Eh. That sounds great at first, but I wouldn’t like it personally, simply because it would cause coasters to become boring pretty fast, and I love coasters too much to accept that.
"Top Thrill Dragster is meant to simulate takeoff from an aircraft carrier" I have a feeling it may be inspired by another vehicle that quickly accelerates, can't really put a finger on it
Considering a Top Fuel Dragster would accelerate you by pushing you with force, and Top Thrill Dragster and and aircraft carrier accelerate you by pulling you, the show got it spot on lol
@@Freakywwe its literally the same in terms of force, wether youre being pulled by a motor in or outside the car doesnt make a difference in that regard, the only difference is that an aircraft carrier or pulled coaster arent limited by gravity as much
@@Phoenix-zu6on If you think the feeling of thrust from a drag engine = the same feeling as being pulled by a hydraulic motor then, frankly, I pity you lol
The ride passes all kinds of safety checks before anybody actually rides it. Plus, it's not the ride's first ever manned operation. Saying he's risking his life any more than guests are is a stretch. Realistically speaking, that portion of his job is to ride coasters that are knowingly safe; come on, that's a great job.
While he may be VERY lucky to have this job, it takes a lot of knowledge. It's not his job to enjoy the ride, it's his job to make sure everything runs and feels right, and make sure the gp can enjoy it.
Bet cha dont need any coffee after a ride like that , first thing in the morning. Thank you for my safety. Got to ride it only once due to long lines. ( I had to think about it about 30 mins before I got in line 🤣🤣)
I bet he gets to ride it on “empty train mode” which is way more powerful since it takes much more force to get an empty train over the top hat. Lucky dog!
yea working at an amusement park is fun. I work for Sesame Place but i'm moving up to Dorney Park next summer. I have 8 years of Amusement Park experience
You're right, I work at a theme park in Britain, where we don't have state-of-the-art roller coaster safety systems like the US parks do, so we have no choice but to have humans test it, but there's been a million other calculations and speed/g-force tests done beforehand, so it's not dangerous in the slightest.
I’d like to know how he concentrates and listens to noises and functions at these high speeds. More than half the time I’m loosing my shit and trying to keep my stomach from falling out.
While the train is in the gravity run section there usually isn't much to look for. All of the important noises happen when the ride is moving slowly. You can hear and feel the wheels on the track, and you can hear all of the interactions with breaks/lifts/launches etc under the train. Usually you're just listening to make sure it sounds normal. The test ride is really just a last resort sort of check to make sure there aren't any weird problems and to say "we're willing to ride it, so it's safe". All of the important daily checks happen before anyone gets on, including operators or the guy in the video.
@@nathonizamboni875 ohhhhhhhh! Ok that explains a lot. I was thinking he was listening for noises and stuff while going up the track and on the way back down. Thank you for explaining.
Cassie_ Brooks your dad is a brave man! I’m on a coaster crusade across the US and despite having done nearly 90+ coasters, dragster is still too scary for me 🤣😢
I was hoping he would ride it with a notebook and pen, jotting down some notes as he went
hahahaha
alpal 😂
LOL
HELP LOL
🤣🤣
I think he the calmest person you'll ever see on a roller coaster xD

but he is the test dummy sooooo

The speed and acceleration rate are closer inline to a carrier launch than a top fuel drag car which would be 3 times this
No emotions shown because he is feeling, listening and studying the ride for potential problems!
No expression what so ever
Bob Man ikr he's pro
All he says at the end is "Nice. Great" 😂😂😂😂
he dont give a single fk he rides like a boss then at the end.."great!" xD
He's probably ridden the ride over a thousand times at this point
BLEK YESUS I mean he rides these rides ALLLLL the time
He went on in a suit and tie like a boss.
I could never keep a straight face during this type of work. This guy is something able to do so and be able to listen to the ride.
This guys the real life rollercoaster tycoon park inspector
If I had his job I would tell the engineers, "Not enough G's."
Lol
No shit, right? I thought it was just me. But it's still an awesome ride
8 years, how are you guys?
best job ever...... so jealous.
Not really, It's his job to literally risk his life on roller coasters everyday
uh, sign me up.

it's funny that he did not change any facial expression during the entire ride XDDDDDDD
Most people pay to get in theme parks to ride rides...he gets money to ride rides. Lucky bastard XD
Justin S.
I have a season pass and, if you go 2 times, it’s paid off. Also, my friend paid me $50 to ride this exact ride
He doesn't even have to wait!!!!! LUCKY MANE
that would be so weird, riding rollercoaster completly alone.
I’ve done that when a park was open to the public once that’s how dead the park was
Germie's Coaster Yard

I’ve ridden rock n roller coaster before alone kinda weird lol
I know he's a tester for the coasters but really how can he keep a straight face the whole time wow impressive

This roller coaster is unbelieviable.
that old man has such a cool job
Everyone when they ride top trill dragster: 😱

I was hoping to see this guy riding the coaster with a pen and paper taking notes.
Beuh
I love the “Niiiice, it’s great.” And then the video ending
I wish I could wake up with this ride every morning. Wouldn't ever have to go to Starbucks again!
I WANT THIS JOB!!! :D
Lol me too. Except you have to Know all the scientific material on how the shit works lol
+Official Co-D B. "Scientific material", do you mean engineering? ;)
JW Yeah engineering but there is also a lot of science behind it to.

But it's only one person on the ride, so it barely does anything.
I lost my dragsterginity yesterday.
Liam King because the dragster looks like a- nevermind.

he's probably rode it hundreds of times
Who the hell is the narrator?? I know that voice
he is the reason why rides will stay safe in the park
No screaming but it’s nice it’s great
Can we just appreciate that the guy narrating this video is an elf from Oblivion?

It's literally been through dozens if not hundreds of safety checks before humans are even considered to test the ride GP
Nice. Great.
smile at 2:11

Livin' the dream.
oh i've asked people who work there if their job is fun, and everyone at the park at the different attractions and stuff say they love it:D

Thank god for these people who double check everything..its not the height or speed that scares me its how safe it is
