I HAVE THE TORO GRINDER WITH A 13HP HONDA FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND IVE GRIND SMALL AND LARGE STUMPS AND STILL GOING,GREAT GRINDER IF U KNOW HOW TO WORK IT...I JUST BOUGHT A USED VERMEER SC292 SO LESS SEE HOW THIS YEAR GOES... LIKE YOU CHANNEL.. GOD BLESS...
It’s self satisfying. I have a Bandit sg-40 and for the size it’s a beast. I wonder why people wear hearing protection when these machines are not that loud? Grind on.
Nice a good one. Right down my Alley!!! Tell a little more about those Carlton's I was wondering which is the Best quality Machines for Grinding, for the $???
Hello Jim. I’m not crazy about the grinder we have. When I replace it I’ll probably go with a Vermeer or a rayco. To grinder everyday I think you need a 60 plus hp machine. Thank you for watching.
I've got the Rayco RG1635, 2007 with 1800 hrs on it, the engine lost power recently so I've put the Vanguard 37 Efi on it now. My other grinder is the RG13, 2006 on which the engine blew recently so that has now been replaced with the Vanguard 14 hp. Just keep them sharp and greased. I found my bearings were failing with regular Ep2 grease so I've gone over to Lucas Extra green grease in the last few years and no problems at all.
@@triaddirtworksllc.9444 I'm very busy at the moment although I get most of the jobs I price theirs alot of people got stump grinders these days so I have to be competitive and price a bit lower than I'd like to to make sure I get the work.
@@triaddirtworksllc.9444 Work's steady at the moment if I'm not doing stumps I get some tree work in or even some grass cutting. The petrol prices at the moment aren't very helpful.
Hello. Thanks for putting g this well organized story together. I’m a novice and have a Carlton 5014 for my first gender. 35hp. Your comment about it being under powered got me thinking. Do you think I should go up in size honesty. I want to have good power to do what I need to do in good timing. Thanks!
Big man give me a call I would be happy to talk to you about this My number is 3366895409 if I don’t answer leave a message or shoot me a text I’ll call you back. To much to talk about on a text Thank you for watching the video.
I've owned a Carlton SP4012 for some time with the Lombardini Diesel 29hp. What motor is on yours and what type of cutting wheel is that? I feel that mine is underpowered and have kicked around upgrading and swapping out a larger diesel motor. I believe something close to 40 would be ideal. Currently running wearsharp greenteeth.
Thank you for watching. We have a 35 hp gas and it's under powered I think. I thought the diesel would have more power. How's the work load in your neck of the woods.
@@triaddirtworksllc.9444 The work load is what you want. I choose to do it part time with no employees. Its enjoyable and the amount of repeat customers have been steadily increasing through the years. I'd like to put a 45hp diesel on it and not sure about a cutting wheel. Currently running greenteeth wearsharp.
@@kevinmccliment7591 30HP Vanguard on my SP4012. just got it with 970hrs. it seems to grind fine for me. gotta be careful you dont bite down more than it can handle but compared to the SC252's its a step up
This machine is top heavy it will turn over with the dual wheels on. I used to have a rayco super jr it did pretty good with the dual off. It’s nice not having to take them off and on
Hi Sir, I’m thinking of getting into the grinding business is there a do it all grinder that you would recommend? Also do you feel you need multiple grinders a big and small to tackle different stumps/jobs?
Thanks for stopping by! At 8:33 that stump I can assure you that it is deeper than 2”. Time lapse and that angle can be a little skewed. Thanks for the comment style! Have a great day!

Good deal if you are already grinding you will do good with a second machine thank you for watching. What part of the country are you working in?
My old man picked up a Vermeer SC252 back in 2000. Still running it today!
I know some guys that are running vermeers that's all they will have. They are good machines . Thank you for watching.
Just bought a little 13hp Toro and I am shocked how fast a 3ft green elm stump turns into mulch. Lil boy knows how to eat!
That's good, your going to like that machine. If you keep good teeth on it, it will do you a good job. Thank you for watching.
I have Vermeer 252 and 362 love em
Some times I wish I would have went with a vermeer. Thank you for watching

Could that 13 hp grinder be hauled in the back of a Toyota tacoma?
Yes it can not much bigger than a push mower
@@triaddirtworksllc.9444 thanks im thinking of getting one that size and starting a side business

unfortunately it has sandvik teeth, not sure what I think about them yet
Is this machine workable without the dual wheels? Mine doesnt have to duallys and I'd rather not fork out $600 CAD for that
