@@d0n_key Well that's not entirely right since front wheel drive does offer more pulling power to get up hills or go off road which is good for people who don't want to spend on all wheel drive.
to be fair there is quite a bit of unnecessary things such as massive entertainment system probably draining battery and the integrated mirrors draining probably more battery and more weight than standard and finally the rear seats, for a city car doesn't seem practical
200 km for city use is perfect for me! You can still go for a bit on the highway, and then charge it at home every night. It's perfect for urban living. I really like how Honda designed this car. I test drove one of these when they came out. It was a great drive. Lots of really good functions. The design is awesome. There is so much to like about it. But unfortunately it came down to size and range. A lot of people can probably live with the size, maybe even I could. But the range is just not good enough, and I don't see many buying a "city" car. Especially after getting used to just having a "car" that can go anywhere without problems. You take this on the motorway and you're lucky to get to the next charging station (slight exaggeration). Real shame considering how GOOD the car is. Such a big mistake in this day and age. And unfortunately the price doesn't help. You can get a used Kona or big battery Leaf for that kind of money and they are both more practical and have much better range just in case you have to leave the city centre. Good video though, really captures the fun of driving it!
I testdrove this car. It is really comfortable, pure joy to drive and the performance is more than enough for me. But I would need more range, since I like taking road trips. I was also disappointed with the sound system and trunk space.
@@johnnypovdrives Yeah, I still want one but it is a bit steep. I guess I am so used to my custom sound system in my car that it makes me a bit more "greedy" with stock sound systems, even though I know it's not a fair comparison.
I'm sure its really Fun being Rear-wheel drive, I was really surprised and Glad tHat Honda took that decision to make it RWD, But they could also make it cheaper and more easily accessible, the dashboard could have been just a normal TFT screen just behind the wheel and mirrors just standard type mirror for starters.
Currently have a 2019 Fit as a commuter car. Fun to drive, magic seats, 42mpg on hiway. If they brought the new Jazz hybrid to the states, I’d buy one in a NY minute. The new American HRV is actually not the European HRV which is also a hybrid. With gas prices going through the roof, Honda is short sighted not to bring the hybrid Fit/Jazz here to the states.
Honda made a mistake not continuing the Fit or not bringing the E to the states. It’s just that they think people rather have larger SUVs. I think Honda needs to bring it back because many people like smaller cars. I see the Honda Fit everywhere and they should bring it back as a hybird only option to compete more with the Prius.
Hope this makes it to states, looks amazing! body style and straight lined x with a hatch reminds of old VW hatch and not weird body style like Prius. I see a little of Honda Fit/Jazz but nah this is nicer!!
It’s a bit like those early VW Golfs and the first Civic. I absolutely love the design blend. Hope they make more cars like this, with better range & price ✌️😄
I like the Honda E. Very reminiscent of the classic Honda Civic from the late 80s/early 90s. Too bad it won’t make it State-side. Besides, unless you live in the City, it’s range makes it impractical for US consumers since we drive everywhere. Give it a 30 or 40kw battery, and I know I could make it work for my commute. I’m curious though- does the 25-year import ban apply to BEVs as well? I know the EPA enforces that for emissions reasons, but has that been amended to include or exclude BEVs?
Exactly, they clearly used the classic Civic as an inspiration and I love that. I know, these cars (same for the Fiat 500e) are just too small to make it to the US I guess, it's a shame because they really are fun city cars. Range-wise it's a disaster, only usable to go from high speed charger to high speed charger in an urban setting I guess. I have no idea if the ban also applies to BEV's, but that sure is an interesting question. Because if it isn't, I might just start a mini-EV import business. 👌😄
naaah, it was for the imports only because they used different emission standards. You should be able to buy and import one, but it'll cost you more to do so where it's not worth it when you can drive something better
Unfortunately not happening, and one of the major reasons why is dash. The dash incorporates video "wing mirrors" which to be honest is probably better physical wing mirrors but most states require a physical wing mirror to be on the road. Another case of technology far outpacing the law.
