J-Diggs spoke to VladTV about Mac Dre getting bigger in the music scene after doing a 6-year bid and building a cult following. He also detailed why he wasn't with Mac Dre when he was murdered after a show in Kansas City, revealing that he wasn't able to travel after just getting released from prison himself. During the conversation, J-Diggs also addressed rumors that Kansas City rapper Fat Tone was the person who killed Mac Dre, which he denied. J-Diggs added that everyone possibly connected to the murder is now dead.

Purpose Patch -- I'm from KCMO, too, although I've been living in Lawrence, KS, ever since high school. Anyways, not only was Mac Dre big here in KC, the entire Bay Area was big in KC going back to the early 90s with E-40, The Click, Mac Mall, JT the Bigga Figga, Ray Luv, etc. KC and The Bay always had a strong bond with regards to hip-hop, and it got even stronger when Rich the Factor (from KC) started making music with the Bay and later on Tech N9ne clicked up with the Bay, too.
But yeah, when Mac Dre got killed here everything got messed up. And, being a huge Mac Dre and Bay Area rap fan, that shit pissed me off and messed me up on a personal level. I was in my senior year of high school at the time and that shit had me super sad.
Then some dumbass motherfuckers had to prematurely take the law into their own hands, aka, Mac Minister, and kill Fat Tone even though he had nothing to do with Mac Dre's death.
Anyways, like you said, shit was all fucked up, and I hate that Mac had to die here in KC, and I hate that Fat Tone and everyone else who got shot down had to die over that whole fucked up situation.

Literally was listening to a Mac Minister interview scrolling through my sub box when I seen this. Crazy.
I have mad respect for J-Diggs for giving props to KC and saying he's got love for KC. I was born in KCMO and grew up here up until my family moved to Lawrence, KS, (a suburb/college town about 30-40 miles west of KC) when I was a teenager around 2000 or so. Anyways, I always remember KC and The Bay having a strong bond. I still remember when my older brother came home from a E-40 and Mac Mall concert back in like 1993 and he brought back a couple cassette tapes, I'm pretty sure it was either E-40s "The Mail Man" or "Federal," and then Mac Malls "Illegal Business?," and I loved Bay Area rap ever since. Some of my all-time favorite hip-hop albums include E-40s "In a Major Way," Mac Mall's "Untouchable" and "Illegal Business" albums, Ray Luv's "Forever Hustlin'," C-Bo's "Gas Chamber," and Dru Down's "Explicit Game." Then there's two albums I put in my Top 10 favorite albums ever category, those being The Click's "Game Related" album, and Mac Dre's "Stupid Doo Doo Dumb" album. I still bump all that shit to this day.
Anyways, I was in my senior year of high school when Mac Dre got killed, and I still remember how fucked up things got in KC and how it messed up the bond between KC and The Bay for a while. And then Fat Tone getting killed didn't help matters. That shit still pisses me off. That's what happens when stupid motherfuckers, aka, Mac Minister, take the law into their own hands without knowing all the facts and end up killing someone who had nothing to do with Mac Dre's death.
So I forever say fuck Mac Minister, not to mention no one even knows him for anything besides killing Fat Tone, as I can't name a single song he's done.
That aside, much love to The Bay Area, which I believe is the MOST underrated and unacknowledged areas with regards to rap and hip-hop. You always hear about New York and the West Coast (meaning LA), and even the Dirty South (Houston and Atlanta), but The Bay doesn't get the credit/attention it deserves!
