Fun fact, the game had a voice line cut out for some reason that confirms it, but it's heavily implied that the only reason Miller found Artyom when and how he did was because the Dark Ones were leading him to Artyom since they consider Artyom one of their own. In a cut line of dialogue in the van, Miller says he swore he heard whispers and even saw a dark one, but then tries to rationalise it away instead, not wanting to believe it. Truth of the matter is, the entire series boiled down to that one moment, all the good Artyom ever did was the reason he was saved from Novosibirsk's cobalt laden surface.

Finished this game back in early December 2019. On the 30th of October of this year, my pet Chico passed away at 7:00PM because he had undiagnosed diabetes, high blood sugar, and kidney failure, and we were there for his euthanasia. They packed him in a box and my mother was waiting in the car, because she didn't want to see Chico die, since she saw our first dog died in vain. We got in and I was sitting in the front seat holding the container with Chico inside. I just imagined the Race Against Fate soundtrack in Metro: Exodus playing and our drive sort of reminded me also of the drive out of Novosibirsk. It's depressing seeing him gone, but I'm just glad we brought him home and buried him, just like everybody buried Miller peacefully.

Metro, one of the few games that still continues to not fade away into the nothingness that is 2021+ gaming scene. A gem of a game. Same for Subnautica. Same for Alien Isolation.
when i first saw the ending to this game, i hadn’t played it yet, i didn’t even have the game and i was like “so what? some guy died” and now i’ve played all 3 games years after seeing the ending, so i had forgotten how it ended and it felt like losing a family member. this battles and missions with Miller made me grow a major attachment to him
I see everyone doing Race against fate. It's cool that they play it in the piano and the guitar but I want someone to play this little piece at 7:36 with the violin or something
I encountered this weird glitch where Artyom just randomly exits the car and can't get back inside because he wasn't supposed to do that in the first place.
after unknowingly getting good ending i thought that i got bad ending cause of miller i searched ao much just to find that there is no way save him ...i really like him to stay..
NGL, when I saw Miller pull out his syringe and use it on Artyom I legit had to stop playing for a bit. One of the few times a moment from any game broke me, Miller may have started out as my least favorite character but by the mid point of Exodus he was in my top three.
Am I the only one who saw Artyom’s death after this scene as absolutely fitting? In a way, I’m sad the Bad Ending won’t be considered canon. After tasting true freedom on the surface, the man willingly re-entered the atomic, concrete hell he fought so hard to free his friends from, all to save his wife and allow her to bask in the new world. I don’t like how this is painted as bad. Yes, Anna will grieve for Artyom. But the man was a Spartan. So many others died for petulant subterranean squabbles, but he died so they may be free.
Artyom: After all we've went through together. You give us hope, strength. I know you're still here You're still by me, resting. Come on man... Dad, don't give up on me. Please wake up.. Colonel Miller. Wake up! She needs us! Colonel Miller 💔 You sacrificed yourself for me, for anna. I will not let you down, I.. I will get the medicine to anna. Farwell my Mentor.
So that white light is in fact the moon ?? I always thought this was the light of the train as I played it through and found it far more intense and emotional this way 😭 the music it's you like a bus tho...

A gem of a game.
Same for Subnautica.
Same for Alien Isolation.
when i first saw the ending to this game, i hadn’t played it yet, i didn’t even have the game and i was like “so what? some guy died” and now i’ve played all 3 games years after seeing the ending, so i had forgotten how it ended and it felt like losing a family member. this battles and missions with Miller made me grow a major attachment to him
When he called Artyom "Son", i felt joy
This made me cry in my playthrough... I just can't even explain lmao. It's just that good.
I'm a man and I cried so fucking hard at this scene!!! The music must have gotten to me haha
the bgm is just damn pacifying...loved it
Artyom and Miller are Real Heroes they risked to cure Anna
This is the closest depiction in media of what drunk driving feels like
That ending touched me for sure
The most emotive ending in the history of videogames
Что ж, всплакнул ещё раз. На первом прохождении еле дорогу видел. Игра шедевральна
Thank you for this clip ... revive my own escape from this cold city. Could not start to go on with DLC for nearly a week, - its been so stunning
I thought uncharted 4 ending was beautiful but this scene hits different
Best metro out of the previous 2
FASTER ! GO FASTER DAMMIT !
there are only worse and bad ending.
Thank you youtube for recommending this to me again
You are great father Miller Rest in peace
Kirill trying to drive and saying i thought am alone again.😢
I see everyone doing Race against fate. It's cool that they play it in the piano and the guitar but I want someone to play this little piece at 7:36 with the violin or something
I encountered this weird glitch where Artyom just randomly exits the car and can't get back inside because he wasn't supposed to do that in the first place.
Metro will forever be in our hearts, because Khan said the Metro is like a living heart...
This section of the game showcases what a person is willing to sacrifice for the person they love
Did you know that Kirill's speech here is little bit different on Russian voice acting?
please tell russian translation in English
novosibirsk, where chaos space marines come to repent
RIP Col. Miller
Best scene on this game
i was so confused on why he didn't use a medkit. Little things saved me hundreds of times
he gave his anti radiation medicine to Artyom
But everytime I went into an area with heavily concentrated amounts of radiation I just inject a med kit and all is well.
after unknowingly getting good ending i thought that i got bad ending cause of miller i searched ao much just to find that there is no way save him ...i really like him to stay..
It’s bad because I want Artyom to live
Its bad because in the good ending they go back to Moscow to save the people, in the bad ending they stay in Lake Baikal
Artyom:
After all we've went through together.
You give us hope, strength.
I know you're still here
You're still by me, resting.
Come on man... Dad, don't give up on me.
Please wake up.. Colonel Miller. Wake up! She needs us!
Colonel Miller 💔
You sacrificed yourself for me, for anna.
I will not let you down, I.. I will get the medicine to anna.
Farwell my Mentor.
Miller's death was a hard hit.
OST sounds like main them from “FURY” 2014
So that white light is in fact the moon ?? I always thought this was the light of the train as I played it through and found it far more intense and emotional this way 😭 the music it's you like a bus tho...
I always thought it was more emotional knowing Kirill had never been on the surface and this was his first time seeing the moon and everything else we take for granted.
what are those flashes with somethin yelow like a a door happens like 5 times during the video
Radiation
No sleeping soldier.
I feel this game so so much...
