All you have to do to realize how serious this car is, is to look at the Nurburgring times and compare it so where other cars have been. It ran a 7:16 which is faster than a 992 911 Turbo S, Corvette C6 ZR1, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari 488, etc.
Well, the 911 GT3RS which the title is referring to, did it in 6:44min. That's over half a minute faster. The cars you named are all outdated by now or were not even built for explicit track use.
To be honest I was a bit sceptical of Kenan in his first videos, but meanwhile I really enjoy watching him. I think he has grown into his role as presenter very well
love that you went into the history of the name and meaning. something else about that ZL1 engine is that despite its rating of 425hp, it made closer to 570-580. which when placed in one of the 69 Zl1s made, could result in a 1/4 mile time of low 11s range. it also removed all decals and options from the car.
You’re killing it kennan! As someone who studies and works with racing, the technical explanations are very well done. This is exactly the kind of video I love when interested in a car. Can’t wait to see where you go with this! Keep it up!
While it took some getting used to, I think it's now fair to say that Doug's taste in people is as good as his taste in cars. Both Alanis and Kennan have been great additions, and I've really enjoyed getting to know their quirks and features!!
I absolutely LOVE the ZL1 1LE. Couldn’t quite afford one, so I bought a 2018 manual 2SS. That car was so good, I couldn’t believe it. Not even a 1LE and the handling was the best I’ve ever experienced. And the sound with a Borla Atak exhaust! Didn’t keep the car long, but it was glorious.
I wish so badly for Kennan to cover the CT6-V Blackwing. It would be nice to hear someone else acknowledge how cool of a powertrain(for GM) it possesses, and with the depth Kennan gives it. The callbacks and the references to the NorthStar, and even the LT6 borrowed some ideas from it as well.
I can not believe this. I have two pages up with the ZL1 version for sale on them. I've been drooling over this car for a month now and will own one hopefully, if I can finally beat this cancer that I've fighting for a year now. Thank you for doing this for people like me, dreamers. You do a fantastic job of reviewing cars!
One quick correction: The 5th gen ZL1 didn’t come with a 1LE option, and the top model of that generation was indeed the Z28. The 6th gen of course has the king Camaro: the ZL1 1LE.
I own a 23 non-1le ZL1. Everything Kennan says about the 1LE is true. I bought a non-1LE because of how intense driving a 1LE is and to me the suspension is too rough for my daily driving use. It looks amazing but the ride is definitely not the most comfortable. The power and the handling of this car though are fantastic. And the brakes are top notch, erasing speed in no time. The 6 speed manual is not as fast as the 10 speed auto but man I love rowing through the gears! And I’m not tracking the car for lap times. Great review Kennan!
I tested a GT500, and ZL1 1LE, and for the same reason as you went with a 6speed non-1LE. The GT500 was amazing but was not as "dialed in" chassis-wise.
A great, informative video from Kennan. He’s really settled into presenting videos and has developed his own style which is different but complimentary to Doug’s. Nice job and I’m looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
Surprised he didn’t touch on the stock Goodyear Eagle tires. Got many, many comments on mine with people thinking they were bald/worn out due to the lack of tread depth.
Another big mention should be how difficult they are to buy. I tried to get a set for my Cayman S (not ZL1 1LE sized but bigger than stock), but they were on a 1.5 year backorder with no relief in site, so I had to go elsewhere.
I don't remember if this car has been mentioned in any of the garage discussion videos but I absolutely believe this car is going to shoot up in value in a couple of years and be highly sought after.
Kennan reminds me of James May, some may find the technical things he talks about as boring but his technical knowledge is so insightful when your gonna buy the car and so much more useful than simply looking at performance figures and looks

I wanted so bad… that I bought the Hot Wheels one at Sears (I was after all 11!). Thanks for the video.
I really like Kennan doing these videos, I commented on Doug’s video saying I didn’t think he suited doing Doug’s usual quirks on the main channel. But this, this is perfect with Kennan. This is his sweet spot. I stayed interested in the whole video, informative and direct. Brilliant.
I’ve seen a few similar comments, but great work Kennan. It’s been great to see you grow more comfortable in front of a camera. I enjoy the detail you bring, it’s a great compliment to Doug
It always bothers me when people erroneously say a limited slip or locked differently sends equal power to each wheel (and you hear this all the time!). What it actually does is make the wheels try to turn at the same rpm. If one tire loses grip, by making them turn the same rpm, the loss of grip doesn't result in one tire spinning rapidly. Instead, by locking them together, power is effectively sent from the slipping tire to the one with grip. Power wise, a strong limited slip or locking differential can actually send all of the power to one tire in situations where one tire has no grip (perhaps it is temporarily off the ground due to a bump) and the other does have grip.
You could not have said a single word during the driving portion of the review and we still would have know exactly how you felt about the car. That speaks volumes about how great the car is as well as the review 😊
