I've used the series 2 back and forth with the normal xb1 controller. I can see a huge difference in the precision for sure. Still the normal controller is no slouch. Series 2 is the best controller to date.
For each of my active profiles, I have assigned a shift key to a paddle that I do not intend to use and then I assigned a shift function to the right shoulder button to launch the app for which I have that profile set up for. I have this consistent across all three profiles (currently Modern Warfare, the Outer Worlds, and Dishonored 2). All I have to do is select my profile, hold my shift paddle + RB and (boom) it launches the game for me. I like this because I don’t even have to be looking at my screen to know that I’ve just started up the game that I wanted to. What’s cool is that if I accidentally press that combination again (while in that profile’s game), it doesn’t screw anything up because the game is already launched. I have also assigned a shift function to D pad up to record/capture what I just did in a game, D pad down to take a screenshot, and D pad left and right to turn TV volume up and down. I’m really liking it!
@@DDRWesselink it’s been a while, I just took a look and… 1. In a game profile you are setting up, assign a button or paddle you won’t have a need for as a “shift” button. There’s a box for that button that you simply check. In my case, I never intended to use those bottom left-side paddles on my elite controller, so I made those both shift buttons. I tend to use right paddles for things like crouching or jumping types of actions. 2. Choose any other button and you’ll see a spot for what that button will do when you are holding down a shift button. Entering that, you’ll see a tab for “Actions”. Choose the action you want it to do. There’s a lot to choose from. In this case, select “Launch app”. 3. After doing that, you’ll see a section for that button called “Mapping”. Select the app you want to launch. Again, I always used the left bottom paddles that I didn’t feel much need for otherwise and then I used my LB shoulder button as a game launcher when shifted. Keep in mind that when not shifted, that LB button (or whatever you chose) just does whatever else it would ordinarily do or was assigned by you to do. Use whatever combo of buttons or paddles that works for you, but being consistent in your setup will make launching games easy no matter what profile you have selected. It becomes muscle memory at that point. I also set up some other buttons that did things like record what just happened, take a screenshot, adjust TV volume, etc. There’s lots of fun actions to choose from, but easily launching the game connected to the profile I have my controller set to was the coolest thing to me. Hope that helps!
Not really... Still no option to switch place on the D-pad and the analog stick which in games when you use both analog sticks, it's much better.... and I personally think the textured triggers is really bad as it's already terrible on keyboards when they do that with like WASD and spacebar. Other than that, Xbox controller is good. Also what's up with the rings on the Domed sticks? it was terrible on the WiiU, why have it on xbox. My general use is for playing other games that don’t really need any customization and for watching shows and movies and listening to music. thanks for the great review. planning to get one just want to understand if there's a difference for the elite series 2 for US, Japan and Asia? Does it have hardware difference like size, button etc?
The A button doesn't always work with mine. I hear it clicking, but nothing happens at times. Now I read it's a common problem and is a hardware problem... 179 euro's... wow. They messed up.
@sami firdose 1941. I went to exchange it in the store. Got a new one. Exact same problem. The A button gets stuck and stops registering input for a while. It's a hardware problem. I contacted MS support: they aknowledged that they get many repair requests for the Elite v2, and I can get mine replaced for a new one, but they expect that it will have the same problem. (So the support for the Netherlands and Belgium admits that the issue is a common problem). They really messed up.
@sami firdose The problem is that you can't go to a store and ask for a specific batch. They just stock the batch they were supplied with by MS. The real question for me is: will MS offer a free exhange program, where they provide you with a known working batch? Or will they just refer you to the repair service, where you don't know if the new one will work. The first option means that MS has to call back all faulty batches from stores and buyers. That will cost them a shitload of money. I think they will do what they first did with RROD problem: keep pretending it's only a few users. It's not like this controller will sell so well that there is a chance of a lawsuit, like they had with the Xbox360, which forced them to extend the waranty to 3 years and the obligation to provide updated versions.
Lets hope they fixed the grip glue and back buttons from jamming, I had a 1st gen one, and had those problems before i had to recycle it at a electronic recycling center.... There went 160.00 dollers!!!!! Thanks Microsoft!!!! It crapped out in the end.
The grips coming off my series 1’s was really a heartbreaker. Luckily, I was able to replace it at a Microsoft Store location despite not having actually bought it at a Microsoft Store (they were so awesome). Unluckily, the grips fell off that one within a few months anyway just like the first ones. Here’s hoping this is fixed on the series 2’s. It almost looks like the grips are physically a part of the actual housing of the controller, like they were all cast in the same mold. The only “seam” I can see is the one where the top and bottom of the controller comes together. Time will tell I guess.
