  • This is our 2nd shoot with Roadster Shop and it just keeps getting better with these guys. Joe Rogan's Sick Fish Cuda has had a lot of years of not being a reliable driving vehicle but that has seriously changed since RS got their hands on it...the exterior was left as is because Rad Rides by Troy nailed it but all mechanical has been dealt with including a full RS chassis underneath, a brand new Avant Garde interior and that glorious Mercury Racing SB4 engine making 750 high revving naturally aspirated horsepower! This is one of the finest builds I've ever seen, ridden in and driven so sit back and enjoy the ride...

      UK has a close knit restoration community, there's a hive of great skills and minds in places like Coventry and Oxfordshire, and a lot of other places out of the way. Because they're typically backed up for years on end with other commitments they know they might never get to around to anyways. I have no trouble remembering this incredible car back from those days about 20 years ago.
    This 'Cuda captivated me back then.
    .... remembering at the scene where the SICK FISH backed off the truck and Rogan just said "NASTY"!

      @thehawk05 10 месяцев назад +7

      Back in the early 2000’s Foose was seemingly doing two-tone on everything he designed then. Was never a fan of that as IMHO it would end up being a time stamp……aka tying the car to a period of time. When Joe saw the car in bare steel that’s what convinced him to go with Silver and he was right to do so even though others disagreed with his choice. Single tone in simple colors never goes out of style.

      @SweatyFatGuy 9 месяцев назад +5

      @@seanjohnfits a few years ago there was a big thing about Chip and Troy building a car for Joe, and it sucked to drive, according to Joe. He was joking around when he said it, but there was some truth to it. Chip and Troy don't design/build daily drivers, they build show cars you can drive. Roadster shop builds things to be more drivable, and to show car levels of fit, finish, etc. Not many people are going to daily drive a car with a $40k paint job.
      I am not taking away from any of them, they are far beyond my skill level in building cars, and I learn a lot from watching them work. Also get some cool ideas from their builds. I build daily drivers, dirt cheap compared to these guys, I spend less than $2k painting one of mine and I don't mind chips and scratches in them, they are built to drive every day. Its a completely different mindset with those big shops, and seeing their paint work alone in person makes me feel like a monkey throwing poo at vehicles. Of course I build things for me, not for customers.
      They have their own thing they do, usually show cars and drivability isn't high on the list... and technology advances after the build is done.

      The other thing to consider is , after delivery, how was the car driven? Enthusiastically or pounded like a rented mule? One person's expectation of how a car can be treated might be different from how it was requested to be built.

He's a class act.and I can guarantee he has not forgotten where he came from.great work these guy did I have done some cars but nothing like that factory resto stuff....👌👍✌️

    Noooooo you didn’t Shawn ! This is one of my favs .. Used a lot of ideas on my car from this …it’s amazing. Fun fact when i worked for BDS superchargers we did the fuel injection for the 528 as this was an engine used in a project truck for Hot Rod Magazine ..

    Man I've watched 3 vids of your guys builds the Grand National that is now my personal dream car in roadster shop guise, the 70 Camaro which has been my dream car since before I was a gear head and this 'cuda which is the Herculean Holy Grail in all things that roll and drink Dino juice. Based on these builds you're hands down the best shop anywhere. Granted I haven't seen all the shops but the bar is set beyond high. And one more thing THANK YOU for not committing the most disrespectful and deadliest sin in the automobile industry in my book and anyone that is a true gear head, grease monkey, wrench rebel, good ole boy or car nut will agree. THANK YOU for not building trailer queens. There's nothing worse than building a work of vehicular art and seeing it being pulled behind a truck, unless there's something that broke or it's getting delivered to a customer. Cars and especially muscle cars but not limited to those great cars are meant to be driven. I've heard I don't want to hurt it or I want it to stay running right, if you don't drive them they break down faster and more catastrophic when you let them sit. So again thank you for not committing the biggest sin in the kingdom of cars. The second biggest sin is babying it or putting around not ever getting above 50mph or 3k rpm. Thank you for driving them and driving them as a car of that quality of build should be. The Grand National is still my favorite and will be for a long time if not for ever so thank you for being true car guys and giving me a new dream car. And even doing what you've done and what you've accomplished it seems like you're just good down to earth guys who would be a blast to hang out with.🤯👍🏆😁 keep wrenching and making these masterpieces of motion

    How much thought went into this interior really shows
    Love the fact they kept the gauge clusters analog and integrated most of the screens to really keep the timeless look, only change I would’ve liked to see is a manual hand break to allow a little more fun. But the manual shifter is definitely awesome

    That shot with them making the left at the traffic light! I just about rolled out of my chair over how fucking beautiful that thing is. The wheel/tire proportion, lack of roll, the stupid Cuda/Challenger profile taken up five notches, just awe! That might be the most badass custom car I’ve seen as far as all around perfection. I’ve seen others I’d prefer as far as look, and heritage, like that Torino awhile back, yet this thing…..honestly it made me cry a little bit over its beauty. No bullshit I had to rewind that turn at the light like four times and wipe my eyes twice!! Yeah. I’m in deep, baby. Deeep.
