upload it to RUclips. I would like to turn on subtitles. I am not a native English speaker and subtitle would help me to understand.
yah we need to get this translated :)
Guuuuys, please RUclips is also podcast platform, just upload it here please. Audio just fine, subtitles could be autogenerated.
I think I'm gonna sign up in a podcasting platform for the first time just to listen to this. I don't know yet what are your views on J.K. Rowling nor the LGBT, but I really sense that you have no animosity for either of them. If J.K. Rowling reads this comment one day : wherever I live your books never quit my shelves, and I can't wait to share them with my children.

So tragic how in Chapter 6 the teenage girl (who irreversibly mutilated herself at 16) talks about how she "seriously considered the ramifications" of "transitioning", as a child. Most women don't think much about becoming mothers or breastfeeding until their mid or late 20's. We are mistaking puberty for mental disorder, and then perpetuating and celebrating the disorder.
I thought it spoke volumes that her dad has several trans friends and even he did not want her to transition. Sterilizing and castrating yourself is a BIG deal.
Most people agree with her.
Maybe that's true in your bubble
No, they don’t. The world is progressing for trans people with or without the blessing of bigots.
@@firstnamelastname816 maybe it’s not true in your bubble
Tbh that’s not true
Hey, you guys are absolutely crazy to not be posting this podcast on RUclips along with all the other platforms. RUclips is its own eco-system and one you'd be wise to include. There are many for whom, if it's not on RUclips, it almost doesn't exist.
For me she's one of the best writers of her generation, amazing woman, smart and beautiful
Name three other well-regarded writers of her generation you have read.
She's really not lmao. I don't hate her but Harry Potter was just ok and all of her work post-potter has been bad. Her screenplays are also really boring. Nothing wrong with being mid, but she's not "one of the best writers".
Spoken like someone who never finished harry potter. book 4 and up straight up rambled and sucked. The books got way too long.
Smart? She’s really not. Accomplished in her field? That’s undeniable. She’s not a terribly bright human, though.
@@shilohschwartz8671 my bad that i liked the books? Dafaq:))

This was worth listening to just for the guy who said Harry Potter leads to witchcraft the way pot leads to crack. Oh man. I hadn’t heard that old chestnut in a long while.
The best thing is to be at centre neither left nor right but today that's not an option
I really enjoyed to listen all the episode on Spotify. This podcast is so good. JK was allow to clarify her view and demontrated that yes, she listen trans stories and read the theory and after all she has her own point of view. And Nathalie and Noah have been able to tell their point of views and their stories so it's pretty good.
Where is chapter 2? Please share it on RUclips, you will reach way more people that way
Fascinating. Look forward to listening!
She was accused of Gender Cult Heresy
She’s a bigot. Just call her what she is.
Rowling is a genius!
Bigot*
I've learned about this podcast from Sam Harris' podcast. Not many people today have the courage and ability to engage in dialog on "prohibited' topics of race, sex and gender. However, it is the conversation that is our only hope. Thank you for doing this work!
Conversation is not our only hope, though. Marginalized populations don’t owe you a calm debate about their right to exist free from bigotry. Shaming, mocking, and financially impacting bigots are perfectly reasonable strategies of progress, and they’ve worked time and time again.
What a great podcast series. J.K. Rowling is one of the few people left who still has common sense and the bravery to speak out against what is so obviously insanity. What a kind hearted person!
Can someone post the following chapter on RUclips please.
The issue with Megan is that she considers trans activism an “ideology” when it’s literally a minority group struggling to exist in a world that hates them based on the false information spread by people like Rowling. That’s the trouble with the premise of this podcast. I get that Megan is skeptical and fearful of anything she considers an ideology or anything not debatable, but the reality of life is that some things are factual and as such are inherently not up for argument.
what do you mean by 'anything not debatable'? why would something be inherently not up for debate?