Hey @xbox on thanks for the vid! For the left trigger sensitivity curve, you put that to instant. What do you use for curve adjustment and calculation with that?
It would be really really nice to have a video on youtube tht freaking explains wht true diagnal, radial and independent axis setting really mean. I cant find 1 fcking thing about it and not one person brings the sht up. I mean seriously, i can only search so much.
I googled how to fix the elite series 2 controller trigger sensitivity. The elite series 1 has the normal sensitivity as reg controllers. So on games like forza, 50% trigger pull will give you 50% throttle or brake pressure. I upgraded to the series 2 and my control is a little aggressive and not smooth anymore because now that ive upgraded to a series 2, when you press the controller triggers even a eighth of inch in, it translates to 100%. There is no propetual motion.
I love that the series 2 seems to be made more durable as far as the grips go. But the controller is super slippery in my hand. Also the controller sensitivity which may be fixable somehow but as of now is a huge downfall for games like forza where you want more precision on throttle or braking. Makes it hard to cruise as well which i enjoy. There is no way to consistently pull off smooth 15 /20% throttle or smooth downshifts upon braking. As soon as i barely touch the triggers its 100% and just falls on face flat everytime its so annoying.
thanks dude for your video i would like to know for example in apex what do you recomand ? to change the settings in the game ? to change the settings of my right joystick ? ( what you'ld recomand if its that ) or a mix of the twice ? thanks
Just got mine and as I’m not a big gamer, ehh... but before I return it, is there anyway to assign those extra back buttons to multiple buttons, for instance y+b at the same time?
Just got mine! Searching for the old community profiles. Have they vanished? I know what the adjustment tool is, but what is a “Tool Thumbstick”? Not sure which thumbstick would be called that.
There is currently no way to invert the x axis, but you can invert the y axis. Why?! This makes even less sense. Either offer full inversion as an option or don’t bother at all.
Popularity is besides the point. People spend this much money on a controller for it’s customisation and longevity. Not offering something as simple as inverting an axis is just pathetic!
Popularity is always the point, they spend the most time developing the features that are going to benefit the majority if people. Besides, you're request is strange anyway, y-axis inversion makes sense for people used to flight sim games, I really cant understand the need for x.
I'm on PC with this controller, and I don't see the actions options when mapping my keys using the Xbox Accessories app. I also don't see the option to use shift to switch between thumbstick profiles. What gives? Are those Xbox exclusive features? That wouldn't make sense.
Same, I’ve bought one, the grips if anything seem more slippery to me? They should of had a soft gel grip to them or something like that would been far better..
Pamela Ife you have to go into Xbox accessories, which can be accessed from the settings of your console, and then into accessories, which will then give you the option of configure, which will allow you to get to the button mapping screen
My controllers headphone jack broke after less than a week. But getting it replaced for free so it’s ok I guess, kinda annoying. Other than that it’s amazing, using a normal controller feels really cheap now
anyone else missing those additional features under customize? I don't have the option for volume up, down, record that, screenshot, etc. Ive updated windows, firmware, app, etc.
The controller makes beeping sounds during ingame action (CoD) but I can't find how to disable it in the accessories app. It's not the vibrations I think. They don't make the sound that I hear... and as I'm wearing headphones the beeping sound just sound annoying and I just want to disable those noises.
I was wondering if anyone can tell how to adjust the thumb tension to the 360? Meaning which way on the thumb stick do I need to go to get the 360 setting?
I just want to know how to simply disable the rear paddles. The old elite you would simply double press the sync button but that doesn't work with this controller.
I've used the series 2 back and forth with the normal xb1 controller. I can see a huge difference in the precision for sure. Still the normal controller is no slouch. Series 2 is the best controller to date.

Verse I just bought my with gift cards from Christmas and the guy at the register was like goddamn that would hurt my wallet 😂😂
This helped a lot
Lol I got this controller because it just looks really clean and finished but I didnt even think about the customization when getting it
I googled how to fix the elite series 2 controller trigger sensitivity.
( what you'ld recomand if its that )
or a mix of the twice ?
This thing is 🔥🔥🔥 😈
This controller is a nightmare to use if you have steam installed...
Wdym it’s easy to use with steam
There is currently no way to invert the x axis, but you can invert the y axis. Why?! This makes even less sense. Either offer full inversion as an option or don’t bother at all.
