You left the roots on the first stump. A stump that small could have been dug out with hand tools with better results. Also use a piece of plywood to protect surfaces in your work area. One day you will get that customer that will notice this and want compensation for any collateral damage you may have cause.
“$300 in ten minutes” + drive time to and from + time spent quoting - gas $ for stump grinder and truck - cost of maintenance for stump grinder and truck - marketing - payroll for employees - workers comp (%50 of payroll) - cost of storing equipment (shop). Lots of overhead in tree work:/ Not to say that it can’t be lucrative, but “$300 in ten minutes” is an oversimplification. Love the videos tho! Hope your channel gets to where August and Guilty are at!
My first mentor would have a list of jobs to perform if we showed up to the garage and had to hold out due to rain. Changing out and sharpening grinder teeth was my task. Now retired from treecare, i considered going the stump grinder avenue, but don't have the space for machine storage or even the vehicle for moving it. I had other interests that occupied my time and finance. Who knows, may just some day do it. I'm quite the salesman and specialist in whatever i do.
I did this tree job like three months ago but never used the footage. I wanted to post something so I dug it up. This month is going to be BUSY so there will be a ton of new content.
I don’t think you need the dual wheels on flat ground. They go on and off easily. Im actually looking for a set for my Rayco RG37 but I don’t want to buy new of it can find used. they’re good for hilly uneven ground for sure.
My ground is really soft here. Double wheels save the lawns. The machine weighs 3200lbs. Plus helps it not tip over when driving over large chip mounds. 👍
Your Bandit unit looks nice. I've seen the remote controlled units but I've also noticed that they have that hesitation / delay between the controls and the movement and that bothers me. I prefer a hand lever controlled unit because you can feel your way into tighter spots and feather the controls fairly finely (for the most part). If the customer sees me get a job done fairly quick, I make sure to mention how expensive the machine is and that usually drains' off most of the objections.
@@VeteranTreeService No comparison to what you have but small and easy to get anywhere. One of my clients had one and I think he had around 4k into it.
@@VeteranTreeService I'm looking at a 38 special stump grinder to keep my mini skid busy. Any thoughts on that machine? It's not in a class like the one in this video but more of a side hustle.

Right on. 👍
Lol, this is how I think.
The time alone in consultation, bidding work, writing out the order, is consuming.
All part and parcel though.
I don't see any wrong in the title.. did he not make 300 in 10 minutes?
@@TheFewmr2 No, he did not.
@@Rudolf7115 LOL, you simply don't get it
What an awesome video. Cool stump grinder.! Love that sound of that little diesel purr purr purr purr purrin..🇺🇸🇺🇸🪵🪓🦃🌲🇺🇸🪵🪓
Ya, great machine.
Great video! I have a ZT1844 and love it! It is a beast also. Crazy about the Bandit line.
Awesome man!!!
80hp? That’s a monster. I use a 40 hp and thought it was sick. The remote is definitely a sweet feature
Ya. It's a monster for sure.

Keep focusing on the possibilities and something will happen!
Did thousands of back yard stumps with a 252 single.
That’s a money maker for sure! Nice that it has the remote too. Cool vid

Very cool machine! It's definitely an investment. As much work as you do, like you said, it's paid for itself.
For sure. Someone grinding stumps full time could make a lot more money with it than I am.

You're right about the hesitation. I've gotten used to it. 👍 Thanks for watching!
Awsome grinder
Thank you. It is!
Have you thought about the chainsaw stump grinder attachment?
They use a 90cc or more powered and can pretty much fit anywhere.
I've seen those before. I wondered how good they work but never really looked into it.
@@VeteranTreeService there called Alpine magnum. Expensive but can be carried thru a house vs crane or heli grinder over a house

What pole saw is that? Sweet vid
What wheel/teeth are you using??
Tomahawk teeth. 💪
Good video
Thanks
How long were you in business until you bought a stump grinder? Im wondering if its worth it to get this first before a mini skid steer.
Mini is better to have. Save the back!
@@VeteranTreeService Thanks!
I’m looking to buy some things like that stump remover. How much did yours cost?
Stump grinders aren't cheap. Expect to pay $20k-$50k for a decent one.

@@firstname6208 It looks like it will chip stumps just fine. 👍
Very nice
Do you charge per the girth of stump?
My baseline for grinding is $250.
How much is a stump grinder cost
I heard the price
Cutting trees is where the big money is. Low start up costs $300 in 5 minutes. A grinder may be $70,000
Putting a tarp down would save a LOT cleanup work.
That's true. I did that once. I have a nice Stihl blower that does pretty well too.
What kind of stump grinder is this?
Bandit 2800SP

By law, you are supposed to have utilities marked before you start a job like this. You will be held accountable if you hit the fiber optic lines.
Not the law where I live.
it takes 10 mnts to unload the machine,,, 45 mint to clean up ,, stop boolshitting people,,
No clean up job