@@chequecareca ...because we're talking about people's human rights here, not someone's favourite colour. you cannot inherantly debate someone's right to exist
@@chequecareca you can conceptually debate trans people all you want, they will still exist. Its always funny to me that the people who want to "debate" rights of minorities are often times never that minority themselves. You have the luxury of seeing trans people and transness as something to discuss and not a reality you have to live with.
It seems you don't really know what Rowling is saying. She and a lot of other feminists are against erasing sex. So not against transsexuals, but against laws that allow everyone to declare as any gender at any time. I find it hard to believe that transpeople are happy with predators using these laws. They should speak up against it, knowing full well that putting lipstick doesn't make a convicted male murderer a woman.
@@LoudMinded imagine saying Rowling is being misunderstood and then going on to argue about sex during a gender debate
Hey guys, when is chapter 3 coming? Such a interesting well-thought out episode especially chapter 2. Can’t wait to hear Rowling speak on the cancel culture of today. Hope there is a lot more to come. ❤ Gay guy who always loved Harry Potter and find it is disheartening to see how many “LGBT” people are now acting more than ever like the Fundamentalist Christians acted back in the 90s and early 00s surrounding JK and Harry Potter. Absolutely loved this and what the Free Press is doing. We need more media organizations like you now more than ever who aren’t afraid of the truth and challenging oneself and perceptions of the world.
No Chapter 2?
Megan, I am THRILLED you took it on yourself to get to the bottom of this! I've been thinking for years now that we need an in-depth interview with Rowling by someone without an agenda to sell. To get her side. It's not just about protecting 1 person - it's about the cultural wave we are now all a part of and which has the ability to destroy thousands of lives. Thank you so much for putting your time and energy in this, and I'm thrilled that Rowling chose to work with you.
Megan does have an agenda, though, and it’s clear when you listen to the podcast that she agrees with JKR. Why would any aspect of this podcast, from the framing to the music to the final say from JKR, be the way it it is Megan weren’t in agreement?
@@yolandaponkers1581 I disagree having listened to the whole podcast. she was impartial and allowed both sides to voice their opinions and weighed up both without agreeing with either. Maybe you’re just mad that jk Rowling came across well because well she is a very intelligent woman and speaks a lot of sense
@@Aliciae411 reducing sexual orientation into sleeping activities and style choice is your intelligent standard i see

When do we get number 2?!!!
This is the most disappointing character arc from a former WBC member. Like girlie, you're being brainwashed into another cult.
I think that she’s scared of anything she considers to be a strong conviction, which I understand. Sadly, she clearly feels that trans people existing constitutes an opinion as valid as the people trying to take their rights away based on lies and propaganda.
Her books are not Jewish book that German burned because they moved past those belief. They have values as they still resonate to them.
I wish there was video though!
Her character Deloros Umbridge and how she operates portrays a lot of similarities into the evils in society what’s wrong with the world today. I can see why they want to ban the book so kids can’t read it -it’s terrible.
It’s realistic, not all children books are going to be fluffy and rainbows. Kids need realism and meaning in fantasy worlds. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. No books should be banned, everyone has the right to an opinion and the ability to share it 🖕
anybody knows the musical piece that we hear at the end?
Which audio book are the exceprts from?
I'm a fan of J. K. Rowling and the universe she created and knew when I had health concerns. Thanks to her and the Harry Potter universe it's much better. For personal tweets I don't think it was offensive and many people think the same...
Obviously, I support her 100% in this relentlessness and in cancel culture.
PS: For me the "fans" who have distanced themselves from her and her universe are simply not real fans!
J. K. Rowling is a queen 👑❤🙏
she wrote a 2000 word manifesto to call trans people bullshit and said that trans women were sex predator, she follow a pedo, and is friend with and is funding the alt right from England, which is against gay marriage and abortion, so much for protecting the childrens and being a feminist
You’re fortunate to not be personally victimized by her actions and it’s sad that you lack the empathy to connect emotionally with the people she’s lying about.
