Question: The Gungans are already extracting and refining the plasma on a scale sufficient to be the basis of ALL their technology. It seems to me that the Naboo already have a domestic upscaled operation capable of developing the plasma for an interstellar market if they weren't so xenophobic to the species they shared the planet with. Correct?

    • @trenchtierstudios554

The problem was that the humans and gungans were not on speaking terms. Most humans didn't even know about how proficient gungans were with plasma productions. Also the gungans were not really big on dealing with the humans to begin with.

This is why I love the Star Wars fandom. We somehow manage to come up with elaborate, even complex and semi-realistic explanations for such minor nagging questions left by the movies, like, "What the heck was with those giant bottomless-pit rooms with plasma-tubes and plot-force-fields under the Naboo capital that Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul fought in?"
Still doesn't explain why there were so many layers of force-fields protecting what was essentially just a bottomless pit of nothing and why those fields were turning on-and-off at regular intervals with no apparent switches or control panels nearby. Or why Maul didn't just Kylo Ren-lightsaber-tantrum the crap out of the field emitters to get to Qui-Gon faster.
Or how there could physically be water-filled tunnels running right through "The plaaaanet cooooore" without the gravity of the planet itself collapsing them (unless Boss Nass was hyperbolizing an the tunnels simply went deep into the crust like a hyperloop tunnel rather than literally through the molten iron core.)

I’m sure Naboo prospered post Trade Federation occupation! I read from Legends that the Embarrassment of Naboo allowed Queen Amidala to nullify the contracts with the Trade Federation giving Naboo fair market value price for their plasma. It was also discussed that some of the money was spent on enhancing their local defenses moving forward. Being the home world of Emperor Palpatine I am sure he pumped more money into his home world and probably made favorable conditions for the planet to attract money and opportunities, possibly spending imperial tax money to fund infrastructure projects or buy materials from Naboo for imperial projects. I read poor remote planets like Teth became very wealthy during imperial occupation so I’m sure the same thing happened to Naboo.

Then, we offer the winning party these JV terms: the state corporation has 40% equity in the mining operation and 5% royalty on the sales value to the state coffer. Let's just say the govt accumulated a lot of wealth from the dividend of that 40% equity... After having our own experts learn the tools of the trade, we start insisting on a local participation quota, either as employees or as vendors. See how having equity in the mining operations can enable such policies to happen?

You actually made good points on what the Naboo could have done to improve the standard of living for it’s citizens with their new found plasma wealth! Naboo didn’t have much strong local industry that were competitive and comparable to the economies of the core worlds worth investing in! This shows that the Naboo were not very good negotiators at all! According to Legends, the Trade Federation was a publicly traded mega corporation so the Naboo should have negotiated a reasonable stake in the company or discounted stock shares in exchange for their plasma! This would be more of a win win situation since the trade federation would spend money on infrastructure projects to extract and export the plasma, but Naboo would benefit from the profits of the trade federation since it owned shares in the company. If this arrangement didn’t work out, the Naboo could have followed the same model Norway did by creating a sovereign wealth fund and investing the plasma profits into shares of off-world companies that were more promising and profitable than their local industries! I do agree that spending the money on local education or enhancing the local security and defense force of the planet was an inefficient way of spending the plasma wealth! It also proves that the Naboo were not very good when it came to budget decisions. Naboo in comparison to our world would resemble more of the economies in the Mediterranean such as Malta, Cyprus or Portugal and at best Spain but were spending like Dubai and the oil rich middle eastern countries on lavish things used by the government. For a modest planet I felt the Royal house of Naboo overspent on the luxury Star ships that the royal dignitaries and even public workers used! If anything it was fine for Queen Amidala to have a luxury Star ship to use since she is the ruler of the planet but it was unnecessary for the local pilot security force to use luxurious Naboo N-1 Star fighters which would be the equivalent of the lambourgini or Ferraris used by the police force in Dubai! The Naboo were not very good pilots either in using these luxury N-1 Star fighters! We must remember it was not a Nabooan who successfully used this luxury N-1 to destroy the trade federation blockade control ship but a former slave boy from the dirt poor planet of Tatooine that did the job in the end!

Well one, alternative to the Trade confederation would have been to do like Botswana : state capitalism.
Naboo could have taken a loan from the banking clan or something, to cover 51% of the cost of the plasma infrastructure on the planet in order to get a share of 51% of the subsidiary of the Trae corporation on the planet charged to exploit its ressource. This would have allowed some manner of control other this new economic sector while still letting the private actors to benefit from it. It would also have given Naboo the liquidités necessary to repay the loan. And with the rest of the money to teach slowly locals how to get the job done on the infrastructures and take the place of the off-world workers in time... With cheaper salaries. ^^
A win-win situation which the Trade fédération could have accepted whole also putting in safety Naboo independence.

If I were the Naboo leaders I'd just let my top scholars study on other planets with the existing knowledge and technology for plasma extraction and when they return I'd order them to share the knowledge they got to the universities. once enough specialist workers graduated from the university only then I'd form a government own mining industry and began extracting energy. The process is indeed slow AF but it guarantees self sustainability. This is also what the Japanese did after they open up their borders, acquire knowledge and lift their economy to industrialization.

Notes: creating your own industry is slow and expensive so hard to compet in the market, also the foren entity needs to bring in there own specialists and workers so your own citizens won't get more jobs like they could for a donestic product but could get a boost in things like hotels, taxies ect,
Then this forren entery can sell the plasma they exstarct at a high price getting profits well only the government is given a small amount in tax needing to be distributed to the people or in the pockets of corrupt politicians

How does a planet generate plasma in the first place?

    • @ronjon7942
      @ronjon7942 Месяц назад

The fourth-state-of-matter plasma? I’ve even read that fire or flame is a type(?) of plasma, but I don’t know exactly what that means. I thought plasma, like what’s on or in the sun, is something ionic? I know it’s charged, due to electrons being stripped from outermost shells because of the high heat it finds itself. I think that’s what differentiates plasma from a gas, as in a gas, the molecules (or I suppose elements such as H and He) are electrically neutral.
In Naboo, I guess it has something to do with the molten outer core, bringing up the right ingredients - but I don’t understand the chemistry. Given the blaster gas (turbanna or terbanna?), and other metallic elements that are used in ship construction, as well as kyber crystals and whatnot, Star Wars may simply have its own chemistry. Not unlike Star Wars’ unique physics.

FOR THINGS BELOW 80m (using exact measurements for CU) Find cubic meters and multiply by
    -80 = CU X 0.064= __ = How many Hours of fuel X 95liters per hour= maximum fuel capacity
    80-200 =CU X 0.006=__ =How many Hours of fuel X 178lts Per hour = maximum fuel capacity
200-400= CU X 0.002=__= How many hours of fuel X 356lts per hours= maximum fuel capacity
400-600= CU X 0.0003=__=How many hours of fuel X 712lt per hour= maximum fuel capacity
600-1,000= CU X 0.00036=__How many hours of fuel X 1,424lt per hour = maximum fuel capacity
