  • Actual procedure showing aspiration in the clinic of a ganglion cyst on the patient's wrist.
    This shows how a ganglion cyst can be treated in the office by simple aspiration using a sterile needle. This is one way to treat these common hand cysts, but the recurrence rate (how likely it can return) is quite high. Surgery may offer a more permanent solution.

    Is it painful after the aspiration?

      Honestly, no. It feels MUCH better. I have a video of this on my page, but my reaction is worse because she did great!

    Is there a need to put the sterroid solution after you've drained out the fluids?

      No need to inject a steroid; simple aspiration and compression would suffice. But these cysts can recur greater than 50% of the time.
