  • A Grit Guard is a “big net” placed in your wash and/or rinse bucket to separate the grit from your mitt (Disclaimer, tagline by Grit Guard Inc USA).
    So, In this video I’ll be showing you how to use the grit guard properly and how it extracts and lock away dirt and grime from your wash medium (Mitt, foam, cloth or brush etc).

    They got a new invention it’s called “hose off the car before you wash it”. You don’t get as much dirt in the bucket but it’s easier on the paint

    the yellow one is the meguiars grit guard? what difference between this type grit guard and new type chemical guys grit guard? which one will work better?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Huairen Huairen! The yellow grit guard insert and the black washboard in the video are both from the Grit Guard Inc. These guys own the patent to it so if I’m not mistaken Meguairs’ grit guard are most likely made by Grit Guard Inc.
      Hmm....... I’m not sure which will work better as we’ve never tried the Chemical Guys ones. Perhaps someone else here would like to share their inputs?

    what are the clips where can I get them. Can I use River stones?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  7 лет назад +1

      Hi DW. Basically the Grit Guard is not a 100% perfect fit to our bucket, it has a little gap that caused it to "move around" when I agitate the mitt on it. So to make it stay firm I added something (in the case clip) to "widen" the Grit Guard so it doesn't "move around". I think you can use river stones around the cross bar fo the grit guard, logically that keeps the Grit Guard firm too.

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  2 года назад

      Hey Smoke Herbb, I used automotive bumper clips to secure the Grit guards. I forgot which car make it’s from but they are generally quite similar looking

  • @benpar8120
    @benpar8120 5 лет назад +9

    You should NEVER wash a car without rinsing it with plain water 1st.
    All you are doing is scratching the paint as you rub it

  • @GRexer
    @GRexer 8 лет назад +1

    No longer need to use 2 grit guard in a bucket by using this new method then.
    What type of clip is that anyway? That you put onto the grit guard so it doesn't move in the bucket.

    • @kokyi
      @kokyi 8 лет назад

      It's a simple plastic clip, i forgot where we sourced it, but we give it out when you purchase the bucket or the Grit Guard from us. The washboard attachment is more ergonomic then 2x GG. It feels "convenient" to scrub the mitt due to the angle

    • @GRexer
      @GRexer 8 лет назад

      Guess my GG isn't bought from you guys. I have a total of 3-4 pieces but never had any of the clips. Haha..
      How much is the washboard attachment? More expensive than the GG?

    This guy doesn’t know how to wash a car. Even when I was 12, I knew to rinse and power foam wash the car first, before laying hands in. Also, the 2 bucket method is best. The bucket with the grit guard should be the one for rinsing your wash mitt. Not the other way around. What a newb!
