      Depends on the "hook method" being employed. This roof type in the modern context is a primary exposed slate roof with a secondary "cold roof" underlaminate system common today. These types of "modern interpretations" are not the same as fully traditional roofs of this "hook-type" yet still can last a minimum of a century or more if vented properly, maintained, and not damaged through neglect of other "poor practices" by modern roofers later working on the roof...