@@yolandaponkers1581 It's crazy to think that we know people's lives by saying that I'm lucky not to be a victim or that I don't have empathy for others... So know that I have suffered from harassment and relentlessness when I was younger so yes I unfortunately was a victim because I did not correspond to French society! I have a lot of empathy for others but I don't find it normal that we harass or go after a person for comments that personally I don't find offensive because I'm not a transgender person but however I understand that it could have affected these people... Since apparently you know my life better than I do, I'm going to tell you four reasons why I support J. K. Rowling. Firstly, I find this woman inspiring and incredibly kind by giving to many associations. Second, I support her for what she has created as a universe. Thirdly, thanks to his universe, I was able to get better with my illness and not only think about hospitals. And finally, I support her because I would NEVER accept harassment and harassment. I don't find it normal that we also attack our family, our friends, our collaborators, our universe, that we threaten a person with death (because no one has the right to life or death over someone another) or that their address is disclosed! It is this kind of militants that I find horrible!
@@manongranger8576 So by your logic, we shouldn't call out racists if you're not a minority as non-minority people are not directly affected by it.
Or we shouldn't call out anti-semitism or sexism bc we're not Jews or women.
@@samlee3039 I never said that, I just said that I didn't find his words offensive because I'm not a transgender person, but I said that I could understand their point of view and that these people are angry. As much as I understand the activists who are angry, but I do not understand that we trivialize harassment, relentlessness or death threats. That I know her family, her friends or her collaborators have nothing to do with the words of J. K. Rowling... Freedom of expression is for everyone so she has the right to think what she wants like everything the world. After all, we all know that Twitter is the hate network and that as soon as we say something, it can go a long way. When I hear that we are transphobic because we support J. K. Rowling, we have to stop, it's not because we support her that we are necessarily transphobic... So yes, I don't know everything about transgender people, but I have no hatred towards them quite the contrary...
No need to start this way. She is smart, wealthy, successful. So what? You don't need an education to know what a woman is. You just need to not be a liar.
Damn contra really dragged y’all😭
I wouldn't type the name of this podcast into IM at work, because the backlash you get if someone even thinks your transphobic is quick and severe. Sad that the majority of people have the same reasonable views, including probably most trans people, and we let the militant minority scare us.
Halfway into chapter 6 right now. Never heard of Natalie before. She doesn’t see the saftey concerns JK and others are coming from. How can Natalie ask for a moment of compassion and understanding, when she herself isn’t willing to accept that there is an attack on the saftey of women and children. The rights of women are being taken away. I still haven’t seen a peep from trans men. Sports, bathrooms, safe houses, nothing. Because women are always easy to push around. Men are mostly the aggressors (sexual or physical/anger). Looking for to the next half!
Finished Chapter 6 with Noah’s interview. He is what with help bridge the gap between the differences. He had the “ideal” path on medical help, and family support. I am so happy and grateful Noah was able to get on and share his story and his hope for the future. Natalie seems in her goal for understanding and union, she became the monster.
Outstanding podcast. Thank you
What are these safety concerns exactly?
@@zeals936 Watch Natalies reply to this series. Just search for Witch Trials and Contrapoints. They left out a lot in the series.
@@sagephil thank you! Will do!
@@samlee3039The safety concerns are rape, physical assault, and just general male social aggression towards females. Trans women are males (men who think they are or wish they were women) who have all the behavioral features of any other male person, so they pose all the risks to women that any other man does. If you wouldn’t let men into a women’s changing room, the you shouldn’t let trans women into a women’s changing room…bc trans women are men.
Meh..
..... the heck is she talking about? One or two Christian's said Harry Potter was evil... and most other Christian's told them to sit down and shut up.
Liar.
I really think this transgender conflict is much more about autism than transgender issues - people with autism are vastly over represented in “gender diverse” people and they have trouble getting the nuance of JKs views
There is zero evidence to support this claim. This is just baseless, toxic disinformation meant to delegitimize a marginalized group.
This is BRILLIANT. Now....maybe....hopefully....an ACTUAL conversation can be had instead of the knee-jerk reactions I've been seeing born from fracking twitter.