We found that one singular person that likes and uses inversion
Popularity is besides the point. People spend this much money on a controller for it’s customisation and longevity. Not offering something as simple as inverting an axis is just pathetic!
@@yalawnmower okay but just about every game offers it in the settings to
Actually unless the game is Japanese, X axis inversion is rarely an option. For e.g. Devil may cry 5 you can, but Skyrim, Doom? Nope 👎
Popularity is always the point, they spend the most time developing the features that are going to benefit the majority if people. Besides, you're request is strange anyway, y-axis inversion makes sense for people used to flight sim games, I really cant understand the need for x.
Post your BFV setups here!! Keen to see pilot and tank setups
Xbox Elite😍
Which button do you set for your shift?? I can't figure out which button would be best for it
Ok great but what about the curve adjustment setting and calculation setting for the instant setting on the thumbsticks. What do I do with those???
How can I make that the sensitivity in zoom get slower? That woulf be very very usefull in Ark survival evolved
I'm on PC with this controller, and I don't see the actions options when mapping my keys using the Xbox Accessories app. I also don't see the option to use shift to switch between thumbstick profiles. What gives? Are those Xbox exclusive features? That wouldn't make sense.
For the high thumbstick tension is that turned all the way down or up?
I can keep default for right stick when hipfiring? But smooth when using left trigger? How exactly
Hey I just bought the controller can you possibly help me set it up for fortinte
Jose Perez I use axis independent on right stick instead of radial and use trigger deadzones on 01
Ttv RUMTYME i kinda need more explanation could you help me. Do you have discord
Jose Perez ig jd_gatlin
Which is the tool THUMBSTICK?!?!?!
What do you guys think the best right stick sensitivity curve is ? For aiming.
delay or smooth
Not one time have I ever had my hands sweat while gaming. Even when im going hard in a game.
Me neither but you know
People are different
Same, I’ve bought one, the grips if anything seem more slippery to me? They should of had a soft gel grip to them or something like that would been far better..
I got my elite 2 on Saturday 2nd may 2020. Just like to know if I can put right bumper and left bumper to the paddles. Anyone help
Pamela Ife you have to go into Xbox accessories, which can be accessed from the settings of your console, and then into accessories, which will then give you the option of configure, which will allow you to get to the button mapping screen
yea, i got mine 2-3 months ago and my RB doesn’t work and my right stick doesn’t work, and no, i never dropped it
Ok u say a lot about the shift key but never show us how to actually use the damn shift key
vibration is ALWAYS on max as a default for any profile you create sooooo yea
Is it just me or does he remind e of Ali-a 😂🤣
My controllers headphone jack broke after less than a week. But getting it replaced for free so it’s ok I guess, kinda annoying. Other than that it’s amazing, using a normal controller feels really cheap now
What do you recommend for the right thumbstick????? For cod
jeff
You can make the right stick smooth when ads? But default when not ads?
Yes
"From my years of playing shooters..." - only shows cod and apex
Guys, I need help, on my Xbox Elite 2 layout setting there isn't any "Action" tab. I just bought it and it bumps me out
I am so much enjoying mine. Until I got stick drift on the left joy stick, now it is a very stressful annoying controller. Please fix the issue 😕
Every controller that has ever been created with a joystick has that issue fam.
whats your Right thumbstick settings for FPS?
This controller hotter than the top of a Totino's Pizza straight outta the oven.
anyone else missing those additional features under customize? I don't have the option for volume up, down, record that, screenshot, etc. Ive updated windows, firmware, app, etc.
also dont seem to have that "action" tab either shown at 4:20.
Just got mine, and the top two paddles don’t work😑
The controller makes beeping sounds during ingame action (CoD) but I can't find how to disable it in the accessories app. It's not the vibrations I think. They don't make the sound that I hear... and as I'm wearing headphones the beeping sound just sound annoying and I just want to disable those noises.
What’s good for MFS2020
I was wondering if anyone can tell how to adjust the thumb tension to the 360? Meaning which way on the thumb stick do I need to go to get the 360 setting?
Bro why do you actively use buttons???
I just want to know how to simply disable the rear paddles. The old elite you would simply double press the sync button but that doesn't work with this controller.
Hold down the profile button until the light goes out, and then they are no longer on
Just take them off
Is it worth it? Feels weird if my controller is more expensive than my console (Xbox s).
I was on the fence for ages due to the price. Decided to buy one a couple of days ago and it's really good. Could go back to a standard controller now
